  1. Maybe, if you don't want to risk it you could bring your own lunch to work and eat before you go and then just have a drink when everyone else is eating. Of course, then you have to put up with everybody asking why you're not eating. At least it's PF Changs and not some place that's never heard of celiac.
  2. I think that a celebrity doesn't have to come out and tell the world all of their health issues just because they are a celebrity. I don't have a problem with telling people I hardly know that I have celiac disease. But a celebrity outing themselves with celiac is almost the equivalent of me walking up to people in the store and saying "Guess what, I have...
  3. I have celiac disease and probably mixed connective tissue disease too. I say probably because I haven't gotten an official diagnosis, but I do have speckled pattern anti-nuclear antibodies and have had two flare-ups. So I'm pretty sure that I have it. I haven't spent too much time researching it though. I had symptoms of celiac disease first and I know it...
  4. I wrote them about whether or not it is gluten-free and here is the response: Yippie!!
  5. I would like to go. It gives us another reason to make a trip up there. When I checked out airline tickets that far in advance they are $800 a piece! Ouch! I'll have to research that more.
  6. I am! I eat Ener-Gs Tapioca bread. But I'm not sure it's entirely rice free, I haven't ever looked at the label for that as rice does not bother me. Most people on here complain about Ener-Gs bread, but I don't mind it for toasted tuna sandwiches or toast with pb&j. But it is better toasted.
  7. So, do you have to order this flour? You can't get it at a regular store?
  8. Thanks for that recipe, we'll try it. I love when people post their favorite recipes.
  9. Do you think this would be beneficial for an American to go to? I've never been to a conference so I don't know exactly what they talk about, if it is more country specific with products and laws, etc. My husband's family lives near Toronto, so I was thinking I could combine a trip.
  10. Won't clicking on "view new posts" do the same thing, only quicker? It's right next to "my controls"
  11. I think that switching your pet's food can be difficult for some. They can be really picky eaters, especially when they have been eating the same thing for a long time. They can refuse to eat it or it may make them have diarrhea. So, I remember reading that the best way to switch it is to mix a little of the new stuff in, then a little more, gradually uping...
  12. I saw somebody's at work and I thought that I should enter Brown. He has a lot of pics that are cuter than the ones they have in there too. I wonder how they choose, that would be a fun job. Looking at cute kitty pics. I was going to send one in, but never got around to it. I should do that for the next year.
  13. Jen-it's really sad, makes me want to cry. (And I actually have.) Puppy mills are where people keep usually a lot of dogs in really small cages breeding them as often as possible, even though it's really hard on their bodies. The cages are often times stacked so the feces and urine go through to the dogs below. The dogs are very sick and get little human...
  14. I just had that tonight too! And I just had horrible diarhhea. Weird.
  15. I totally agree about the declawing! They basically cut the tips of their "fingers" off. Poor kitties. We got our kitties from a rescue place too. I feel strongly about never buying from a pet store. Many of those animals come from puppy mills and are not well taken care of. I will research food for my kitties, because wheat being bad for them...
  16. They're so cute it's hard not too. I understand!
  17. Thanks, Jen. I did it!
  18. I had thought about this too because I give treats to my boys that have wheat in them. Currently, I just wash my hands afterwards and I'm okay. But the food has wheat in it too, we buy really big bags and then I pour some into a container that has a flip lid and the food easily pours out. It works really well.
  19. I understand that the raw diet is similar to paleolithic diets that humans were on thousands of years ago, before wheat was introduced and I think that it makes sense that this would be a good way to eat as humans bodies have not changed to catch up with our new diets. On the milk thing. I researched buying unpastuerized milk and it's very interesting...
  20. If they are Mrs. Mays I feel better after I found this old post. I thought I had read they were gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link
  21. Would that be Mrs. Mays that you are talking about? I just bought some, the bag said wheat free, not gluten free, but I was wondering why as I didn't think any of the ingredients were bad. So is rice malt sometimes not gluten-free? I hope it is because I've eaten a lot!
  22. So why did they tell you to keep eating gluten? Are there more tests to do? Maybe they just want your GP to tell you what to do.
  23. Good job Jen! That's so awesome! I wish I had one of those stores here.
  24. Thank you! I'll put that in my book.
  25. I don't mean to be a party pooper, but remember tanning is bad! We talk about how we are scared we are going to get an increased risk of cancer by eating gluten, but melanoma (a form of skin cancer) is one of the deadliest cancers, killing more women between 25-30 than breast cancer. So please, if you are concerned about your health, don't tan! Wear sunscreen...
