  1. Oh yeah, I do so hear ya! It's like my world caves.....I get an odd headache, my brain function starts slowing down, I become irritable, stomach feels sick, tired, dizzy. Sometimes I just want to hide as I know for me the first week is the worst. It is not easy to deal with so I try real hard to have no contact and take no chances. Nine months I was off balance...

  4. Sorry that you are having to deal with this. I do understand and I think you will find wonderful support here. You are right, you did not choose this and keep that in mind. Your husband is more than likely trying confused himself and rather than vocalize, his thoughts may be internalized. We expect our loved ones to be there for us and give us the support...
  5. It might not be gluten. The gluten-free cake more than likely had xanthan gum and it is very possible the sweet potatoes had high fructose....I can't have either. Good thing, is while the symptoms may not feel good at the time I have found these will not last as long as the reaction to gluten.
  6. Taking your son off dairy as a trial effort might be a good idea. There are other food items that can give some issues besides dairy and soy so keep these in mind: High fructose (in some ketchup, BBQ sauce, candy, some drinks) Carrageenan (in ice cream, whip cream, lactose-free milk) Xanthan gum (in candy, ice cream, and many gluten-free foods, some...

  8. Really? Oh man! Arthritis runs in the family too. Guess I will have to address with doc. Thanks for the reply.
  9. I think sometimes we have to avoid talking certain subjects with certain people. We are all entitled to our opinions and some are more free to express their thoughts with regard as to how it will be received by others. However, we have to do what is best for us no matter what someone else feels is right. You are the one doing what is best for you and the...
  10. Wow! Really? I didn't know this and it makes sense. I keep telling myself that my family is being effected by gluten and they are not even aware.....gallbladder surgery has been very popular in my family. Thanks for sharing that.
  11. Caroline, I have been dealing with sciatic nerve issues for awhile I havae had it make my feet fall asleep but this is the first with the type of pain I am having in the left foot. 19. This has me curious now. Let me ask you.....I also I am having a pain in my left foot. When my sciatic was flared I thought it was the sciatic nerve that was causing my pain in the foot but I have received a deegree of relief on the nerve but the pain in the foot is still there so I am now wondering if they are not connected? The foot feel like the toes are...
  20. The herbal supplement I am taking is called Age-Less and says it supports healthy inflammatory responses. It contains holy basil, ginger, boswellin, baikai skullcap, reservatrol, berberine. Thanks for the suggestion on the milk thistle, I have some, will try it.

  22. My sciatic nerve is subsiding, for now, but my back is really giving me trouble. Doc is doing a complete work-up on my back next visit, checking for infection, etc. I have been given a prescript pain killer which I have not tried. I don't want to kill the pain solely, I am trying to alievate the inflammation, my back and neck are stiff. I have had massages...
