  1. oooh, I'd like to take credit for that long list of helpful info, but that was Karen's post, sweetie! I am just her trusted side kick on this one. lol
  2. Omygosh, K--that is one impressive list. Kudos! I was going to suggest Glutenfreeda oatmeal and a few other things, but you covered it all! I am bookmarking this thread for good travel info for others..... and myself. Thanks!! and to Gabe---good luck, hon!

  4. You're really digging the emoticon thinger, aren't ya babes/? LOL
  5. yes, I would think any one of your regular docs would be willing to write one.
  6. I usually do not bother to explain myself to anyone. . No one I know who saw me dying from undiagnosed celiac would ever dare mention "you're making this up" to me, but here is something you could ask: "Why would I make something up? what would be my motive?" and "Who the hell makes up hypothroidism, anemia and hypoglycemia?" That's not possible...
  7. Same here. Note from GI doc..in my wallet. Never had to produce it, but I like to have it JIK.
  8. non-chalant and graceful, I am sure!! Addy...we've got another Lucy Ricardo here! yes, I remember fish boy. I have "meat counter guy" myself. He actually looks past others and asks me what I would like today? (even when I am not first in line)...he told me 15 years ago that he likes me best because the first time I came in, I asked "May I have.....
  9. hahahaha OMG I have this great image of you loading the cart, sunglasses on ,...music from a spy movie....lobster tails hanging out of every trench coat pocket, sticking out of your shirt where you have shoved them down there face first.......and speedily checking them out at the self-check register before the frozen food dept. manager realizes his magnificent...
  10. Happy anniversary Ski and Mr. Ski!! xx Holy cow--you guys look gorgeous!! Yes, we are very blessed to have men who stood by us in sickness and in health and who still look at us with non-judgemental eyes of love...... (as we look at them.... even when they occasionally do things to irritate the crap out of us) Enjoy dinner! We...
  11. I drink plain, unflavored coffee from DD, Starbucks, and just about any restaurant or friend's home I have ever gone into and I have never had a problem. Gluten in coffee is extremely rare (those barley coffees are the exception) and if you look at the list from that first teenage blogger you posted, you'll notice he is listing many chocolate drinks...
  12. No, that is not what the anion gap represents. My sister and other relatives have diabetes, but I don't. They have all sorts of diseases I do not have. If you had obvious signs of diabetes, I am sure your doctor would be on top of it. For starters, you'd be spilling sugar in your urine. It does not mean you will develop it just because other relatives...
  13. yeah.....stoopid bugs
  14. could not have said it any better.
  15. The alkaline diet could over-restrict protein and calcium, though. Not a good idea unless it is supervised by a medical doctor. (that article Lima Bean posted explains it in detail) By the way. I asked you this last night. but you did not really answer me--who told you that your body is "acidic"? Your body's pH is not something indicated in the anion...
  16. Yeah, we have investigated every option for handling those Japanese beetles. The answer is to place the traps 30 feet away from the garden beds ---with perfectly stationed traps in a giant square--down wind, etc.---- and this is very effective. It lures them away from the flowers and veggies. I do not notice an increase in the bugs as a result. I...
  17. The anion gap is an indicator of acidosis. This is not the same as saying "my body is acidic". Those are two entirely different things. Let your doctor go over the test results with you before you assume anything. Levels on blood tests fluctuate often. If your anion gap was so high you would have acidosis, from diabetes (which you don't have...
  18. How exactly do you measure acidity in your body?? the foods I just mentioned have no sals in them!! you can eat all of them see this chart?? Negligible levels of salicylates Chicken Eggs Fish Lamb Organ meats Rabbit Sausage casing Scallops Tripe Veal it's from here Open Original Shared Link I feel as if every suggestion I...
  19. start small. Eat a beef patty or some broiled chicken.
  20. I honestly think you need to add meats, fish, poultry, eggs to your diet, IMHO.
  21. ANY diet that severely limits food groups and choices without an adequate nutritional substitute is not realistic or healthy. Sal and histamine intolerances require finding your tolerance level, not eliminating every food under the sun. Read the links I gave you, please. Why can't you eat any other proteins?
  22. beans are good protein, yes. But what else do you eat for protein? You are expressing concerns about malnourishment and maybe we can help you broaden your protein intake with some suggestions.
  23. which product has avocado in it? have you asked the company about this?
  24. I really do not understand this sentence, hon
  25. Hon, not sure what company name you tried to write there, but if they have spammed the forum in the past (which is not allowed), their name will not appear when you type it out exactly as it is.
