  1. Bulloney!...if I were in a fight tomorrow, I'd want you as my wing man. I know you're a scrappy lil thing!! but we are really, really HIGHJACKING this thread --so we need to FOCUS and stay ON TOPIC----and we need to ask the OP if her question was answered?? O P? well??
  2. I am so happy to know that anything I say helps in any way, hon. Cheers, IH P.S My best friend has hemochromatosis. Will YOU tell her that is connected to gluten/celiac, please? she will not listen to me.
  3. If you were standing right here in my kitchen right now, I do not know who would hug you first, me or my hubs. yes, I can say croquembouche and Dacquoise, but my pants split at the very mention. The problem is, my chocolate ganache and cream cheese/buttercream frosting will continue to make us chubby. HE can work out at the gym. I cannot ....
  4. I am a woman, yes. "Lady"--um, doubtful. I would not mess with me.
  5. well, of course you would, darlin!! You have a big heart, a sense of humor and a spirit that soars above all adversity.
  6. You too, honey. Get a good night's rest. Tomorrow is another day!!! (picture IH dressed as Scarlett O'Hara delivering that line) BTW, one of the worst lines attributed to a strong, classic heroine!
  7. Was getting ready to say this to him AGAIN, but you beat me to it. Thanks, Raven! WE need to EAT--Celiacs need to eat. We were in starvation mode long enough.
  8. methinks Nick "gets our humor" and will fit right in here.
  9. This is NOT entirely true. High B-12 and B-6 in the system is NOT good. It can cause burning neuropathy. Get your vitamins from FOOD. My doc took me off all B's for a while because ONCE YOU START ABSORBING, THOSE B'S WILL BUILD UP. I had a B-12 and B-6 and B-9 (folate) deficiency and I supplemented heavily and then, it became too much. My levels...
  10. We know, sweetie, gluten head makes us STOOOPID. You're going to be okay ((HUGS)) PS Your doggie is adorable!
  11. Now, here's a girl after my own heart!
  12. Thanks for the dieting tips, but we already have our smoothies every morning with berries of all kinds, pineapple, kale, flax seed, and honey and we get lots of fruits in our diets. I eat little in the way of "goodies". I am talking about our weekend sweet that LOVE2TRAVEL knows I bake from scratch for my hubs that we need to cut back on a little.
  13. true, true! . Allergies are very different from intolerances. (which is why I never refer to celiac as a gluten allergy) But with celiac, I do not think these things are coincidences. And an IgE -mediated allergy to gluten grain makes sense to me! Just my humble opinion, of course.
  14. I have floaters too. They are considered harmless ( by those who don't have them, I suspect) and they are annoying. if they suddenly INCREASE or your vision gets very blurry or you have flashes of light, RUN to the nearest ER. You could have a detached retina. I had that happen last month on vacation and it was not a retinal detachment, thank God...
  15. ooh, that stuff is for colonoscopy preps. Makes me so sick and then dehydrates me. be careful, hon!
  16. FANTASTIC ideas!! Thanks for reminding us all. It is best to require the whole food item be replaced, not just "fixed". I used to work in kitchens and I KNOW what some cranky chefs did when food was sent back. You want NEW everything.
  17. Oh, these are FAB!! Love it!!!!!!
  18. Clever--see this is why we pay her the big bucks!!
  19. Same in this house, but even HE said...babe, my pants are getting tight....
  20. Many people have what's called Silent Celiac. They have no overt GI symptoms, but OTHER health conditions. My head swam with that tinnitis and buzzing. It was awful. I thought I was tripping sometimes. I felt disoriented and banged off walls when I walked, covered in bruises. I felt like I was in slo-mo and on a moving sidewalk at times, too. The vertigo...
  21. true, true, dear Love2 "Adversity reveals true character". I learned that how I reacted to stress was not always beneficial. Eating, drinking, drugs, getting angry....throwing things off bridges, strangling that lady who cut me off in Boston traffic. (I served 8 years for that. Got off on a technicality) but I learned to meditate and do Tai Chi...
  22. Veal Osso Bucco Risotto Milanese with Saffron Roasted asparagus Absolutely NO dessert. IH is getting chubby. The GI doc says it's okay, eat up, but my pants strongly object. Hooray for healing.
  23. HOORAY!! Yaaay!! and Thank you, Jess!!! I know, I'm easily amused.
