  1. That does help, Amber, thanks!
  2. Ok, I do have the box in front of me now (I bought it just for this post). The ingredients are seperated for the cheese and the noodles. The cheese ingredients are whey, milk-fat, milk protein concentrate, salt, calcium carbonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, contains less than 2% of citric acid, sodium phosphate, lactic acid, milk, yellow 5, yellow 6, enzymes...
  3. I have heard a commercial for celiac disease before (maybe I've already posted this). I think it was done by GIG and I actually heard it before I was diagnosed and I remember thinking it sounded like me and I was going to ask my doctor about it, but I didn't have to because she suggested testing for it. If we all want commercials we should probably...
  4. I don't have a box right here. But is that possible? Because they probably don't seperate the noodle ingredients from the cheese packet ingredients on the outside of the box. Obviously the noodles are not gluten-free, so wheat is probably listed.
  5. But remember this is just the ones that have had stuff added to them. The pure premium line that has no additives is okay. See original post here: Open Original Shared Link
  6. Maybe they are better at diagnosing it because more people have it? You know, like what came first, the chicken or the egg? And, a lot of people on this board have some Irish in them. Is that coincedence? Or is it just because a lot of Americans have some Irish in their background. So is it just illusory correlation (the preception of a relationship...
  7. Are you sure about that website address? I can't get it to work.
  8. My blood pressure is rising reading this! I don't understand why some people feel the need to tell you what is and isn't good for you when they don't understand this disease. It's really irritating. Good for you standing your ground and not eating the bacon. I'm proud of you for putting up with this! So far I've not encountered people who treat me that...
  9. I don't know that much about dogs, because I don't have one. But I have read that they love cheese and liver. But this are intended to be "special" treats because they are fattening. So I don't know if that would work for want you need.
  10. That was a good article. They actually had a lot of information, sometimes the articles aren't that correct or in depth. Thanks for sharing that. I don't buy food at Wal-Mart. Actually Wal-Mart hasn't been around the Seattle area for that long and they are just now turning the one by me into a food center too. Before it was just clothes, furniture, home stuff...
  11. I've had the Mrs. Leepers hamburger lasagna and chicken alfredo. They were both ok fresh, but you are right, Steph, the leftovers are always really nasty.

    ARCHIVED Chili's

I really wish restaurants would have dedicated fryers. It sucks when things are gluten-free and they ruin it by putting in with stuff that's not.
  13. Wouldn't it be cool to have a place like that right down the road? I would be there all the time. The nearest place to me is over an hour away. It sounds really cool!
  14. This is ridiculous as Lupus and other diseases like this have periods of remission and then flare-ups. Aarrgh! My symptoms (while I'm in a flare-up, otherwise I'm basically normal) are swelling of almost all my joints. Hands and feet are really bad. My hands swelled so bad the first time that I looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy! Pain in the joints...
  15. I'm freaked out about this MSG thing now. And I'm kind of pissed too. I don't think that companies should be allowed to put stuff like this in our food. It shows the power of money. I've been looking at my labels for this now and while it may not say MSG I got this list from the website that Kaiti put up about what else it may be called and a lot of things...
  16. That's a good point that pixiegirl had about the newspapers. She's probably right. Maybe instead you could write not about that particular restaurant, but do an awareness type thing just to get celiac more out there and describe what has happened and how it's hard enough for us to eat out anyway.
  17. I agree with everybody that says it is a private business and they can do what they want to in this regard. You don't have to eat there and their punishment will be losing your business. Really, if they don't care about your special diet do you want to eat there anyways? Although, I realize that this has turned into more than that and you probably wouldn...
  18. Did you have any other Celiac symptoms? I'm sorry, I don't know if you posted anything else. Of course, there are many symptoms, but I believe the most common are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fun stuff like that. I was just curious if you had any of those too.
  19. One main way it is political is the recent FDA (was that the department?) changing labeling rules so that the eight main allergens have to be listed. This will help us a lot as wheat will have to be listed, unfortunately, not gluten though . I really wish that gluten was one of them. Imagine how much easier it would be for us then!
  20. You say she didn't have symptoms. But do we know for sure that her intestines weren't damaged? That's what we all are really worried about. People can go for years without symptoms but they are getting damaged and this can cause serious, serious problems later. So that is why most of us don't want to take the risk.
  21. A lot of people have said that they get really, really sick. I have been gluten free for a few months and about a month again I accidentally ate something that was totally full of gluten and nothing happened. Recently, I've been feeling kind of sick again and think I might be getting something in my system. I just feel nauseous a few times a day, especially...
  22. Yeah, I have issues with my feet too. They turn numb a lot, sometimes when we go on walks when it's not very warm. I'm liking summer weather, I've almost forgotten about this things. When winter comes again I'll probably be reminded.
  23. Yeah, there's an entirely gluten free restaurant north of Seattle, if anybody around here hasn't heard of it. Kaili's Kitchen in Lynnwood. I their website is wheatlessinseattle.com. It's very nice not to have to explain everything and just order a hamburger and fries or chicken strips. They also sell take away products like bread and stuff. Unfortunately...
  24. A lot of people on this board have said that just putting something with gluten on it on their skin can affect them with skin problems. I have not had that, but I'm refering to ingesting, like putting lotion on and then eating peanuts or shampooing in the shower and having some of it get in your mouth.
