Caroline, I am seen at a military base hospital for most opf my care, sometimes they send me to a German doc. ARCHIVED Anyone Here Suffer From Inflammation?
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm bringing an old post back to life. Mushroom, can you describe to me what your foot feel like when your arthritis acts up and does it stay with you day and night for months or can ou get relief? This pain in my foot is not going away. My back is good, no more stiffness. My back feels in place and despiet that my sciatic nerve is still giving me issues... -
I really hope you have a good doc. I finally had to figure it all out for myself, reading and research. Are your feet burning? Are you having any pins and needles feeling in the feet? Do you ahve any problems with the sciatic nerve? Burning and pins & needles are definately something that can be attributed to neuropathy. I put another post under "Coping...

WOW! Very informative and interesting, thank for the reply. I do have problems with inflammation. Maybe I should try some of this myself.

Thanks Bea for that info. How can you tell when your liver is clogged? I have heard this mentioned before. I did the liver cleanse as I am aware how so many toxins can pollute the liver, things like prescript drugs, stress, injected meats, fruits and veggies w/pesticides. Eating those for years I could not tell that my liver was suffering. My energy was going...

Caroline and Bea, please do share what herbs you are using and how they are helping, I would be inteeted in the information. The product (Ellimis) that I used was a 3-staged, 3 month program that was supposed to flush (detox) the liver. It definately detoxed my liver but it tore up my stomach and cuased stones in my kidneys. I have been extremely careful...

"Nutrients for Neuropathy" by John A. Senneff: {Even if we were more careful as to what we eat and even if all the foods we consume retained all the nutrients nature intended to be there and even if all the RDIs were fully met, the nutrients we take in would still not be enough for many of us. Example, a boiled egg supplies .7 micrograms of vitamin B1...

I was having all kinds of vision issues....blurred, double, striped pattrns were blinding, certain colors were too bright and hurt my eyes. Went to eye doc, eyes were fine, he suggested a diabetes test which I did and that turned out fine. Finally someone here on this site mentioned they tried cod liver oil for some of the same issues so I tried it. Took...

ARCHIVED Too Old For A Diagnosis?
AVR1962 replied to Finally-45's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I hear you guys.....I am 48 and what I cansay looking back now, totally unaware at the time, is that for years I was slowly destroying my body with what I was ingesting. I was having the typical digestive issues until much later. It was the damage of a malnurished body that I was starting to feel and knew something was wrong. I had alot of denial, alot of... -
Really be carefully with the herbal detoxes. Sounds like you have found something that works well but all too many are overloaded with herbs that actually be harmful in large doses. These are not FDA approved and therefore there is no way to check the product properly. I did a liver detox a year ago and had a terrible react to it, ended up in ER with my heart...

I also have osteopenia, was taking a great deal of vitD but have recently been able to decrease. Are you getting a low acidic diet to regain growth in the bones? Read about it if you have not heard of it. Also, if your doc is recommending various prscripts to protect the bones be very wary and read on them as well. What happens with some, perhaps not I, is...

A family member of mine who suffers from anxiety had been gluten-free for over 2 years and just recently started taking anxiety meds which we were just talking about last night. She said it has made an amazing difference for her. There was no mention of it making her feel more fatigue.

ARCHIVED Facial Numbness, Dizziness, Joint Pain, And Other Issues
AVR1962 replied to Jeffiner's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Sounds to me like nerve damage. We have various groups of nerves in our body that connect to the various tissues, joint, and organs. The various groups manage certain areas of the body, one of the various groups of nerves manages functions to the brain and eyes which will cause the issues you are describing. I have neuropathy issues and wanted to learn more... -
Sounds to me like you are describing Celiac. All the things you mentioned were all too familiar. I would question the doc a bit further about the MRI on the brain. I too had an MRI and I honestly thought I was going to be diagnosed with MS, however, from my reading I recall that lesions on the brain from MS are located slightly differently than that of a...

Yes, I would be surprised if you did not see improvements using cod liver oil. I was having ALOT of visual issues. You probably can still get cod liver in the old fashion bottles but they actually now have oil tabs you can take. A person can end up with toxicity from either D or A vits but in this form it is my understanding that the body processes it better...

Several others had posted the same so it was good to see this in writing by somoene in the medical profession.

Open Original Shared Link One of the reasons I wanted to know more about nerve damage, not only for my own benefit, but I could not understand if why B complex was suggested to other patients with neuropathy issues who were not celiac and not suffereing from a vitamin deficiency. I had been told that B complex was ONLY good for solving neuropathy issues...

https://www.celiac.com/articles/22040/1/The-Correlation-Between-Gluten-Intolerance-and-Neurological-Disease/Page1.html After establishing a gluten-free diet, the patients showed considerable improvement of their neurological symptoms. However, patients that had neurological symptoms lasting longer than 12 months, did not typically show signs of neurological...

Welcome! I think you will be amazed what all you will connect with celiac as you start to aliminate it from your diet. The more you read, the more you will realize that this has been the root of many of your health issues for quite sometime. I know it really changed my reality, the way I looked at the past and even my future. However, you will start to feeling...

Causes for neuropathy vary, ranging from simple vitamin deficiencies to tumors. It used to be that if you had neuropathy your were presumed to have diabetes or be an alcoholic. Alcoholism was often suspected, for lack of another explanation, and a diagnosis of neuropathy carried a stigma. It was not openly discussed in polite society. Today, we know there...

ARCHIVED How Did Your Stiff/achiness Feel?
AVR1962 replied to Nen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I take a multi plus 2 extra magnesium tabs a day. -
The balance issues will go away but you have to get real strict with the gluten-free diet. I was starting to wonder if I was ever going to NOT be dizzy, spent 9 months dizzy every day, all day long which was no fun at all. Once I able to stop any contact with gluten it took about 4 weeks and the dizziness went away and I knew then it was gluten ataxia and...

Yes, very good info in the book. Some of the things I have been experiencing are symptoms I was not associating with neuropathy.
