  1. Looks like I will never eat Jello again. Yuk, made from hides.
  2. Hi Sara, I found the "Search Forum Via Google" feature found at the top right of this page to be very helpful. Good luck with sticking to your gluten-free lifestyle.
  3. I feel lousy in the morning until I have been awake for a few hours. It takes a lot of effort to be positive in the morning. What do you eat or drink in the morning that may contribute to feeling worse as the day goes on?
  4. No surgery is available for gluten intolerance or celiac disease. The best advice I can give is that you have to eat basic whole food that is healthy to sustain your energy to live and forget about anything that is harmful to you from here on out. Don't give up on basic healthy food for you. After a good solid month or two on basic food (meats, rice, potatoes...

    ARCHIVED Chili's

I strongly suggest that anytime any of you gets sick after a server or any restaurant cook, staff or manager states they will ensure you only get gluten free food that you go back the next day or within a few days and you demand your money back. I have done this three times and only had one of the three places refuse to refund my money. At the place that...
  6. My gut is killing me today so I bought the F*** Gluten T-Shirt. Not sure if I will wear it in public unless it is under another shirt or I am riding my motorcycle.
  7. The app you choose is such a personal choice. You may want to look at a bunch of apps and pick one that fits your needs. A few places to look are: Crackberry Apps: Open Original Shared Link Or Blackberry App World: Open Original Shared Link You can even use a Blog App: Open Original Shared Link Good luck. Keep it simple.
  8. Note sure what phone you have. I have an iPhone and did a search for diary notes and found a bunch of Apps. The one I liked best was called "NoteMaster". It costs $3.99 and is pretty robust. Open Original Shared Link
  9. Don't get me wrong I prefer home made stuff. I just don't like cooking beyond the basic food stuff for myself. I would love to cook for someone though and cook together. You can still be opposite to me.
  10. Check these out: Open Original Shared Link While these are a little too ambitious for me. I would rather buy them already made...
  11. I would be interested in the end results of his efforts. We need some very good gluten-free beer!
  12. Thanks for your kind words and since you are not single you are banned from describing how nice your butt is. LOL
  13. I agree that eating out is the biggest challenge for dealing with a gluten-free diet. I am a single man who up until less than a month ago ate out most of my meals. While I always had an eat to live mentality I ate out with friends or dates as a social thing. I think there is a difference for those who have a family life in the home and either they or...
  14. More rambling about my gluten-free journey: In the past 12 days I have not consumed any gluten. I noticed the past few nights that I have not slept much and while I have problems getting out of bed I have not felt totally exhausted during the day. Hope this doesn't last too long or I will have to run across the country like Forest Gump. I have not...
  15. Not knowing how the results compare to the "normal" range for the test done, I suggest that if your daughter does end up being diagnosed with Celiac Disease then you change your diet along with hers to be gluten free. It would do you no harm and it would help her tremendously. Good luck with your daughter.
  16. You can use the calender function and just add notes to each day on the calender for review at a later date.
  17. I did have good cookies. Just ate too many. I would have shared but no one to share with. Bad cookies!
  18. Sounds like Jenngolightly has a heavy drawer at work. I am jealous...
  19. Note to self: I must stay away from cookie discussions. I couldn't sleep last night and saw this evil cookie talk... So I made my version of the peanut butter cookie and modified the first posts recipe and used what I had. I cut the sugar in half (using a mix of 1/2 regular sugar and 1/2 brown sugar) plus I added vanilla plus Pamela's Ultimate Baking...
  20. It is often hard to stand alone with your convictions in face of other peoples ignorance. You are the parent of your child and trying to do what is best for her. Don't be concerned about what they think and view their opinions as misguided information and let them talk with you in private about anything they want. You can't do much about your family, however...
  21. Remember the saying: "Ignorance is bliss and knowledge is a burden". You cannot change anyone's attitude toward learning unless they want to learn. I grew up with parents that sound much like yours.
  22. Having had a number of injuries during my life I found that sometimes when my body was healing I sometimes felt worse in some areas after the major healing was well underway. It is sort of like when you injure your back and your back muscles tighten to act as a splint to stop your back movement so the back can heal. Once the back heals you find your back...
  23. I read ravenwoodglass' post after writing my reply. I agree with what she said. Unfortunately most of us are wired to be complacent when things are good (your not feeling sick from gluten) then you forget about the sick times and you eat the wrong foods. I would not waste time beating yourself up. You mentioned you went out to eat with a new boyfriend...
  24. I will not eat pizza at a place that serves gluten-free pizza unless the people working there have celiac disease. I was in a local pizza place and watched this young kid make my gluten-free pizza. He placed the pizza dough onto the same prep counter that was covered in regular wheat flour. I ended up not getting pizza there. Beware of false gluten...
  25. Glad to hear you see yourself getting well. That's nice! Thank you for your words of encouragement! I will keep a positive attitude while navigating the ups and downs by keeping myself on the straight and narrow gluten-free food path.
