  1. I added back eggs after one week off them. I did fine, except I tried Eggland's Best brand a couple of weeks later and reacted to them. I looked them up and the chickens are fed a diet with high amounts of soy. It came through to the egg. Stay away from those..or any you find locally that may be fed a high soy diet! If you add the eggs back, wait...

LOL..yes sometimes I think they wish we would just go away? When they don't have the answers it makes them look bad? Soo..the pain is there all the time, but sometimes gets worse? Is it worse before..or after you eat? Did they check you for an ulcer? I think they are reluctant to prescribe meds because they can't judge the correct dosage when...

Congrats on the appointment! He's the best. I'm counting down to my visit with Dr. Murray from Mayo Clinic. I go Apr. 30 for the week.
  4. You make a good point. Many don't think of vtamins/supplements as drugs, but they should. They can change the way RXs work too. I have a list of all meds, and all supplements written down and I take it with me when seeing any Dr. My new Internist looked at the list and said "that's a lot of supplements". She did a blood panel and when I went back to see...
  5. I'd drop the peanuts. I found them hard to digest..and you don't want to make your digestive system struggle. Are they dry roasted? Sometimes they add flavor enhancers to those and they don't agree with us as we're healing. I took out all of the main allergens, then went from there. I figured if I have leaky gut (proteins are leaving the intestine and entering...

If the pain were from your GB it would be URQ, same with liver or pancreas, not ULQ. That's good! It may just be the intestine having a sluggish spell now and then, as it heals, or maybe the rice IS something to look at? Some people just don't handle any grains well at first. I've gotten pain in that same area and it generally just resolves on it's...
  7. It's possible your daughter tested negative, but does have Celiac, or at least gluten intolerance. The tests are wrong with 20-30% of people. You could wait and have her retested..but why wait until more damage is done? Your hubby's swollen Lymph nodes are a sign that his body is fighting something. Most likely it's the Celiac disease, but because of...
  8. Oh sweetie don't give up! (((hugs))) When you get to the end of your rope..tie a knot and hang on! My hubby is only here on the weekends and he crabs about some of the things I cook too. It's not forever..it's just until we heal enough to settle into a routine...with "safe" foods to eat? This is what works for us... Talk to your hubby when you've both...
  9. It's scary that Dr.s would prescribe such high does and not do follow up! I've heard that nutrition is an elective course for Dr.s? It seems like the study of vitamins/minerals and diet should be mandatory! I guess writing an RX to offset symptoms that crop up is easier?
  10. You may have to be careful when around the straw that's used in horse's stalls too? It has the potential to have a good dose of gluten.
  11. I think the fear of the procedure is the hardest part? I've had several scopes and didn't find them to be a bad experience at all. Thank you for sharing your experience with the folks that are looking in and afraid of having a scope. I know we are all different, but honestly..I think going to the Dentist is much worse? I'm so glad you're doing well on...
  12. I can imagine you'd be over dosed with taking a B complex AND large doses of the separate B's! I take a B complex which is not a dramatic amount. We have to use common sense with these things. When I look at the list of foods that B's naturally occur in, I know I don't eat very many of those things. I was also DXed with severe intestinal damage along...
  13. I'm in USA. It kind of depends on the family here? We weren't huggers in my family. Before I married my husband we went to a family reunion of his family. They were huggers. It was so odd to me to have strangers come up to me and nearly squeeze my breath out! I never did get used to that in all of the years I've been in the family.

Yes! Well said. What sort of pain are you having? It might just be part of the healing process? Maybe we can figure this out? Do you still have your gallbladder? If so, have you had a HIDA scan to see if it's working properly? They kept telling me my GB was fine, but when the HIDA scan was done they found it wasn't working right.
  15. What..did they run out of foods to GMO? We are like the canaries in the coal mine. If anybody's going to react..it will probably be us?
  16. If I'm going to reheat anything in the microwave I used glass or ceramic dishes..never plastic! I use stainless steel pans, and have a couple of cast iron pans that I absolutely love. A well seasoned cast iron pan is just as good as..or beter than teflon. It adds a small amount of iron to your food too, instead of chemicals, like non-stick does. The...
  17. It's really a shame you didn't get tested before going gluten-free. Once you're off gluten it's hard for someone with an intolerance to go back on for testing, whether it's full blown Celiac or not? If you go to a Dr. he/she may want you back on for testing? A gene test will only tell you if you have the common genes associated with Celiac, but many people...
  18. A little positive? So...she's supposed to go her merry way and come back when the damage is more? I hope she stays gluten-free. As she heals her iron levels will come up. Dr.s make me crazy! When they know a test isn't 100% accurate, and continuing to eat gluten when your body is intolerant of it, can cause more damage, they don't err on the side of...
  19. My sister has Crohn's. Hers won't go into remission, so she has to get IV therapy to keep her immune system knocked down. I've told her she should try gluten-free, but she won't do it. She says she can't. I think she tried for just a few days and gave up? I told her she should be tested for Celiac, but she won't do that either.
  20. Thanks to this thread I went to Home Depot yesterday to see if they had kale plants. They did. In fact all of their herbs and veggies were 1/2off. I got kale, spinach, broccoli, 2 kinds of tomatoes, stevia, strawberries, lavender, and sweet mint. I grew mint where we used to live so I know it spreads like crazy. I planted that in a big pot. I'm...
  21. That video was hilarious! If it were me..I'd take that door stop off and mount it to the wall. I can't imagine waking to that at 5:00am.
  22. Your symptoms sure do fit. I hope you get the answers you need to get on the path to wellness.
  23. Your symptoms could fit with Celiac, or gluten intolerance. Ask your Dr. to run a Celiac panel. Do your best to continue to eat gluten until the blood is drawn for the test. If you test negative, still give gluten-free a try for 3 months? Many of us (20-30%) test negative but have Celiac or gluten intolerance. It would be a good idea to omit dairy...
