I am out of town and ate at Outback tonight....the staff was VERY nice and accomodating, asking lots of questions to assure they wrote down my order correctly, etc. The waitress said they even had a recent meeting to reiterate the importance of making sure if someone is ordering off the gluten-free menu to double check everything, etc. HOWEVER, I still...

I too can hear the faint sound of what sounds like a tv, radio, etc. on when the house is quiet. I ask my BF if he can hear it and he looks at me like i'm nuts. I also will get up to see if it's coming from the computer (my BF likes to listen to music when on the computer). To make myself feel better I blame it on the neighbors, although I know it's not...

Turtle posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi I was wondering if anyone uses Tamari Soy Sauce??? Supposedly it's gluten-free but I've used it a few times and end up w/ glutened symptoms...just curious if anyone had any input. Also, is coffee something you have to check w/ each manufactor about? I'm talking about already ground up coffee you buy at the store, not coffee that you get at Starbucks... -

ARCHIVED Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt
Turtle replied to terri's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My first "I got glutened" experience occured today. It was from Stoneyfield Flavored Yogurt. I never realized until after the fact that their flavored yougurts have "traces of gluten" in them. For some reason I thought they were "safe". Oops! AMAZING how just that little "trace" can make someone w/ Celiac so sick and boy was I ever sick....Lesson learned... -

ARCHIVED Ever Bailed On A Trip B/c Of Cd?
Turtle replied to jenvan's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. I'm going through the same thing. I'm exhausted all the time and like you I too rely on my weekends to regroup, catch up on sleep, rest and give my body a break so I can tackle another week. I too have used tons of sick leave and I am having to reserve days for REALLY bad days. I'm also frustrated at... -
I just used them a week ago for a gluten-free chicken dip I made...no problems. I agree w/ the others it could be the corn. Good luck!

I am having this issue too. I was diagnosed in April, began the gluten-free diet on May 1st and since then my moods are up and down. It drives me nuts b/c I feel so out of control. I try to exercise (walking, bike riding, etc.) which helps some....I know that many people go on meds for this (or that's what i've read). For me, I want that to be a last...

ARCHIVED Back To The Coke Debate....
Turtle posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
After reading the discussion on the board as to whether or not Coke Products are gluten-free or not, I decided to contact my parent's best friends/neighbors b/c Mr. Tom not only works for Coca-Cola but they eat gluten-free. His response was this: "All coke products are gluten-free in the U.S. However, Some products sold in Japan are not." I feel... -
I too decided to hold off....I'd rather use the $ to buy some of those Pamela's gluten-free brownie mix. HAHA! Plus I did a little more research and read that you should really see a dietician instead of a nutritionist. Either way, i'm currently satisfied w/ all that I learn here...and it's fun and friendly and the best part....I don't have to sit in traffic...
