  1. I want cake ! I want cake! I want cake!.........and I want it now!!!!
  2. That friend I mentioned above also had C.difficile and after taking all the antibiotics, then the MC raged and she was a mess. My intestinal tract was inflamed from mouth to rectum and I believe the probiotics helped reduce the inflammation and get the bowels regulated. I had bowel issues for my entire life. Not any more. Again, just a suggestion. Maybe...
  3. I have to agree with Gemini on this one. I started weight training in January. My muscles were deeply impacted from celiac and I rehabbed them for 2 years with physical therapy and massage therapy before even attempting such strenuous exercise. I need protein and I need carbs, I have found. My stamina was nil before and now, I can do almost anything again...
  4. amendment: "carry it and not even get mad they have been asked to do it." nah, I meant gawkers. however, St Joe will turn them into potential buyers, apparently.....
  5. It took me 6 months to start to see improvement and remission of bowel symptoms and nearly 15 months to turn a permanent corner. This is not to say you will not heal faster, ok? It just sometimes takes (older) people longer because of extensive damage. Do not despair, hon. One month is just the beginning. You're doing everything RIGHT from what you...
  6. 8000 posts? Who knew I could possibly talk that much? (watch it, you wiseacres!!.) Victoria sponge cake and chili chocolate cake sounds heavenly. A piece of each please! Chocolate issues be damned! The sun is out (you know, that bright round thing in the sky?) but I cannot partake of it too much because of this stupid medicine Directions say I'm supposed...
  7. you are entitled to your opinion, of course, dani... but I have to say that I simply cannot agree with any of those statements. I think that whatever way WE view having celiac is the way the others in our lives will, too. I certainly do not think life is rotten. I worked hard to get my life back to normal after being very ill and I do not really...
  8. ....I have this image of you with your nose pressed up against the front door glass come 6 am....
  9. It does indeed. I am thick in the head too from the tick bite infection and the meds, so...We're a pair ! thick as thieves, as it were. Dinner tonight will be whatever combo I can make from the grilled chicken and peppers last night (feta, olives, toms, arugula maybe??) and roll it in a warmed tortilla wrap. That's the best I can do. ta da...
  10. yes I know!!...which is why I am aghast ( and pretend fainting) that you settled for bagged. (you know I am just teasing you now.....)
  11. I am sorry this has happened to you, Bee. When I was very ill before DX, I had a few people drift away from me. Sometimes, adversity reveals true character. That was very hurtful, but I figure if they could not be there for me when I was down and out, then maybe they were not true friends after all. I actually made new friends through having celiac and...
  12. oh, it's very high tech, top secret and complicated....... I googled "bug emoticon" even me, the techno doofus looks savvy because of google. say waaaa????
  13. I see one study that shows that some celiacs do not recover their full intestinal mucosa on a gluten-free diet. You are taking that one study and manipulating the math to make a blanket statement about all the diagnosed celiacs in the world that is simply untrue, Admittedly, I am no math whiz, but I am a linguist and your statement, based on one study...
  14. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! ended up making coconut jasmine rice and chicken kebabs. That's all the enthusiasm I could work.up.
  15. "We extracted information on 465 consecutive coeliac patients studied before and during GFD" 465 adult celiacs in ONE study--many of whom had remission of symptoms over a short time period This does not equate to saying that "more than 90% of celiacs do not recover on a gluten free diet"
  16. Great news, I can almost use my right hand again. Turns out the rapidly spreading horrid pain I developed on Thursday started spreading to my arm, neck, then my foot and up my leg. Then, my right lower back/near buttock was burny..so, I use a hand mirror to look backwards at myself in the mirror--not easy checking your self out back there...and I've got...
  17. Okay, grodeylocks, I read the study you posted the link to and I still do not see where it says "that despite adhering to a gluten free diet more than 90% of celiacs don't fully recover. "
  18. Cali, Gotta Ski (Lisa) started a thread about her amazing recovery here and I piped in too---as did others. Hope this adds more "healing stories" to your collection Hugs, IH https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/101113-what-a-difference-a-year-well-four-years-makes/?hl=+what%20+difference%20+year%20+makes

  21. hehehehe.....Mr. IH wants to know why I am laughing so hard...shall I tell him?

  24. Spunk does not diminish with age...it grows. You'll be fine. Maybe uber-spunky, even.
