  1. And if you were talking about Salsa Dancing then... Maybe try the Tango.
  2. What about Guacamole? You can leave tomatoes out and add just the right amount of spice/flavor to suite your taste.
  3. Sometimes the food is not the issue but how you cooked it. If you grilled them on a grill or used utensils that gluten foods were also cooked on you may get a gluten reaction.
  4. I eat gluten-free oatmeal (Bob's Redmill gluten-free Old Fashioned Oats (slow cook kind)) 2 or 3 times a week. I was not able to eat this without digestive issues for about 6 months after going gluten-free. I guess that I am not a sensitive guy.
  5. I am not giving tax advice here. If you are not well versed in taxes in the USA then I suggest seeking advice from a tax professional. If you file your own taxes utilizing deductions then you should understand the IRS Publication that I believe covers this topic. I believe that IRS Pub 502 covers this and it should be read thoroughly. There is no short...
  6. I am 51 years old.
  7. You Gingers have all kinds of added issues (said laughingly).
  8. Here is an interesting read on the subject of gluten in wine. Open Original Shared Link I suggest reading the replies to this blog also. For disclosure purposes, I drink wine and will continue to do so. EDIT (added): It is my opinion that wine is safe and I am not suggesting that anyone should be concerned about gluten in wine. It is just interesting...
  9. For older kids, my suggestion is a Flourless Chocolate Cake or Brownie served warm with vanillaice-cream and a raspberry sauce drizzled over it. I saw a recipe that I have not made from Whole Foods: http://www.wholefood...com/recipes/753 I recently went to the Bonefish Grill and had a (gluten-free) Flourless Macadamia Nut Brownie and itwas delicious.
  10. mamaw, The desert was not my primary interest.
  11. Hi, The best advice is... Date someone that also has celiac disease and your problems are solved. I have also had issues with dating related to eating out and requesting that my date brushes her teeth before kissing. And I have never dated anyone that has celiac disease so I'm not sure if it would make such a difference but it sure would make life...
  12. The only time I threw up from gluten was after many years of cumulative damage to my digestive system just prior to going gluten-free. If you are vomiting, it sounds like you have to make some dramatic changes to your diet.
  13. Now that's hot!
  14. I can say that I have not craved gluten foods except beer. One day I will find a tasty gluten-free beer... And there is not a single gluten-free beer on the market today tastes good so no recommendations needed.
  15. Your dishes look and sound great! I hope you continue being passionate about your food. Let me know if you need an extra gluten-free eater (me) to try out some of your meals!
  16. If you don't mind, how old are you? Under 21? Just curious to see if any (young) adults who have been malnourished for a long time see a slight growth spurt after going gluten-free.
  17. Born in America (Yonkers, NY). My Mom's grand-parents were from Ireland and my Dad's parents are off the boat from Italy. But somewhere in there a dog was added to the gene pool...I think I am part dog too.
  18. I will try out the iPhone app. The app might be incorrect as I did find the following on the company that makes the Farmers Bacon, Hormel Foods, website: Which food allergens are recognized in Hormel Foods products? We recognize the top eight allergens: PeanutsTree NutsMilk ProductsEggsSoyWheatCrustaceansFishThese will be clearly listed on the...
  19. What app for the iphone do you use that can easily show the list of ingredients when scanned? And are you scanning the bar code with this app? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
  20. Grilled skirt steak and arugula cooked in olive oil. Simple and delicious.
  21. I went to sleep dreaming about Tiramisu and now find a moo moo might be out there with my name on it and now a song. Gotta get me some of that tiramisu!!!
  22. I missed both the help and the humor from all of you. Thanks!
  23. Umm... When? Always hungry, will travel.
  24. I love Tiramisu! Anyone need a taste tester? Or help me make some?
