  1. That stinks...I saw your other post on that. I am having great luck, thus far with the hotel. E-mailed on a whim and woman is working with chef and will arrange everything for me in advance. I just need to call her and set up this week. That's nice!
  2. How encouraging... So glad she is doing better !!
  3. I was also under the impression that Hornsby's is NOT okay. Strongbow and Woodchuck are.
  4. Where did you read or hear this? Just ate there a week ago...
  5. hmmm... no one has any other info? i think dh and i will be vacationing there last week of this month or first of october. probably staying at hilton sandestin. OR does anyone want to suggest fun things to do in Destin?
  6. I do wish you luck! Let me know what happens as you work with him... It "feels" like an ongoing infection sometimes. I just hope someday I'll finally break through this. Couldn't work and have a family feeling like this... Chel-Ugh sinuses. Annoying. I have taken to doing sinus rinses. Did we talk about that once? Anywho...once I start to get stuffy...
  7. Mayflower-- 1st off, your kitty is adorable I was diagnosed at 26...its been a year and a half gluten-free for me. I am better than I was a year ago, but still really struggle. I think I have a ways to go. I suffered through so many years I know it will take a long while to get back to full health. Welcome, also to the "IBS club"... If I had a dollar...
  8. I also recommend, if you can afford the extra $, to buy all-natural, unbleached pads or tampons. Natracare and Seventh Generation have them. Means less chemicals and yuckies getting into the body...
  9. Tiffany- Did your family doc or neurologist evaluate you for migraines? I did have a sinus MRI earlier this year after the allergy tests came back negative. It was fine. I did have scratch testing done. When I was younger the scratch tests showed allergies to a host of things. This time they were all negative. Meds do help some with the “non-allergies” ...
  10. Thanks for all the input friends...not sure if I'll make it through all this day at work. Hate this. Ya'll know what I mean... Part of me wants to make sure this isn't just celiac disease related--that I'm not just needing more time to healing and to make sure I'm not missing something. But the other part of me hates to keep searching, keep pursuing....
  11. Hey all... So I have been feeling pretty bad off and on for a while now. Just when I had seemed to finally be getting better. So so discouraging... I keep having these reoccuring symptoms. Of course my doc has no good ideas...his best one was Hep C (after asking me if I did intravenous drugs!), which of course came back negative. My thyroid, iron...
  12. Contamination, other intolerances, other diseases/illnesses, TIME (needing more of it), having been diagnosed after many years of Celiac--having a great deal of damage to heal from, vitamin deficiencies, immune system compromised, diet--as in poor, depression... Just a few ideas to your question...
  13. I drink Strongbow & Woodchuck Ciders. Also, rum (bacardi and Malibu), Maker's Mark bourbon, Cointreau.
  14. Yeah, that isn't gluten free. erbetty- Will you e-mail Linda and ask her to correct the information or explain what she meant?
  15. Ooo, let us know what kind-of response you get to your letter!

    ARCHIVED Gastroparesis?

oh and ps: high liver enzymes are very common in Celiacs before going on the diet, or being on it for a while.
  17. Definitely Kyo-D. I buy at my local health food store, but Wild Oats etc carries it too. It is in the refrigerated section. I like the amt and the strains--esp. appropriate ones for women. I always recommend this brand. Pills are very small and have never upset my stomach etc. (I took one that gave me issues once.) It is gluten-free/cf. Open Original...

    ARCHIVED Gastroparesis?

One of my friends has it. Go here, there is some good info on it: Open Original Shared Link
  19. ha ha! we laugh...but i do some of my best work in the bathroom i definitely text while on the pot. Susan-- I only sit on toliets belonging to those I'm really close to too...like seen naked or nearly.
  20. Sure you two don't just want to come up and kick with me and my GI doc in Indy
  21. Most antibiotics upset my stomach, cause D, cramping, naseau for me, and for a majority of people. Always take probiotics during and after antibiotic round. Don't take the antibiotics on an empty stomach and trying drinking gingerale, sprite. These things help me get through the round.
  22. I have the tender points--back and head and hips are worse. If certain parts of my body get poked...sends me through the roof. As has been described here, can be a burning pain in part for me, or like digging into an area that is bruised. For those with symptoms after glutening...could your symptoms be low-grade and then get noticeable worse after gluten...
  23. Bush's Boston, Maple Cured, Homestyle, Country, BBQ are gluten-free. I *think* their chili beans are the non-gluten-free ones. But like Elonwy said, you can tell from the label.
  24. Being gluten-free since July is not long at all...for many folks it isn't long enough on the diet to notice any improvement. ie. myself You may want to keep a food/symptom journal to see if other foods are causing you issues, like the dairy. For some folks, pasta would bring on post-meal tiredness. If this is the case for you, you could always err on...
  25. All sara lee packaged meats are gluten-free. My favorite is the deli selects. Also, hormel has a new "natural" lunch meat brand, in a brown box. It says gluten-free on the back. I buy all packaged meats b/c I do not want to deal with potential CC from a meat slicer in the deli.
