  1. It's not an uncommon symptom and many members here have reported it. Some get them again when they're glutened. It's also not uncommon for gluten symptoms to change over time.
  2. Waiting impatiently for the end of the Driest Winter in the History of Winters. (Skin is falling off.)

  3. There are other factors to consider too: what you ate, how much you ate, what and how much you drank, your stress level, the amount of activity and exercise you had, how much sleep you got. We don't Go the same every day. Even in a completely healthy, "normal," person there are going to be aberrations. But I do agree that keeping a quick log of everything...
  4. Me, too. Fortunately, pain was never one of my symptoms. And, as far as I know, I haven't been glutened yet.
  5. This is a no-no with being human not just being Celiac. Tanning beds are dangerous and bad for you.
  6. Not really. When the others say it's not a well understood disease, they aren't kidding. After diagnosis it's standard to get a bone density scan to test for osteopenia or osteoporosis. When I went for mine, both nurses who performed it
  7. Congratulations? Personally, I was thrilled when my tests came back positive because that was an answer after a long time of no answers. The diet can be a PITA but my search is over. I agree with the others who suggest to continue testing and then at least give the diet a try.
  8. Day two of an obnoxious sore throat.

  9. I've read that L-glutamine can cause constipation as a side effect. Have you tried dropping that for awhile? I looked into L-glutamine when I first went gluten-free as a way to make things heal a little faster but when I saw constipation as a side effect, I decided against it. Constipation was my number one Celiac side effect and I wasn't willing to risk...
  10. When I first went gluten-free, I was fine with dairy. About two months later, lactose intolerance kicked in. I think I had started to just overdo it with the dairy and my body said, "Okay, no more of that." I kicked out soy at the same time because I don't like the things I've read about it. I miss dairy and hope to get it back at some point but I love...
  11. Carmex brand is also safe. They don't even use gluten in any of their products so there's no danger of cross contamination.
  12. I also think women are more likely to join a forum to discuss their issues than men. Unfortunately. There's nothing girly about gluten intolerance.
  13. Hungry from not eating enough. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in what I should eat that I forget to eat enough of it.

  14. I'm grateful that no matter how whiny, self-pitying, and obnoxious I happen to be, I can always ask mom for a hug and receive one without hesitation.
  15. It's absolutely important and, yes, it could cause symptoms. Also watch out for sharing things like butter, peanut butter, jellies, and mayo.
  16. Maybe I'm in the minority but only people who are close to me and medical professionals know I'm Celiac. I didn't tell my co-workers because they don't need to know and I'm not particularly worried about someone sneaking up behind me and stuffing a slice of bread in my mouth. If you don't like dealing with the strange comments and questions from acquaintances...
  17. It sounds like you have another food intolerance lurking in there somewhere.
  18. Oh the insanity of having to sneak safe medications into a hospital of all places.
  19. But non-Celiacs who have never had a gluten reaction in their lives are saying they're safe! I haven't completely lost faith in the medical community...but I have my moments.
  20. Sounds like you need to sit hubby down and give him a stern but educating talking-to. Maybe with visualizations and musical numbers. (Of course, my own father asked me if milk had gluten in it. )
  21. Fighting through a bout of winter blues. Desperately ready for spring.

  22. I agree with the others. There's nothing about a tanning bed that isn't a bad idea.
  23. Carrageenan comes from seaweed. It's not gluten. There's some debate over how healthy it is for us but it's definitely not gluten.
  24. People have been telling since I went gluten-free how healthy I look
  25. The endoscopy isn't bad at all. You're given cold medications so you're drowsy
