  1. Yep, me too. And my middle boy. I also get gas a lot if my intestinal bacteria are "off", so I take probiotics and use digestive enzymes too.
  2. Progresso Creamy Chicken and Rice is really good. My daughter can't get enough of it! It should work for a casserole. I don't care for their Portobello Mushroom soup. Too many spices and you can't really taste the mushrooms. They clearly label for gluten ingredients and it doesn't contain any. Of course they still have the CC possiblities since...
  3. I don't think Dr. D'Adamo has done much personal research in regards to Celiac, but he quotes a few studies about it in his Complete Blood Type Encyclopedia. It says that the risk for all blood types is the same (an average risk), but the risk of getting Celiac Disease is high for "non-secretors" of all blood types. He also talks about different blood...

    ARCHIVED Dh

Yes, you could still have DH. There are a few problems with the other tests. The endoscopy/biopsy can miss damage. In most people the damage is not complete it is patchy and it is hit-and-miss when they take the biopsies. They also need to take more than a few biopsies and most doctors take between 1-3 tissue samples. The blood tests pick up levels...
  5. Hi Gigimom, I do agree that the diagnosis should not be made too quickly, but there is also no harm in keeping the kids off gluten while you figure out what to do. If they are not gluten sensitive, then it will make no difference, but if they are then the diet will benefit them greatly. My kids all three also tested positive for IgG only. We opted...
  6. Nini, I could have written this post (only substitute son for daughter!). You completely described how my son was when he was on gluten, and the behavior issues do come back when he gets glutened. Thank God that that has only happened a few times since going gluten-free. He is 11 and is remarkable in how well he handles the diet. He keeps himself gluten...
  7. Open Original Shared Link Thanks for posting this website. It looks like it can be helpful.
  8. You asked these questions previously and I though I might be able to help out with a few. Although I haven't been to Florida since going gluten-free, and I don't have any of those stores near me except for Walmart... If you can find a Whole Foods or Wild Oats type of health food store you will have more options for gluten-free cereals, crackers, cookies...
  9. Your description of what they look like is pretty accurate! My kids didn't care what they looked like, they were donut starved! They like the chocolate dipped donuts, but didn't like the taste of the chocolate glazed ones. The cinnamon are also good. I don't eat them since they have soy flour in them. I need to come up with a good gluten-free donut...
  10. If I knew I wouldn't be in pain, and it wouldn't cause damage, I could totally sit down and eat a whole entire loaf of fresh baked sourdough bread....Mmmmmmm. That is the main thing that I have not been able to make a gluten-free replacement that tastes ANYTHING like the real thing...And please don't try to give me any recipes. I am an idiot when it...
  11. Yoplait yogurt is gluten free(except any with granola or cookie bits on top). I can't help you with the syrup. It seemed like there was so much conflicting info about the different brands, and just when I would think I had a safe one, the company would say it wasn't gluten-free. I finally gave up trying to figure out which syrups were safe and switched...
  12. I like the cinnamon raisin bagels too. I don't care for the tapioca cinnamon raisin bread though. It is sliced too thin and burns easily. I am also not happy with the texture. I love so many of the other foods they make that I can live without the cinnamon raisin bread. I want to try the festive bread, but I don't think it is late enough in the fall...
  13. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link The list of foods containing salicylates are found at the links above. Does your son also have asthma? He would have to have asthma too for the aspirin triad disease to be there. You can be sensitive to salicylates though and not have asthma. I don't know if it would still cause nasal polyps...
  14. Jnkmnky, So sorry to read about all that you have been going through. I've been off the board lately, and so I missed all the earlier posts. I sure do hope that the ENT is much more informed than the other doctors. That said, here is what I have to share about nasal polyps. My son is 9. He has had 2 sinus surgeries. His polyps grow inside...
  15. krisb, You might want to see if you can get to a dermatologist. There are so many different skin conditions out there, it could be that you have something completely different that either DH or Psoriasis. jenvan, If you decide to try the SCD diet and it works for you, then let me know. I did wonder if because I am eating more starchy grains...
  16. Mine doesn't. The DH I had when I was still on gluten was losts of small red bumps and blisters on my hands and it itched and was also very painful! I was so glad to get off gluten and it went away. My palms felt like a thoughsand needles were pricking them. If it were me, I would have a dermatologist (preferably a different one) re-evaluate the...
  17. Merika, The vitamin E is derived from soy lecithin. I don't react to it, but if you are extremely sensitive to the soy oils as well, then you should avoid this product. Most people with a soy allergy don't react to the oils, but when you say "most", then that means there are a few people who do react. Kandee, There is a website that sells dairy...
  18. I have both too. I agree with Richard, mine looked totally different. My psoriasis is getting worse since going gluten-free, which is frustrating for me. I was hoping it would get a bit better, but no. My psoriasis is like white flaky skin all piled up, layer upon layer. When I soak it and brush it off the skin underneath is red and smooth, and...
  19. I could have written that exact sentence. This is the same thing that happened to me. Once I was told that I was allergic to soy, I was able to pin point my allergic reactions to the soy protein. It was funny when the allergist said I was allergic to soy he says"but it shouldn't be a problem because most people don't eat much soy" (this is not true anymore...
  20. They are only in Southern California at this time. I hope they get to Fresno soon. I feel like I have been waiting forever! I'll be going to Whole Foods later this week and I'll have to ask them again when they might be getting the bakery items. Right now the only gluten-free items I can get at the bakery is a flourless chocolate cake for $25 that...
  21. That happens to me sometimes too with the avatars, but I can see her just fine! She is so beautiful! God bless, Mariann
  22. That is wonderful news. I'm sure it is such a relief for you to know that she is fine. But how frustrating to worry for so long, probably thinking the worst would happen. My middle son has always had more health issues than anyone else in the family and there were times when I thought that he might not make it to adulthood. Now that I know that...
  23. Congratulations! She is a cutie! (and she shares my mother's birthday too! ) God bless, Mariann
  24. I like the glue stick idea. For ladies it would be easy to carry in a purse. Or it could be kept in the glove compartment. I usually use my fingers, if I am not near a sink. At home I use a paper napkin, moistened with water and sponge that along the glue on the envelope. I do keep wet wipes in the car and we use them all the time to wash our hands...
  25. Thank you both for the support. I will work on him... God bless, Mariann
