    Yes, it could be celiac disease instead of IBS (or in combination with IBS). I was misdiagnosed with IBS 17 years ago. My GI doctor still insists IBS is my problem, not gluten, but I know better.     The Kinnikinnick donuts are very dense and cakelike donuts (but have a good taste). I agree with Richard about the kind of fluffy, light glazed donut that you want, they don't exist!     Wendy, 2-3 weeks *shouldn't* effect the results of the stool test, but it could if there were other factors. Such as if you might be IgA deficient, or if you were on a low gluten diet before being completely gluten-free, or if you had minimal damage and healed very quickly. The only ones who will still be around are probably parents of kids who have tested positive, and they would most likely have at least one gene...     I've heard this from multiple people as well. I think what Viola said is true. If they were properly diagnosed before, then they still have it. It could have gone into a sort of remission during puberty, but it is not gone, and they should still be gluten-free if they don't want to be sick again.
