  1. Yes, you could have hypoglycemia, but I would see your doctor about these symptoms. They could ALSO be related to your heart (blood pressure), your female or adrenal hormones, your thyroid or any other organs/systems in your body. Could you be pregnant? Feeling faint while working out is nothing to ignore. Feeling lightheaded while you are driving...
  2. I think that's very clever. My Mom used to say: "This isn't a diner, you'll eat what I'm serving." And we did. Here is what I know: I would not allow gluten in my house to satisfy anyone's demands. Absolutely not.
  3. I have held a bag of wheat flour in my hands and never had a rash. But I get a bunch of blisters on my scalp and face if I ingest gluten and I have felt pretty light-headed if I inhale any of it. Swallowing the gluten is necessary. You could get a contact rash from wheat if you ALSO have a wheat allergy IN addition to Celiac. You would likely also...
  4. sorry, hon--hope you feel better soon. We had grilled chicken. I marinated it in pomegranate vinaigrette. Some grilled asparagus and cole slaw with pineapple chunks and cranberries on the side. Watching my bikini figure.
  5. My beautiful lab, Gracie always ate around zucchini in a bowl full of vegetable soup...why? She did not like zucchini, I guess. I will never ever know how they can tell what's tasty and what isn't ...that silly dog once ate her way through a box of Snuggle fabric sheets.
  6. Go read the Tiramisu thread....
  7. Just shows us that the canine's taste buds are more evolved than ours. I watched my friend's dog catapult a gluten-free biscuit so far across the back yard, I was thinking he could win a spitting contest. It was like in a cartoon...I could almost see the PATOOIE!!!!! as it flew across the sky. and PS...I think it works fine in the Coping...
  8. Your GI hasn't read any current information on Celiac Disease symptoms then. I had ALL of those symptoms you describe and more.
  9. I am, too. You said "a trip to a trusted acupuncturist showed a strong sensitivity to all grains, even tho allergy panel didn't show that" What test was performed?
  10. ((HUGS))) Tell your mother that it is impossible to "make your body not used to gluten". Totally medically impossible. If we do not eat a food for years, we do not suddenly develop an inability to eat it. I don't have lobster except in the summer. I don't eat pumpkin except in the fall. I cannot afford truffle oil, but when I can I buy it...
  11. I am waiting for you to retire so we can do this. Lawd knows we have enough talent in this group alone to run one, feed them well and entertain them nightly while we all sip our wine.... we have artists, musicians, cooks, bakers....O mama, we could make a fortune, meet more wonderful celiacs and live happily ever after.
  12. A kitchen is always handy, IMO but yes, now you have some dining out options!!
  13. Okay, one friend who lives near there replied to me via email already Their family is gluten-free. She said: "There is a great burger joint called In N Out. They cater to folks with allergens and it is yummy! Order the burger protein style which is wrapped in lettuce and let them know that you have a wheat allergy so they wipe the grill before...
  14. Hubs found it for us and I transported a carton of coconut milk, his half and half, some fruit, mayo, mustard, deli meat & cheese, yogurt, butter and water in it. Holds more than I imagined. Another bag held some microwavable soups, cereal, crackers, Peanut butter, 2 bowls, spoons, a knife and bread, etc. I never thought traveling for 3 days would be...
  15. Do you have one of these by any chance? Worked very well for our 3 day drive to Florida! ( I got it from amazon) Open Original Shared Link
  16. That is a beautiful place, K! Hope you have a wonderful time. ooh, Go to the Monterey Aquarium. Go to Big Sur. (when I was there in 2003, I was not Dxed yet, so I have no clue what's safe, but I can ask people who live around there.) In the meantime, check this out: Open Original Shared Link just put in the city you want and...
  17. Is there any other kind? P.S. (I know there are, but they don't count) I'm a lobstah snob.
  18. I think so, too. Cross-contamination can happen anywhere. It's just the way it is, I'm afraid.
  19. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
  20. I do, I do, hon! (and the CHEBE makes a good pizza crust, too. Thanks again for that suggestion! ) It's a good quickie dinner with a salad when I "take the day off" from cooking(Friday night) and hubs is gone golfing all afternoon.
  21. Welcome! and breakfast for dinner works for us!
  22. I think you are wise to continue to pursue what is keeping you ill and headed for a wheelchair. I was in your position for 3 years and had I not been relentless, I do not know what would have become of me. Wheelchair, mental health ward, dead. I am still rehabbing my weak muscles a year and a half after DX. I had major loss of muscle mass. I still have bone...
  23. Adalaide, you are delightfully honest. How are those arepas?
  24. Just try cutting the coffee out for a while and see if it helps? I eat gluten-free Rice Krispies sometimes or I may also have some fruit and toast (I make my bread with a high fiber flour blend)with Pb or almond butter. I have smoothies with fruit, kale and ground flaxseed meal, which is great for fiber. You can try a TBLSP. of ground flax seeds...
