  1. Thank you! Perforated ear drums do usually heal with no intervention unless there is an infection, which kind of scares me since she hasn't had antibiotics since she was in the hospital after being born. The concern with her is that the audiologist said that her hearing would continue to deteriorate until she would probably need hearing aids as a teenager...
  2. Not a problem, any questions just ask. I watched my 15 month old daughter wasting away at this time last year and we honestly thought she was going to die and while it has been a long road, this past year has made a huge difference. She did have a hemoglobin level of 8.1, it is now 12.4 and she used to sleep 21-22 hours a day and at 12 months weighed 12 lbs...
  3. Tonight I'm making Chicken Parm with white rice noodles.
  4. What mainstream cereals have you tried? My 2 and 5 year olds have had success with the Dora the Explorer cereal not getting too soggy and Berry Berry Kix weren't too bad for them. I also make waffles or pancakes with almond flour and keep them in the fridge or freezer. Rice cakes and peanut butter or with pb&j are a hit with my girls, you could use the...
  5. My very soy sensitive daughter loves Larabars also. She really likes Cashew Cookie, Peanut Butter and Jelly and Coconut Cream Pie.
  6. Poor girl. I'm not sure of all the ins and outs, but I do know that some considere gluten intolerance to be a spectrum disorder and also that she could still be Celiac with negative tests especially considering her age.
  7. Two months ago when I started this thread I was feeling so hopeful about everything, it's funny how much things can change in that amount of time. We have been gluten free, soy free, etc for over a year and I have been pretty much sugar free for almost 6 months and now I am having trouble with it. I think more the sugar since I can't really even eat fruit...
  8. Sorry to have to say, but allergy testing isn't always accurate and sometimes the only way to know is to take out the food and then to reintroduce it. My daughter ended up in the hospital for intestinal bleeding and since we didn't know what food caused it we cut out the top 8 allergens, preservatives and artificial colors and flavors. When we tried to reintroduce...
  9. Welcome to the forum. We found out gluten was my daughter's problem when she was 15 months old and she is now almost 28 months, she didn't have her symptoms even start to go away until we figured out what other foods she couldn't have (a HUGE one for her is soy). She didn't vomit, but had explosive runny diapers 9-10 times a day every day and those ended...
  10. I know that at the Walmart Vision Center near me the eye exam is completely separate and costs about $50.
  11. Tonight my 5 year old is making 50/50 Bacon Burgers from the Eat Like a Dinosaur cookbook and some homemade french fries. Also, since she spent 3 hours looking at that cookbook I think we will be trying alot of the recipes.
  12. I had the same issues on birth control and for that reason was told I could not be on birth control, especially Mirena, despite having extremely heavy and painful periods which can last at least 2 weeks. And as far as having children, it is not the end of the world having a child with Celiac (I have 2 who also have some other food allergies and one has problems...

    ARCHIVED Juicing

I'm not sure how just veggies would taste...other then that I may be able to get away with just veggies. Pretty much everything I have found on juicing puts fruits and veggies together.

    ARCHIVED Juicing

Oh how I wish I could try juicing But I can't really have fruit and definitely not juiced fruit because it spikes my sugar and I end up with heartburn and throwing up when my sugar is high from that.
  15. Oh that sounds so good.
  16. I made chicken salad with my leftover roasted chicken from the other night, onions and celery plus with a dressing of apple cider vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, freshly ground black pepper and ground mustard seed. I ate in on Popcorn Indiana Sea Salt Chipins.
  17. Think of it this way, most people only eat something like pumpkin once a year and it doesn't bother them when they eat it again unless of course that they have a problem with it. Although you may find that someone else in your family improves eating gluten free. This happened to my husband, he went gluten free with my children and I at home only to find that...
  18. They are on the thinner side and I leave them in the oven until they are slightly browned on the bottom so that they are crispy. I also cook them on aluminum foil which seems to help the crispy factor.
  19. My daughter and I really wanted pizza today so I took the Schar crust and topped it with some extra virgin olive oil, garlic, freshly ground black pepper, broccoli, leftover roasted chicken and a mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend.
  20. I also use the one from Elana's Pantry using canola for the grapeseed and also the honey for agave. I served them for my daughter's birthday party and even the gluten eaters went back for seconds and thirds.
  21. Tonight was a roasted whole chicken with roasted potatoes.
  22. Our library didn't have "Eat like a Dinosaur", but I found it at Walmart for $16.60 which is cheaper then Amazon so I bought it for my daughter for Easter. It looks like a great book.
  23. Also as far as the Lindt brand is concerned they have many plain chocolate bars, if not most of them, that have no gluten ingredients. My children and I get the 90% cocoa bars about once a month as a treat and for the bit of iron that is in dark chocolate.
  24. I couldn't say how close of a recipe it is since my mom never made Irish soda breadm but there is a recipe on Elana's Pantry blog that got good reviews and I like most of her recipes since there are not alot of ingredients in them.
  25. Leftover cabbage and noodles with corned beef for us today.
