  1. GlutenFreeManna,- Hello fellow couponer! When I went on the gluten-free diet I was afraid I would have to give up couponing. I am really amazed at the coupons I can use for whole foods, gluten-free tomato sauces, gluten-free Mexican foods. On top of it my neighborhood grocery had triples and I was able to stock up on some gluten-free foods. It takes...
  2. Aeraen,- that is really good advice. I went to the library (where I live I can reserve books over the internet and the library will call me when they are in) and took out a number of gluten free cookbooks. My favorite is
  3. Goodnews,- I had my gallbladder out several years ago. I would tell the doctor about the pain (it happened infrequent then) and he would pass it off as bad food. So after that I just felt I had eaten bad food. Then the frequency became more and more. I wouldn
  4. [What I found weird is that when they did the ultrasound it hurt way more when he was pressing on my central stomach area compared to when he was pressing on my gallbladder area. Which did not hurt at all... but the center of my stomach HURT. Anyway I am eating now, and feeling okay.I think I will just stay gluten-free and low-fat for now-- because I have...
  5. Did they give you a gallbladder HIDA test? This test measures the functioning of your gallbladder. You can have a negative ultra sound and no gallstones and have a low functioning gallbladder which can cause a lot of pain. I had to ask my doctor for the test when all my other tests came back negative. But I wouldn't give up the idea of looking into celiac...
  6. I can say I know what you are going through. I was just about to jump out of my skin until all my tests were done. Glad it is over. My biopsy was negative but I have the positive celiac blood panel. I am on my way to being a celiac but have gluten intolerance - which I hope is little better than full blow celiac disease. I have been on the diet for...
  7. MsCurisous, you expressed very well the feeling one gets when treated so poorly. Many doctors whether from ignorance, not wanting to get to involved or figuring we would not understand take this route with there patients. It is very frustrating to be treated in such a manner. Walking with ones feet from their practice and not letting them know they have...
  8. My D were very low several years ago, before I ever heard of gluten intolerance. I tried taking the over the counter D3 put I couldn't bring my levels up. Doctor prescribed the little green football pills (D2). With D2 my D levels came up to acceptable levels. I will check out the information on D2 Vs D3. I noticed that since D2 does not absorb as good...
  9. Joej1, I can sympathize with fatigue. How do you know it is adrenal fatigue?
  10. Here are some of the Celiac blood tests below. I don
  11. I have also been plagued with a itchy scalp. I also get little bumps have little bumps (like acne) on my scalp. I will be very interested to find out if they has a connection to Gluten Intolerance.
  12. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (after I had noticeable nodule on my thyroid) for a while. Probably the beginning of a thyroid goiter. They gave me suppression therapy and in my case it worked. Since then I have been backed off T4 somewhat but given some T3 (like you my Endo does not think I am converting the T4 to T3 totally). I had hypo for...
  13. Dr. Sheila Crowe (GI doctor who specializes in Celiac Disease) says: "So how do we know who really needs to be gluten-free? Some patients have symptoms of celiac disease but do not have an abnormal intestinal biopsy that is taken before starting a gluten-free diet (by definition, they are not categorized as having celiac disease). If blood tests show...
  14. I have hypothyroidism for a while. I just started my diet over a week ago. I am feeling better from the gluten free diet already. It would be nice to think that my hypothyroidism could improve because of my diet. My guess is that further damage to the thyroid may be halted by being on the gluten-free diet but once the thyroid is damaged I don
  15. I hear your frustration with the results of the test you have had. An Endo tested my blood for a full Celiac Panel. From the results of the Celiac Panel blood tests I have seen on this forum gluten intolerance results can have many different results. Do you have symptoms that would lead you to believe that you might have gluten intolerance?
  16. The symptoms you describe sound painful. I hope you can get some relief. I have found from reading a lot of the posts that not all doctors give the full up to date Celiac panel blood tests. Do you know which blood tests your doctor had tested you for previously?
  17. Hi, Mothering3. I am not a expert. My doctor told me to stay on my gluten diet until I had the endoscopy biopsy for Celiac.
  18. Anohter place for thyroid problems is Mary Shomon's (Open Original Shared Link) they have a forum Graves.
  19. MsCurious, Excellent articles on Gluten Intolerance! The articles shows that the medical profession knows there is other gluten Intolerance in addition to Celiac Disease. I notice that one article said that the medical research for Gluten sensitivity is where medical research was for Celiac 30 years ago. That explains why there is no diagnosis and treatment...
  20. I am glad you have a good attitude about waiting the month for the biopsy. That was the hardest wait for me. I tried all the gluten goodies I had an appetite for up till my biopsy. That is a good idea to go gluten-free on the day of the biopsy. You will have fasted for the biopsy. I clean out my frig and cupboard of gluten the next day. I really have...
  21. Glad to hear you are seeing a good doctor. Staying away from dairy can be hard. I have been lactose intolerant for a long time. You will find you will stay away from dairy since you will feel better. Why is the doctor having you stay away from dairy before the biopsy? Does it interfere with the biopsy? Just wondering. I have been away for a week...
  22. The weight gain for me is discouraging too. How are they testing your for gluten intolerance?
  23. Emma-Lee, - It does help to know you have similar symptoms. Thank you! I have been suffering from the stomach pains for a while too. Just could not put a finger on what was causing them. Thank goodness my endo figured it out. Hopefully when I start my diet I will get relief too. It is nice to know I might have an end to this symptom.
  24. Wow from the comments it looks like many get muscle aches. I too get calves aching from time to time. I just figured it was over or under use of muscle or calcium deficiency. It will wake me up at night. Banana
  25. Lismom,- It sounds like you have autoimmune problems with adrenal insufficiency and RA. (about.com under Mary Shomon has a good forum that includes adrenal problems) Did you get the full Celiac Blood panel test? I have notice some doctors from some of the comments are not giving the full panel. Autoimmune problems persons seem to have a higher chance...
