ARCHIVED What A Difference A Year (Well Four Years) Makes!
IrishHeart replied to GottaSki's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My friend with MS adopted a grain free diet back in 1987 (this was all her "radical" idea back then) when she was DXed. That woman is in better shape than anyone I know, keeping her MS at bay for 25 years. Do we both think she was probably a celiac? yup. Inadvertently, she has kept her MS from progressing that much and I think she's amazing! -

MW The American comedians often rag on the state of teeth in the UK, which I find unfunny. Do you think perhaps there is more widespread unDXed coeliac (see what I did there ) by any chance? I mean, why would one population have such a hard time with their teeth? I'm just speculating here. Interestingly enough, I read THIS article about celiac... -

Ok, now you've made me cry. And I was already a blubbery mess all day long anyway. Colleen, you've inspired me in more ways than I can count. I think it's safe to say we're all warrior princesses? Love and hugs! -
Could be a dairy intolerance? or and I am just throwing this out here for your consideration, because the same thing happened to me and to another member (I'll let her pipe in here if she wants to) and I knew full well it could not possibly be a gluten reaction.. If you do not have a thyroid problem or some other health issue, perhaps it is a...

Actually, I did not post it to make you mad and I did forget about your dairy limitations. Forgive me, as I am not thinking clearly at all right now. the Boston tragedy has shaken me to the core and I did not sleep much.. Anyway...someday, we will have ALL the yummy things we cannot have right now (my list has about 25 things on it) so do not despair... -

I agree with Shroom and Peter. If it helps, I had to take a med once and it was made was by TEVA pharmaceuticals and I was comfortable with their reply to me via email that it did not contain gluten. Nothing bad happened to me as a result and I'm pretty sensitive. -

" You know you're a Noo Englandah when...." You can wear flip flops and shorts one day and boots and scarves the next ....during March, April and sometimes May and October. You think 50 degree water is " a:good swimming temp" You think 8 inches of snow is a "dusting". -

I knew she was MIA but still "A-OK" (but only because she kept me apprised of her house hunting/transition). Poor Squirmy was up to her arse in paperwork and moving boxes So glad you're settling in, sweets! I do not use the "optional cheese" addition in the Chebe mixes either and yes, I DO wet my hands and it comes out fine. I make J work the dough... -

whoohoo! I've had everything crossed and just knew you'd come out the other side with good news. Don't know that many who can remain as positive and cheery as you have been during all this stress. Rest up, get rid of that cold and enjoy the warmer weather you are getting! So happy for you, Colleen. xxx -

SKI Good luck with the appropriate home-hunting for your Mom. I was incredibly lucky (read as: pushy but charming and right place/ right time) when doing this for MIL#1, MIL#2, and Dad. This is the time in our lives when the children become the parents. sigh. Have a glass of something (and one for me) when you get home. MW & Addy the hubs dips... -
Hi Hyper, Welcome to the forum! I am not sure why we are prone to more migraines than most, (and I had my share of them for years-they are awful! ) but there are some theories out there. I associate anything inflammatory in my body with celiac, so I suspect that's why I had them so bad. The good news is: they can stop off gluten! "While researchers...
