ARCHIVED Atm - Making A Depositmytummyhurts replied to skbird's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I had the TV on in the background today and I heard a commercial for Bank of America where they said that there ATMs were no longer going to require envelopes. That you just put the money in and it scans in and figures out how much it is. If it's a check it scans it and prints a copy of the check on the receipt. I think this is pretty cool for celiacs, even...

ARCHIVED Microwave Popcornmytummyhurts replied to swittenauer's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications You know what is really good for popcorn and is not that hard to do? There's a microwave popcorn popper by Presto. It is a plastic bowl with a conductive base. It was about $15 dollars and you have to buy these little paper things to go in the bottom to make the popcorn pop, but they are not expensive and you can re-use them so they last a long time. You...

Yes, please, please, please write and call them so they know what happened. It surprises me that their staff knows so little about this when they have a gluten-free menu. Maybe you should note in your letter that they should educate their staff more. I really don't understand why all restuarants don't go over the fact that some people may be allergic or intolerant...

ARCHIVED Melting Velveeta?mytummyhurts replied to Rachel--24's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips I make a dip with velveeta. I put a little milk in a small saucepan and then start adding in chunks of velveeta until it melts and is nice and creamy. Then I add in salsa. Or you can do it in the microwave too. The key is not too much milk or else it's runny and gross.

ARCHIVED Irish Heritage And Celiac'smytummyhurts replied to Queen Serenity's topic in Related Issues & Disorders Maybe it's just because no one has started a "who's Italian?" post.

ARCHIVED Irish Heritage And Celiac'smytummyhurts replied to Queen Serenity's topic in Related Issues & Disorders Rachel - Celiac is more common in Italians than Irish. I got this off another website.

ARCHIVED Badger Productsmytummyhurts replied to jenvan's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I think it's been a couple weeks since I got one. I will write back soon, it's been totally insane at work and I haven't had time. Sorry!

Wow!! That doctor totally doesn't know what he's talking about. If he had celiac and then went gluten free then of course he wouldn't show up positive for celiac because the gluten is out of his system and he's heathy. He needs to go back on a gluten-free diet right away and stay that way for the rest of his life. celiac disease is not outgrown, many doctor...

If it makes you feel any better, I paid $600 for my biopsy. I don't think that all doctors are money grubbing and bad. We tend to make them out to be that way, when they spend about 10 years of their lives going to school to be a doctor and most of them have about $100,000 in school loans when they get out. I don't think it's a piece of cake to be a doctor...

I like it. It's on Fox on Tuesdays at 9, I believe. (Depending on where you live for the time.)

Yeah, really. Hopefully they do a good job. I like "House" though. I'll have to make sure to watch regularly so I don't miss it. That's really cool!

ARCHIVED Let's Talk About Poop For A Minute.mytummyhurts replied to frenchiemama's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Yep, this sounds like me too. Before I went gluten-free sometimes I would have to go and I had to go right now! Of course, this always seemed to happen when we were driving. Had some interesting public restroom experiences. At least I made it to the bathroom though, one time my mom didn't. She hasn't been diagnosed with celiac disease, but I think she has...

ARCHIVED I Want To Slap My Doctor In The Facemytummyhurts replied to Lena's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I've been gluten-free for 7 months and when I am accidentally glutened almost nothing happens to me. I may get some diarrhea and feel a little icky, but one time I knew for a fact that I ate wheat and absolutely nothing happened. So that's not a good gauge. I used to take Pepto sometimes when I felt nauseous and all it did was turn my throw up pink!...

ARCHIVED Had Son Tested Yesterday...waiting Now For Resultsmytummyhurts replied to Mjohnson73's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs Depending on how many are going to be there, why can't everyone's cake be gluten-free? My mom made me this excellent cake (from a package) a few weeks ago. It tasted as good as any other cake I've had. If everybody eats it then he won't feel weird and everyone can see that being gluten-free isn't so horrible.

ARCHIVED Hidden Valley Salad Dressingmytummyhurts replied to PicturePerfect's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I'm sad, I really liked Hidden Valley's Ranch and I don't like Kraft so much. I guess I was just used to HV's. P.S. Carrie- I like your new avatar. You have such a beautiful dog!

ARCHIVED Enjoy Life Products?mytummyhurts replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications My store just started carrying their stuff and I was very excited to see a new brand. I tried the snack bars, very berry and cocoa loco and they are ok. They aren't all fluffy and big like the box shows. It was actually kind of disappointing, but they don't taste bad. They are nothing to write home about however. So, I would just say they are ok. I...

ARCHIVED Are Apples Gf?mytummyhurts replied to blueshift's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Before I went gluten-free bananas used to make me really hungry. It was weird, I could be just slightly hungry and eat a banana for a snack and then boom I felt like I was starving!

ARCHIVED Nature Valley Granola Bars..gf?mytummyhurts replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Chevy's says that their hot wings are gluten-free. A note on nachos though, some places fry their chips in oil that is used for other things. Chevy's is another example of that. They state that their nachos would be gluten-free, except they fry them in contaminated oil. Bummer, I love nachos.
