  1. ?? No clue, sorry. It is not a full celiac panel report. No worries about adapting to the gluten-free life. You are in the right place to learn! We'll help. Most people start with a whole foods diet, but incorporate Certified gluten-free foods into their diets. Make sure you get enough protein. Many people also dump dairy at first. Start...
  2. Cold soups for summer. Good idea, K. Gazpacho (I'm pretty sure I got this from the Barefoot Contessa's collection) Serves: 4 - 6 servings Ingredients 1 hothouse cucumber, halved and seeded, but not peeled 2 red bell peppers, cored and seeded 4 plum tomatoes 1 red onion 3 garlic cloves, minced 23 ounces tomato juice...
  3. Jane, hon-- Please call the doctor whose name I gave to you. He is the best at rooting out the source of the problem. I see you are still suffering and I really think he can help you. for digestive enzymes, I use Digest Gold from Enzymedica. I would suggest you do not use once containing Betaine HCL unless you are sure you have low stomach acid...
  4. I said this to hubs and mentioned how he also has paranoia, insomnia, and anxiety...but hubs said "um, take it easy, you see celiacs everywhere"....I said "Because they ARE everywhere." it's true, I do...like that little boy in the movies who sees dead people?
  5. She is so clever and talented, perhaps she even made it herself!!
  6. and me wee little toes, too.
  7. Atta girl, keep that sense of humor. You're gonna need it. Saved me from swan-diving off a cliff during this mess (pre-DX and post). Wish we could tell you definitively what will happen on this healing journey, but alas, we cannot. No playbook, no set time pattern for recovery and certainly no "one size fits all" answers. Every BODY is different...
  8. Humor saved me from from swan-diving off a bridge for 3 years while I searched for what made me so ill. Without that, we're all doomed. oh, and beer and gin helps....
  9. I dunno...I think "beer snobs" works just fine!!!
  10. I agree with Raven.!!! I would start my gluten free life and healing process right now. Your celiac testing is done.
  11. I would call the doctor's office. Why did they release the pathology report to you without interpretation? Ridiculous. There are 3 things that I see here (but I am not a doctor, so I cannot tell you what they mean exactly) (1) You have normal villous architecture (meaning no blunting) (but this is also consistent with LATENT celiac disease) and...
  12. I know, hon. I was there myself. Horrible way to live. This is going to change!! Lay off dairy for a bit, maybe? Drink water, take probiotics and digestive enzymes before meals.
  13. Em, eeyup....I found the "outfit" a little disturbing myself (as I do not think dogs like to wear humiliating clothing ) but maybe she likes it and it makes her happy (recall my Mom's expression?) She looks pretty happy. My dog would have ripped that thing off with her teeth in about 5 seconds. Hats, scarves, that sort of thing? uh uh...Gracie...
  14. NEW PLANET GREEN's NEW GRIST (hub's favs) I LIKE GIN.
  15. I was very ill for quite some time and I had dozens of symptoms, so this question is very difficult to answer without clarification. Some symptoms resolved within 10-11 months, (most of the gastro and dermatological issues resolved by then as well as the anemias (B-12, folate, iron) and blurry vision, burning mouth and burning GI tract, etc. stopped...
  16. Now, here are some neighbors I would find fun!! Open Original Shared Link
  17. he reminds me of someone who has taken waaaaay too many hits of speed, drank 6 cups of coffee, some red bull and ate 8 donuts. Verrrry chatty, loud talker, veins pop out in his forehead, eyes bug out.
  18. yes, I wish he WOULD chill out with a doob. Maybe he'd calm the hell down. Oh no, I am in NY now. This kid was raised "down South" somewhere, he tells us, but he's a native NOO YAWKAH.
  19. Okay, hon! Well, good luck and do let us know how you make out. Maybe you will feel so much better off gluten, that when you go back on to "re-gluten" for the biopsy, you'll understand what we mean about why some people just bag the challenge and go with DX from the blood test. We can still help you out with a gluten-free diet, etc!!
  20. I have one question for you. If you are not a celiac, and are not interested in anything we have to say to help you, which is what we do on here (and since you certainly do not know that newly-diagnosed celiacs are too malnourished and weak to fast) then: Why are you on this site then? No one said fasting is "dumb", we said it is inappropriate and...
  21. If'n his dog don't knock me down and eat my arm (BUCK is a 150 lb. mastiff with a head the size of a basketball ), I may have a chance to get up the driveway....
  22. No, sorry I was not clear. What I meant was...he is very vocal AGAINST the use of drugs. Claims he found some major pot plants in the acreage next to ours and "we can't have that kind of thing around here" blah blah bluster bluster I never met anyone who was cranked up on weed either. And I do not think he's got a meth lab going over there. We...
  23. One more thought: You should give yourself some major kudos for dealing with this diagnosis and recovery while overseas. You have been your own best advocate. I cannot imagine how difficult this has been for you. People have enough trouble planning what to eat here, where everything is written in English. So, picture me standing up and...
  24. Well, just think of us as a gigantic cushy trampoline. You can bounce all that stuff off us, and we'll let you go a little wild and crazy and somersault yourself around while you flay your arms in the air, ranting a bit and then, we'll softly catch you when you come back to earth. Safe landing. uh-huh!..pretty good metaphor, eh? made that up...
  25. and speaking of my gluten-free Mom....... She told me yesterday, she has not used Nexium or Tums or Maalox since last year. She said after about 5 months of being gluten-free ---and then giving up her huge glass of milk everyday--(I got her to try So Delicious Coconut Milk) all that pain vanished. She felt like she was having a heart attack and wanted...
