  1. you're preachin' to the choir, sister. The Italians have it right--screen the babes for the genes, test regularly and stop the madness before it starts. (You know, people like us become rabid about this BECAUSE we have lost the years to it. We make it our "mission" to educate. We may also annoy others with it all, but so be it.) ***** ...
  2. ya know, for a second there, I was thinkin...that's not like Bunzer bean to be such a beyotch making her arthritic mama go get it herself. Good thing you cleared that up. and hello, you silly pants--missed ya!
  3. My guess? A large number of kids labeled with ADD are gluten intolerants. Plenty of adult celiacs talk about having once had "ADD". My brain was so deeply affected by celiac/gluten and I had "ADD"-like issues, too. It was impossible to function at top speed. It was like trying to think with stoner brain and look through vaseline eyes. I had major difficulty...
  4. I think we discussed this a few times, too--and I agree--and can totally relate. When we are first healing, it IS very difficult to see that constant, chronic inflammation and a raw gut makes it impossible to determine what helps & what doesn't and we often think it is "this food, that food, this additive, etc" and we drive ourselves mad with it...
  5. A, I just ordered some and I will most definitely keep you posted. I am all for trying things and seeing if it helps. Just nobody suggest bungie jumping to me. I am so happy to see you feeling so well, hon!!

oh me, too. My body was in flames and all those "therapies"---did squat! I spent thousands of dollars on various things, and NOTHING worked. Once I figured out it was celiac, well, things started to improve. I think we all need a combo of things to heal. It's never "just go gluten-free" and you'll be fine. Not at my age anyway. I had various vitamin...
  7. 5 kiddos! God bless! The thing is caffeine just jacks up your central nervous system and then you crash hard--which just doubles the fatigue. It's a solution, but it's temporary. (you already know this, I am sure) Did your doctor check your B-12, D and folate levels? These contribute to fatigue. When mine were tanked, I felt like...
  8. or * like a star
  9. probably. Has your doc checked your ANA, sed rate, c-reactive protein etc. for inflammatory diseases?

I still have a long road to go, but YES! I am healing. I knew that getting the parasympathetic nervous system to calm the heck down was the only way to stop the long term (and I mean YEARS of) insomnia, pain pathways and the rapidly-firing nerves. I cannot explain adequately how very bad I was, Tiffany:( I thought my nerves were fried for good from celiac...
  11. I LOVES me some punkin' pie....!(drool) Santa always brings us what we want. happy day tomorrow, sweets!
  12. Good idea, considering all the prep you are doing for Thanksgiving tomorrow Happy Thanksgiving, SORA!... and to all our Canadian friends!! like Love2Travel...who is in Croatia right now. I am making chicken cacciatore tonight IN THE SLOW COOKER....I am so glad you gals told me to break that thing out of the dusty box and USE it. Never...
  13. They do, I saw it when I googled !! Bummer, we do not have a Whole Foods or a Wegmans--but they should be here by 2014, I have learned.... whoohoo! I had to resort to the ever-popular "delivery by amazon".
  14. I felt the same way as a "newbie" . When I finally got affirmation that I did, indeed, have celiac, I was deathly ill. I could not swallow anything without intense burning in my mouth...and all the way down my GI tract to my rectum. I did not want to eat either. Who would want to? We either throw it up or lose it in the loo....so, I would try small...
  15. The leading cancer organization does not think this treatment is wise nor is it approved for use in the US. Open Original Shared Link
  16. Your opinion of peer-reviewed medical articles aside, there isn't much posted here because again, people with inflammatory bowel diseases should not have regular enemas. The colon's lining is raw and damaged. If someone is suffering from severe constipation, that is a different story.
  17. ....or as I have suggested.....just a cool symbol that means "the artist formerly known as squirmy"
  18. First of all, you are replying to a thread that is over 3 years old and the original poster may not see it. Secondly, I would never recommend an enema, especially a coffee enema ---to anyone with celiac or inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's. "...... it has been reported to cause rectal burns from high temperatures, and inflammation of the colon...
  19. Hon, do not be afraid to eat. okay. Your body needs nourishment. Make a shopping list of the foods you know are okay for you. Gradually, you can add more foods back in. Take it slowly, but by all means, EAT. Welcome to the forum.
  20. beotch shroom, I just sent a bunch of articles to a family member re: COPD and celiac. Guess we can add it to the ever-growing list of related diseases, I am afraid.
  21. oh baby, do I need this!! I still have wicked inflammation and I have tried EVERYTHING suggested to me. I mean it. (Even weirdo stuff I would never admit to openly.) Ok, I just read this: "If there's one plant to have on hand at all times that provides a cure for arthritis, an herbal treatment for allergies, relieves hair loss, treats Celiac disease...
  22. I never do. Not when it comes to anything having to do with the medical community....or celiac...or human nature.
  23. Your post moved me to tears. I can honestly say I "feel your pain" and frustration because I lived it. I had a total hysterectomy because of the mess I was in. I could never carry to term. It is a shame your GYN missed this simple diagnosis for so long and that anyone doubted your level of pain. Sorry, honey. There are many GYN issues, including endo...
  24. "quite twisty and turvy" hmm...that's a new one.
  25. ...and I apparently sang to the hubs all the way home in the car and HE had to make my sammy for me. But I was not hungry until later in the day. I am not the "norm" however. I react adversely to many drugs. but whew, I am glad others are chiming in here and admitting they get a tad loopy from the drugs. Peg, your experience may be different...
