  1. www.parathyroid.com High Parathyroid Hormone Levels in Patients with Intestinal Absorption Problems, Such as: Gastric Bypass Surgery, and Celiac Sprue, and Crohn's Disease. There is a growing group of patients who have dramatic life-long problems absorbing calcium in their diet. These patients are now illustrated on our graph in the purple area. These...
  2. I've mentioned my old doc completely by-passed these low marks on my lab work. I looked each one up bbut was hoping someone here might have some insight? Below normal low levels: RBC CNT RDW K ALK PHOS Above normal high levels: LYMPH MCH MCHC Blood calcium was also high until I went on BF diet.
  3. Good to see people being able to find humor with their situations. I am glad the info helped! Do you take supplements to help with the side-effects?
  4. Does anyone know? I have done alot of healing in the last 8 months on a gluten-free diet. Have been able to decrease my vit D supplement, I can take in small bits of oats without it going right thru me, alcohol no longer goes straight to my veins and I am tolerating small amounts of spice now. I have been really careful. Went out to celebrate my b.day, had...
  5. Xanthan gum upsets my stomach, feels like someone just punched me. Guar gum is even worse....I will get dizzy and have stomach and digestive issues for 3 days so I stay away from all gums.
  6. Been experimenting and might have finally found something that worked. It has been very hard to get cookies and cakes to turn out without xanthan gum but I haven't been using it because it doesn't set well on my stomach. I made cookies and a cornbread this week tha actualy did well, my cornbread didn't fall apart and the cookies were better. I used the full...
  7. That is amazing! I have a dog with alot of stomach issues. We'd be gone too long and come home to messes from one end of the house to the other. I started feeding her yogurt in her food twice a day and th boughts stopped, however she will still end lots of grass and she will lick the hair off the other dogs' beds so I am thinking her stomach is still giving...
  8. I had no problem wit probiotics when I was unable to eat dairy.
  9. Check also any spices you may be using to season foods with. I had a break out on my fingers from cajun salt, not on my food but in the water crab legs were boiled in and then I was touching the legs.
  10. Thanks IrishHeart, seems like I am contniually thanking you for the info. Funny, now that you mention Llysyne, I actually stopped taking it because doc said it was a waste of money and now that I think about it, that's when I started having problems with canker sores. I did some research on canker sores online and it was suggested that sodium lauryl sulfate...
  11. One of my daughters ws the same and we kept going to docs, she missed tons of school. Finally, a German nurse told us to have her eat cultured yogurts, that did help. I was having the same problem and doc thought it was from working with children, suggested that I run an air purifier. However, she and I then started on a good probiotic. They make probiotics...
  12. I have tried a couple different ones. Both helped my digestive issues but it did nothing to stop the dizziness Iwill have for 3+ weeks afterwards.
  13. I would only eat oats labled as gluten-free. Problem is not so much in the oat itself, we all have our sensativities, but unless labeled gluten-free you are at risk of oats being processed in the same machine as other foods containing gluten.
  14. I never thought of it in the terms of how difficult the diet is and that makes perfect logical sense.
  15. Thanks IrishHeart, you're right. There's nothing to prove, investigate or figure out really. I'm doing what is working and I am improving so I press on as is.
  16. This is really really an unfortunate situation. I think your sister is confused and she might not even realize it. It is possible that gluten is giving her children problems but I wonder why she doesn't realize wheat pasta and wheat tortillas have gluten. Is it because it's not white and she is associating white bleached flour to gluten and not whole wheat...
  17. Sorry to hear about your adventure, I hope you get to feeling better soon! This is someting I really struggled with myself and I am not one to really want to have all the attention turned my way, I definately don't want people to go out of their way for me however, after months of not getting betytr I knew I had to change or else I was never going to get...
  18. Butterfl8.....your profile pic is just too cute!! Way off subject but had to add.
  19. Sub dairy has additives that are worse than dairy itself. I would be watching for carrageenan, any gum, and if you are soy sensative then that of course too. I tried many but I cannot tolerate carrageenan or the gums and actually found I did better by taking a lactose aide and using actual milk.
  20. JUST CRAZY! And I do appreciate the sharing. I have asked myself a ton of questions since my appt with old doc. What I do know for sure, is that sine going off gluten there has been more than a change in my digestive system, I contribute my emotional health now to a gluten-free diet. I have been troubled with depression and have had times of great anger and...
  21. Good to know, thank you. I have been racking my brain and researching more, eliminated MS in the process. I do not have diabetes or Lyme disease so I am thinking what else could I have neuro issues, bone loss, malabsorption along with all the gastro issues, and show improvement by taking gluten out of the diet? Something makes no sense. I have read that kidney...
  22. Really? This makes e feel a little less frustrated with the situation knowing someone else has been thru the same. I wonder why the hesitation among doc for celiac diagnosis.
  23. Are you talking canker sores? I have been gluten-free for 8 months and am still having trouble with canker sores.
  24. Isn't it something? I am floored actually. I realize that celiac has symptoms very similiar to many other diseases however, one by one we have eliminated several and I think I can ake MS off that possible list. I'll just press forward with what I know works and assume my new doc is correct.
  25. YAY! Wonderful news!!!!! Best to you and enjoy the holidays!
