  1. Laurie! I'm in Puyallup. We should start a group here. I've been thinking about it. I'll e-mail you.
  2. Have you had blood work done to see if you are deficient in vitamins? Low B12 causes problems with energy. Amongst other more serious problems. A multi-vitamin won't help much until your intestines are fully healed which often takes many months as you won't absorb it very well. Shots or sublingual tablets are better.
  3. I was glutened a couple months ago and nothing happened to me either. I was kind of upset that I didn't get sick because now I'm worried that I may be getting gluten and wouldn't know it. Some people do not have symptoms from one glutening, while others get really sick.
  4. I went to Black Angus one time and while they had never heard of celiac disease, they were very accomodating. I had to explain cross contamination and issues with seasonings. The manager looked out for me and let me bring in my own bbq sauce. I've also heard that Claim Jumper is very accomodating. Tiffany - that would make me mad too!
  5. There are so many dogs with my name! Why is that!? Cute doggy though.
  6. Just so you know I found the info on Starkist tuna on the delphi list to be out of date. Here's what the list said: "Starkist (800.252.1587) (www.starkist.com) (vw=1/26/04) Gluten is not an ingredient in any variety of StarKist® Tuna. This does not apply to crackers in StarKist Lunch To-Go® or in Charlie's Lunch Kit®. The vegetable broth added to en...
  7. I've been on both a Baby Ruth kick and an M&M kick. I believe it to be because I felt deprived from all the stuff I couldn't have that I would want something yummy and candy bars were a yummy option. I've gotten a lot better though. I used to eat at least one a day and now I'm down to a couple times a week.
  8. I found the list on a previous post. Open Original Shared Link You have to scroll down to about the third post to see it.
  9. Certain companies (like Kraft) will always list gluten if it is in there, so you wouldn't have to worry about modified food starch if they say it. I'm sorry I don't have the list. Kaiti posts it a lot, hopefully she will see this and post it. Or I'll go look for it. You don't want to get any gluten at all in your system. Even if it seems like it would...
  10. If you have been having the problem with fatigue even before you were glutened it could be because you are still deficient in many nutrients. Has your doctor run blood tests for this? Celiacs are often times deficient in vitamin B12, which can cause fatigue among other problems and is very important. Once you are eating gluten free, even if your are taking...
  11. Definitely ask to be tested and if they refuse you should go to a different doctor.
  12. Maybe it's just because his body was enjoying all the natural foods with nutrients and the junk food made him feel icky. Sometimes that happens to me after I eat that stuff.
  13. I hate it when you take the time to e-mail or write companies and they don't even have the courtesy to respond.
  14. That was really cool of your hubby. Looks like you got a good one!
  15. You'll see him again, Jen. Just on a temporary hiatus while I show off my new doggy. Brown's still my baby.
  16. I don't have much of a reaction when I eat gluten. One time I knew for sure I'd made a mistake and nothing happened. I'm also worried that then I won't know when I accidentally eat something bad. How long were you gluten-free? Maybe your bloating and gas are caused by lactose intolerance? Have you cut dairy out? A lot of celiacs have problems with lactose...
  17. Snickers Ice Cream bars are gluten-free?! I love those things! Maybe it would be better if I didn't know that. Yummy! I'm so excited. I've been noticing a slime on my M&Ms lately. It's white and gross! Maybe they got wet or in the sun or something. But I'm noticing it in almost every bag.
  18. It does make me feel really good to know he is listening to all the things I tell him about this disease. It shows me that he really does care.
  19. We were eating breakfast at McDonald's this morning. I was eating the fruit and yogurt parfait. Hubby was eating a Mcgriddle sandwich. I offered him some of my parfait on my spoon and he said "I just ate that sandwich" and I was like "so, just try this, it's yummy" and he said "But I just ate that sandwich" and I proceeded to stick my spoon in his mouth and...
  20. I live in Puyallup and I've been looking for a support group. What city do you think you'll meet in?
  21. The seasoning is gluten-free, but I've started having issues with it since going gluten-free and I think a lot of other people here have to.
  22. I totally know what you mean! Anytime I ask questions I get all the weird looks. Like when I ask if they use a dedicated frier for their fries. I hope you feel better soon.
  23. I like talking about myself so I don't mind telling basically everybody about my disease. And everyone I've told as been very supportive and when I can't eat something, they just accept it and move on. I do have people pitying me, but I don't mind being pitied because I feel that way about myself sometimes. My main problem is the traveling and eating out...
  24. It's a good excuse to buy cute stickers! Perfect for kids too!
  25. French's worchestershire sauce is gluten free. I think that the issue with pre-shreaded cheeses is that they may add something with wheat to keep the cheese from sticking together, but each one is different and you need to check.
