Sorry, J. Ice. Ice. Ice. -
Good for you. Just take one day at a time. It's like anything new--it's an adjustment and it takes some will power--but it's achievable. In the long run, you are going to feel so much better! Your muscles, joints, lungs, skin--everything will clean out-- and you'll see a difference. You won't feel so jittery after a few days, too. So, just hang...

When Colleen was very dehydrated and feeling nauseous etc., I told her what my hubs gave me when I was very ill and dehydrated from major D and vomiting (before DX). 16 oz. of pure water mixed with 1 TBLS. of sugar 1 tsp. of salt Balances your electrolytes. What did you think, I had brought her something back from Lourdes? or...

Well, Sky beat me to it....thanks, SKY!!! but, really honey, we need to get you over the "ICK" thing you have about SOOOOO many things. Sky? Colleen is afraid of bugs..... and apparently, thinks other things look like bugs too, including harmless fennel seeds. But we're being extra nice and understanding of her because she is quitting smoking... -

ARCHIVED Multiple Food Intolerances During Healing?
IrishHeart replied to Sunny1008's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
As I mentioned to you on your other threads, healing takes time. Those foods you listed are major gut irritants. It does not mean they are additional food intolerances, okay? It's only been 3 weeks, hon. Everything will seem like a problem right now. Read any literature ( or ask anyone on here) and you'll see healing time varies from 6 months... -

I went to this blogger's site, but the links she provided went to "error" pages, so I can't see what you are trying to say. Sorry. Nothing there. If it is the vinegar, you are concerned about maybe this will help? Vinegar is gluten free. Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Know Of Good Remedies For A Gluten Reaction?
IrishHeart replied to goblue2014's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Aside from the tips Skylark has given you, I am afraid there is not much more to be done except wait it out. I know it is not easy ( I suffer a week- long fun ride myself after a CC). I usually increase my water intake (and I already drink a lot anyway) and take digestive enzymes and extra probiotics for a week. No scientific evidence it helps, but I feel... -

Well, I am doing the happy dance for you. I will, in fact, stand up and applaud you right now...hold on....(sounds of IH clapping wildly) I know you were not super crazy about the ground flax seed idea, but we told ya it would do the trick! That stuff is full of fiber and omega 3's. It's a win-win. And for what it is worth, I knew where every... -

Colleen, You are so cute and you continue to amuse me. Fennel seeds freak you out? Look at it this way, they are a lot smaller than the horned tomato worms you love so much. Crack just one fennel seed open and see if you like the aroma. AWESOME flavor, but a little goes a long way. Glad to see you are experimenting in the kitchen! yaaay! IH -

ARCHIVED Discouraged About My Diet - Need Support Please
IrishHeart replied to Sunny1008's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sweetie, The "norm" is 6 months to a year for recovery. As for cooking, what did you eat BEFORE the DX? Meat, potatoes, veggies, rice, fruits, nuts, eggs, beans, stews, soups, right? You can still Eat THOSE. In place of bread or pasta, choose ONE Certified gluten-free product. Maybe Canyon Bakehouse or Rudy's bread and Tinkyada Pasta or BiAglut... -
I should add: if you are talking about grinding, I use a coffee grinder for that task.

Our Kitchen Aid stand mixer has worked well for us for years. (Superfine flours and all) No flours flying anywhere. (unless hubs is in charge ) and the Cuisinart Food Processor handles the rest. (small breads, muffins, paleo breads, etc) Hope this helps.
