  1. One of my client's are working on this (even a scone). We are having some issues with them rising correctly, but that's what food scientists are for. Stay tuned, we may have something by the 3rd quarter of this year.
  2. Oh no! Try and book the PS again in the future. It's really worth the trip.
  3. Seriously, go into a store that has a vast selection of vitamins (branded and private label). Enter the store with no intention of even making a purchase, just go on a fact finding mission. I'd even suggest that you take in some paper and pen to document the insights. Ask for someone who is knowledgeable on all supplements. They will even help you with...
  4. I'll have to start with the obvious question, what type of exercise does he get each day? Post that and I can make some more assumptions.
  5. You will only get a Gluten Free requested meal if you are confirmed in business or first class 48 hours prior to an INTERNATIONAL departure. But even if you are in Economy or Economy Plus on an International flight, you will have the option to pre-pay one of their new "Premium Meal Options". They are always changing and can be a bit pricey ($18-$19...
  6. When it comes to any peanut butter ALWAYS opt for all natural and one with 100% peanuts, that way you won't be wondering if some other random ingredient may be causing chaos to your systems. For example, the ingredients of Peter Pan peanut butter: Roasted peanuts, sugar, partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (cottonseed and rapeseed), salt. Hmmm
  7. Make sure you consult with your doctor about vitamins and supplements as well. I didn't see anywhere that you were taking the "usual suspects" (multi-vitamin, fish oil, fiber, etc.) but I am sure that you are. It all adds up... in a good way though!
  8. Just flew round trip from Los Angeles to London this past week. Per my request, gluten free meals were served on both legs and I was quite impressed. I even had a special goat cheese omelet just before landing in London. One of the flight attendants even chatted with me about Celiac disease for a good portion of the flight. A+ to United Airlines.
  9. Before I go and give you specific brands to look for, I'm going to have you take a different angle. Go to an independent store in your town that has a very large vitamin selection. In most cases, stores like this have VERY knowledgeable staff members who work the floor. Let them know what your concerns (and budget) and they will point you in the right...
  10. My best friend has absolutely NO issues with gluten. BUT, he has stomach issues like you did when he eats uncooked garlic. Here's the kicker.... he has no problems if it is cooked. He can eat those carmelized/baked garlic cloves that you see at Italian restaurants and be fine. But, raw garlic in... say... salsa puts him over the edge. See what the...
  11. Jess: Allison's advice is spot on! Follow it to a "T" and you should be seeing that unwanted belly fat melt away. Keep shopping the perimeter of the store and don't be bashful about the produce items that Allison mentioned. Get that natural fiber! Keep us posted and good luck!
  12. If you have followed any of my other posts, I do not hide the fact that I am a proud carnivore. I have friends who used to work at a variety of the non-profit meat boards and you should be good to go on aged beef. I believe you that it's probably the best meat that you have ever had in your life. I feel the same. PS - My parents own two steak restaurants...
  13. One other thing to consider.... Start where the hair grows and the best thing for that is a good multi-vitamin and fish oil. Both have an effect on how healthy your skin and hair can become. During a physical with your primary care physician, have you ever noticed that they look at your nails and hair to see what type of nutrition you are getting?...
  14. Whoa! This sounds awesome. And what I love about it is the fact that you are posting a pumpkin recipe outside the months of October and November. You know, we should petition the Halloween and Thanksgiving Commission to release their possession of pumpkin marketing to ALL 12 months. In all seriousness, I am going to make this for a gluten-free potluck...
  15. Hi Christian: Before I throw in my 2 cents, I am curious what you fresh produce intake is per day. Secondly, what are your typical protein sources for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you help me fill in those blanks, I'll give you some definitive direction.
  16. Hi TigerCat: Out of curiosity are you also taking Fish Oil? If so, what kind and how often. If not, you should start ASAP. The benefits are absolutely amazing and it's a perfect compliment to your current gluten-free vitamins. GlutenGladi8or
  17. And if you really want to give it a Mediterranean feel (Hey, that's where kabobs originated), put the skewers on a bed of rice and get some carbs as well. Back to my posting about the spice shop, I have a bottle that I bought last year called "Mount Olympus Greek Style Seasoning". I bet that this seasoning would be a perfect compliment to any meat kabob...
  18. I also like to hard boil several dozen eggs. Keep them in a zip lock and on ice. You can even peel them before you leave. Eggs are nearly a perfect hi protein snack (toss the yolk if your worried about cholesterol).
  19. You actually want a day of rest between working any muscle groups. Remember, you don't BUILD muscle by lifting weight... you build it when your body has time to rest and sleep. That's why you want to alternate days and do cardio on your off days. And even though a pull up may differ from a push up, you have a tendency to use some of the same muscles...
  20. Boy I hear you on this one as I used to be the Director of Marketing for the second largest all natural and organic frozen foods company. The good news was that I was surrounded with as much free food as I wanted, the bad news was that it lacked some serious protein. So onto the recommendations! Always try to find meats that are less than double digit...
  21. I am not naming names, but make sure that you read the ingredients in many of the national frozen dinners. Some are loaded with fillers and preservatives. Look for the "Natural & Organic" sign in the freezer and you'll see that they are loaded with CLEAN gluten-free items that are sure to please.
  22. Hey Katharos: Although you didn't specify, I'm going to assume that you are a male due to your height. If that is not correct, please let me know. If that is correct, please keep in mind that males require quite a deal more protein if you want to build muscle. With that said, try and incorporate LEAN animal protein into everyone of your eating incidences...
  23. is ready to seize the day!

  24. Many of the club stores (Sam's, Costco, etc.) have packs of all natural lunch meats that are HPP'd (High Pressure Pasteurized). That's a fancy word for a vacuum packing technique that gives 100+ days of shelf life if it's unopened. And, many of them have re-sealable bags. Grab a loaf of gluten-free bread, and your favorite condiment, and you have plenty...
  25. I would follow ShopGirl's advice to a "T". Shop the perimeter of the store for fresh produce, seafood, and chicken. Good call on the H2O consumption and I would even up it to 80-90 ounces. The only thing is that I love red meat and "The Other White Meat". Then again, I'm a male and I am trying to pack on muscle while staying lean. As ShopGirl noted...
