  1. Celiacs suffer from malnourishment from malabsorption and a serious lack of nutrients and vitamins --and the last thing you want to do is starve your body even more. Fasting is NOT a good idea. Do not do this. You're fatigued from being ill for a long time, hon. Your body will start to rebound the longer you remain gluten free and your gut...
  2. It is wonderful that you have found what works for you. But I have to add that colonics, cleansings and fasting are CONTRAINDICATED in celiacs who are already malnourished from long UnDXed Celiac. The gastrointestinal lining is already damaged and inflamed. People with certain conditions, such as celiac, diverticular disease, ulcerative colitis...
  3. I have been a pain in the arse about telling celiacs to take probiotics since I joined this forum because I had no detectable good bacteria upon DX. That's not good at all. It took me 10 months to straighten my gut and GI tract out. Not a "solution" but certainly a great help at healing the gut and reducing inflammation. And for people with serious...
  4. GASP!! and with a thud, IH fell to the floor, faint from the very thought........
  5. Sorry your plans are being disrupted, Babs. I know you are planning on seeing Dr. Fasano. IMHO, you MUST keep this appointment. You have issues that need attention. You are suffering. The fact that you are NOT doing well is the very reason you should also consider if living abroad is contributing to this problem. I am grateful for your husband...
  6. Okay, well, this post just moved me to joyful tears. IH is standing up and wildly applauding you!! Those of us who "return from the dead" after years of debilitating illness are warriors. I am thrilled for you for reclaiming your life and moving forward with purpose. I continue to do the same. One amazing day at a time, filled with gratitude...

  8. This bunny-lover thinks you're very sweet to feed them The ones on our property know better than to eat anything I plant.
  9. we've had a slow start this year...
  10. Good for you, girl! Our toms and herbs are in as of yesterday. and it was (weirdly) 93 yesterday, so yes, this girl got some D too (vitamin D that is)
  11. Nice pun, kwylee and absolutely agree---on the re-testing! Also, those of us in the NE states--less sunny here, sadly----and LOVETOTRAVEL--well, she is still in winter up there, I think! LOVEY? well, did the snow melt yet???
  12. Braised lamb shanks with leeks and carrots Risotto with saffron Coffee ice cream (sometimes a girl just wants a nice bowl of "scream")
  13. Yes, it is true that it does provide some Vitamin D for maintaining adequate D levels. People with severely tanked levels from long term malabsorption (as mine were) are not going to get their levels up quickly enough to stop serious symptoms by just laying out in the sun. Some of us can't even lie or sit down comfortably for long because we have bone...
  14. I'll bet!!!!!!!!!!!! Not having them --could be very, very dangerous.
  15. ....which reminds me, I am glad I have my eyes!!!
  16. Hey MO!! I wonder if you have seen any of gluten free girl's posts? She has replaced x-gum in all her recipes. Chia seeds and flax seeds and boiling water. Check it out. I may do this myself as I have also been wondering about x-gum! Open Original Shared Link
  17. I'm just going to say it. You're a nice guy. Just so you know. And Gee Free, I'm glad for my Mom and Daddy, too. (yes, I called him that even into my 50's) They taught me to be tenacious which saved my life. and I am most grateful for my hubs. My rock and my heartbeat. You see, Dani, the list of things to think about when "thinking...
  18. The amount of supplementation for deficiencies depends on how deficient you are. What was your level? A doctor should know how much to suggest to you, so honestly, I am surprised he does not know. If you are very low, some suggest anywhere from 2000- 5000 ius a day and repeat the test in 3 months to see if the level has come up. I took over a year...
  19. devious and clever girl
  20. .....it's more fun to peel it off and have him go: ow ow ow like a big baby
  21. You're welcome!! There are ways to make baked goods without using X-gum, I am told. People on here do it all the time. You know what? I did not know half the "stuff" I know now about what's in our foods (before my DX), and now, I find it funny that I even KNOW what xanthan gum IS
  22. Looks like they have the same ingredients!
