Steam or cook the veggies --instead of eating them raw until your gut feels better. Yes, anything is possible until your gut heals. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free And Constipated
IrishHeart replied to jenhunter's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I suggest a Tablespoon of ground flaxseed in 16 oz. of water morning and night for a week and upping your intake of fibrous veggies. Use the ground flaxseed in smoothies, baked goods, or in yogurt or cottage cheese. (if you tolerate dairy) Drink a lot of water. Unless you have another condition or disease, often lack of water in the system is a contributing... -

ARCHIVED Breakfast Sausage
IrishHeart replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
That's okay! I figured out it was the Pot or pan I was using (All-Clad) on my new stove. I HATE not having a gas stove. Can't knock the heat down fast enough for my taste. and...when I use my old cheapo non-stick pan, no problem. Fancy pan? sticks. Mystery solved. -
ARCHIVED Ground Flax Seed
IrishHeart replied to Skittles's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I also add a Tablespoon to a smoothie and into baked goods and I have been known to drink it in 16oz. of water, too. You should not bloat up from it, but if you do, use less for a while and work your way up. It's great for Omega 3s, reducing inflammation and "keeping things running smoothy". -

ARCHIVED Celiac, Lymph Nodes, & Lymphoma
IrishHeart replied to HeavenSings's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
There is a risk of developing lymphoma with long undiagnosed celiac. But your chances go down, to those of any other person's risk factor-- the longer you remain gluten-free. There are several pub med articles about this topic, but here is a summary: "Lymphomas: Cancer of the lymphatic system that begins in the lymphoid tissue. Who Gets GI Lymphomas... -
Photography and being out in the fresh air is good. (having suffered intense jaw pain, I soooo get that.) We're photographers in this house, too. It's a great way to lose yourself in the creative process. okay, here's another idea: You need a massage! Go get one!! It will relax your muscles and detox the tissues. and you...

ARCHIVED Anyone Taking A Vitamin B12 Supplement?
IrishHeart replied to josh052980's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It should not make you feel THAT bad, but I agree that you should not take ANY B supps unless you need them. What did your blood work reveal? I am living proof that over-supplementing causes more harm than good (nerve pain and burning, agitation, insomnia, pounding heart, and a dozen other issues) I was B-12 deficient and folate deficient, so I dosed... -
ARCHIVED Auto Immune Disorders
IrishHeart replied to redgouramis's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Welcome! I agree with Lisa. Sorry, but Celiac is not diagnosed by a chiropractor or by muscle testing. There is no scientific or medical evidence to support this practice. Celiac is DXed by blood panels and/or biopsy, medical history and genetic testing. DH is DXed by biopsy of the area around the lesions. You should be evaluated by a medical... -

Having worn a holter monitor about 15 or more times in my life, I can say this....at least, it doesn't hurt! Oh, sweets, you're in the "yuck phase" now...cravings. Eat low fat snacks and drink water. Don't try to go to bed too early, you will just toss and turn. PM me if you want my phone number. I'll talk to you! Totally serious. Disclaimer...

ARCHIVED Can Someone Explain The Iodine Thing?
IrishHeart replied to LindsayS's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I agree with you, Rose. And I know what EatMeat4Good had to do to get hers to stop flaring. She reported it to me nearly every other day for a year. But she did it! I asked SQUIRMY and MEATIE to jump in here because I know they have dealt with this. from Celiac Disease: A Hidden Epidemic by Dr. Peter Green and Rory Jones: "DH is... -
ARCHIVED Kraft And Cross-Contamination O.0
IrishHeart replied to cavernio's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We've tried to explain it repeatedly ---how the policy and labeling law works. Veteran members have given you their best advice and assured you the company's policy is solid. Instead of listening, you are insulting others and suggesting people are lying to you. I had so hoped you would come back today and feel more assured, but you persist in arguing the... -

Yes, everyone, I have a pool !!! and I think you should all come soak in it, but I have to report it is a balmy 82 in there--not really refreshing at all. Might as well be in a tub. ARCHIVED Breakfast Sausage
IrishHeart replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
That's the truth! I prefer the ground turkey, too (in most things I sub in for the red meat ) and so, may I ask you, when you use it recipes, do you notice it is much drier (from lack of fat) and therefore, seems to stick to the pan? I make a chili with ground turkey and boy, I have a hard time keeping it from getting TOO brown and stuck to the bottom... -
