No, does your cod liver tabs have vit D in them? I was able to cut out my D and just use the codliver that has D in it.
  2. There are 3 types of nerves: motor, sensory, and autonomic. Motor nerves control muscles and voluntary movement; sensory nerves transmit signals from specilaized receptors in the skin, jointys, and internal organs; autonomic nerves control involuntary functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, and bowel & baldder. Motor Symptoms: Weakness...

Yes, this is one of the great assets of cod liver oil, and because of the D3 in the tabs I was actually able to back away from any additional vit D supplement. The A in the cod liver oil may just help your nails. You'll have to let us know how it works for you.
  4. Congratulations on your diagnosis. Keep reading labels and educating yourself on what yu can and cannot eat, lot of good info right here on this site. For me, I wanted to know just how sensative I was, could I have any gluten? I also wanted to make sure of what was suspected and so I consumed gluten here and there as experiments at first, realizing the longer...
  5. I had the same problem, thyroid was fine also. I started taking an extra zinc tab a day along with my multi and BioSil drops and my hair stopped falling out. I know someone who took Evening Primrose oil tabs and it helped her.
  6. Keep this in mind.....if you are cooking with nonstick you do not want to cook your food in a pan which the non stick has been marked up. Who washes the dishes at your house? Have you ever seen how much goo gets left behind in a strainer or even a pan when pasta has been cooked in it? That's what you have to avoid. Once that goo heats up it can pass gluten...
  7. It is definately a process and I think it is common to feel tired of always having to work at the diet so hard. I know I went thru all kinds of emotions, anger, frustration, sadness. The other thing I would suggest here too is that you make sure where all your vit levels are. Sometimes if one gets too low , or even too high, I will definately be more emotional...
  8. I was having a real hard time with my back especially, my whole back was stiff, just felt like it could not move. Husband thought my back was out of place and my muscles were tight to protect my spine. The stiffness was also in my neck. I had massages done, I was soaking in hot baths. I started trying to think what I had done differently with my vits and...

A couple months ago I posted about my vision difficulties. I was having trouble with yellow leaves blinding me with brightness, stripes on shirts or blinds on windows were blinding. Someone suggested that I try cod liver oil. I read about it and started taking 3 gel tabs daily. It was a matter of days before my issues were resolved. Yesterday I went to...
  10. If you can get some bloodwork done, you might very well have your answer. I would especially note the D, iron and B12.
  11. Waht got me a few months back, itching like a dog with fleas, was eating too many foods with salicylates: tomatoes, eggplant, olive oil, canned green olives, etc. Check that as well as your toiletries. I used a different hairspray the other day and it ended up burning my scalp, still feels bad.
  12. Celiac is a crazy thing, not only is it sneaky and hard to test for, it is my understanding that it can exist in the body in a dormant-like state so while you may think you are the only one in your family that has it, it is more than likely that other family members have it too. Sometimes testing for this is more difficult but there is genteic testing that...
  13. And before I knew about gluten intolerence I may have been that waitress but I find it sad and unfortunate, yet funny at the same time now.
  14. Do you smoke or use tabacco in any form? Drink alcohol? Have you been able to link this to foods or spice like tomatoes, green peppers, lemonade, oregano? Do you try not to eat anything after 7 pm?
  15. Teacher and Lucy, celiac/gluten-intolrance is not a choice we make just like someone who has diabetes does not make the choice to have it either. What we do have a choice about is what we decided to do about it. Just like a diabetic, we can let it go but we're not going to get any better. Infact, if you let this go, it might take awhile but it is likely things...
  16. Julie & Moose, funny replies......it is amazing what we end up dealing with!
  17. Yes, I bought it thru Amazon. The company will send you a letter then offering any online advise, later they will send a letter with a reordering special. Plese let me know how this works for you.
  18. I have run into alot of the same issues. My husband is retired AF and we are stationed at Ramstein, Germany and while we are entitled to base medical I am alot of times refered off base and then you run into the language barrier and it becomes a mess-up in getting your labs back to your doc who can do something about the sitautions. Do you have access...
  19. This all gets a little confusing and at times I am not sure I completely understand either. However, it is my understanding that a person can have celiac but it can stay in a remissive state and they can live this way their whole lives or something can happen and it will flare. I am 48, my adult daughters (26 & 30) have never been tested but both are...
  20. For me, I think there is a few factors involved. For many years, without knowing (just accepted it as it was), I could feel this anxiety over issues building inside me. I worked out and did alot of talking to myself to clear my head. I was under alot of pressure but I was having trouble dealing with it, and I do beleive the pressure was that which most would...
  21. Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet? Are these the only neuro issues you are having? Any burning or pins and needles poking feeling? I'll attempt to answer this from my experiences. I was having a pins and needles poking feeling between my toes, between my fingers and in my eyes off and on for 2 years before my symptoms came to a head. I went...
  22. Oddly enough I have had some really good waiters and waitresses that had good knowledge of the menu and what ingredients the foods are made with, especially in the states. I live in Germany so not only is there a language barrier issue but then you have those that will knowck themselves out and others who just don't care.
  23. When you speak to your GI mention to him/her what you did here. Let them know you are questioning gluten. They are going to more than likely want to run some tests. If you can mange the tests you will need to saty on gluten. However, realize that the testing is not real dependable so while the tests say you are negative for celiac, you may test a year later...
  24. I hope this helps some of you. If you are in the detox these tips may not work but this is what I have tried and it does help. Make sure your vit levels are where they need to be. If your body is not receiving enough nutrients sleep will be difficult. Exercise of some sort during the day but not close to bedtime. Do not take vits before bedtime....
