  1. Amen to that, sister! I think you will understand how much I am loved when I tell you hubs gave up his beloved Guinness voluntarily when he went gluten-free with me. My big Irish guy--his life- blood!! There is nothing like having one in a pub in Ireland. Even I drank a half pint with my lunch every day. It took F O R E V E R for that head to...
  2. This may well be the problem. If you are sick ALL the time, it is possible that it is constant cross-contamination. You are probably being careful, but it is difficult for others to understand how easily we can be CCed.
  3. I moved it. It's a trick Moderators have. We have magic wands Sinks are not a problem, hon, as long as they are cleaned well. Give it a good swipe with some Windex before you start. I would bring a spray bottle of Windex with me, 2 rolls of paper towels, my own dish brush, SOS pad and dish soap. I have a travel bag full of things to use in...
  4. Not really, some of us know how to push magic buttons. and you can always edit (up to 48 hours I think) We are a special family here, sweetie. Happy BIRTHDAY!! You're a phoenix. Remember what I told you, you saved your own life and your son's too. You're a Warrior princess, too-- and don't you ever forget it. xxoo IH
  5. I would take probiotics for the bowel issues that are starting to erupt. I also saw that you said on another thread that you are starting to have irritability. Hon, I fear you are going to keep getting worse as you continue to do this challenge. Can the doctor just DX you from symptoms returning ON gluten?
  6. It is indeed possible! My cuz and his wife did it too. We had to replace some of the brewing equipment, obviously (like copper wiring) but yup, we did it! Pretty good too. PM me if you want me to have him tell you what he did.
  7. The sources you cited are: --a forum thread discussion (but you say it is not where you got your information?) --as site that sells vitamins and supplements --a blog and she ends with: "NOTE: It’s important that a clear laboratory diagnosis is determined before attempting high dose supplementation with zinc and/or B6. Working closely with a q...
  8. I was disguising it, but that is my hub's thought exactly, but to "each his own", I guess?
  9. I live to serve.
  10. Oscar! My man! The man who tells it like it. Hand me a martini, dude. I thought maybe my bursting in had disrupted things?? IH hates to think of herself as a giant buzz kill.
  11. Hon, a chiropractor is not medically trained to help you with your health problems. He gave you the Metagenics questionnaire so he could sell you some supplements. I saw this same thing from a massage therapist who was going to cure my gut. (she didn't) Systemic yeast is a life-threatening condition that would have you in the hospital because your organs...
  12. The Redbridge was not a big hit in our house. He said Yuck, this tastes like Bud light. Meaning he does not like it. He brews his own, but He likes: Bards Green's New Planet New Grist Woodchuck (aka Moosehead? good one, squirmy) Strongbow here, sweets...check this out! It's a list of gluten-free brews and reviews. ...
  13. Sounds de-lish! The one I posted is more fudgy than cake-y as well. I should mention that, too. Thanks, Sky!!
  14. My Ma used to screech, "don't do that! They get stuck that way." No, they didn't.
  15. well, Meatie is about your size too. you two tiny but mighty girls!
  16. That sounds life-threatening to me! When I was gluten-headed, I could not drive anymore. I was impaired neurologically. Imagine if I hurt someone or myself? Hon, it sure sounds like you need to stay off gluten. What would be the advantage to having a "firm" diagnosis? That is what motivates most people to pursue one, no matter how much it makes...
  17. ...hmm....sounds like a mild case of threadus interruptus

  20. Did your doctor tell you this? Maybe your doctor has a different opinion. Do what YOU think is best.

ARCHIVED Doctors Who Have No Clue

I am very glad you are getting relief and it has not given you any side effects as yet. It takes 2-4 weeks to reach an optimum level in your body. That is great news!! yaaay!! If it is just a wonky spasming GI tract, in time, you will not need it. yaaay again! When you do go off it, please, ramp down slowly. Cold turkey w/d is not...
  22. The last I heard it was 3 months. Let me verify that with the Mod who posted that info. BRB! ............. okay, some Celiac specialists say 2 months, but the 3 months gluten challenge is best for the blood work. (The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center) If the blood work is 3 months, I would think the biopsy is the same. Maybe this...
  23. That's what I said to SQUIRMY, too. His health history sure sounds like a gluten issue. Did he have blood work done?
