  1. That's wonderful! CONGRATS!!!
  2. I'm checking out their website and looking around for any gluten-free products that they have, but please post if you've had any good (or bad) experiences with any of their products. Thanks!!
  3. GREAT info! THANKS so much!!! My parents have been keeping their eyes open for gluten-free beer down there in ATL for me. I'm sure it was also part of their plan to bribe me to come home to see them. However, your info would explain why they can't find it! HA!
  4. I agree with gfp...just be honest and suggest that she bring something like a drink, flowers, etc. Something you know 100% for sure will not allow for any CC! I have been up front and honest w/ my friends in this capacity b/c I fear CC since I've had it happen so much and so often before making "house rules" for the sake of my health. My friends have been...
  5. This post reminds me of a good, quick recipe ya'll might be interested in: Combine candy corn with salted peanuts (gluten-free ones of course ). I sometimes will also add in some plain M&M's. And ENJOY!! It makes for a great Halloween or fall treat!!! It's also perfect for putting out on the "grazing" table at Thanksgiving too!
  6. WOO-HOO!!!
  7. Thanks for brining this up. Very helpful and a good reminder that I need to do something about my cast iron skillet. I haven't yet made anything gluten-free in it yet. But like you i've made gluten cornbread in it previously so guess I better get scrubbing!
  8. Okay....I just pulled out the first batch!!! Leapin Lizards!!! These are AWESOME!! The 2nd batch I have baking...I added the halloween plain M&M's to them... Okay...the addition of the M&M's makes them even better!!! I think I have a new addiction....
  9. Great!!! Thanks!!! My fridge is not huge so i'm glad to know that the pantry is okay for most! Gotta go check on my cookies.... Thanks again!
  10. Okay! Thanks for all the good suggestions. I usually just do what you do Momma Goose (Lisa) in keeping a bag of Bob's Red Mill here, Rice Flour there. But.....i'm learning more gluten-free recipes and it would make more economical sense to mix up a big batch of gluten-free flour to keep on hand. Thanks again for helping me out and THANK YOU for...
  11. Ohhhhh, now it makes sense! So my next question is: Have any of you made up these gluten-free flour mixes to keep "on hand"? More importantly: Do you have to keep it in the fridge or freezer or is a really good airtight container okay?? You guys are wonderful, thanks again for all your help. Otherwise no telling what disaster...
  12. This is what I look like right now so no, I still don't get it. HAHA! For example: Bette Hagman's Basic gluten-free Flour Mix says: 2 parts rice flour 1 part potato starch 1 part tapioca flour Her Bean Flour mix: 1 part garfava bean flour 1 part sourghum flour 1 part cornstarch 1 part tapioca flour Thanks Andrea...
  13. Okay...this may REALLY confirm my dumbness for all of you but I need help! Bette Hagman calls for 1 part this, 1 part that in some of her gluten-free flour recipes... What on earth is a part???
  14. My dear Patti: You ALWAYS come to my rescue....I think you were put on this earth to be my guardian angel or mentor or something of that nature! I really mean that. Potato Buds is a great idea....thanks so much. I've never used them before so i'll have to check it out! Glad you like my new pic. I think it looks like i'm dancin on a gluten...
  15. I work with Autistic children and many parents choose to put their autistic child/children on a gluten-free/CF diet. Well...our CEO came to me this morning and said: "I though you might be interested in this since you have to eat gluten-free". He presented me with a book called "Special Diets for Special Kids Two". It's by Lisa Lewis, PhD. It's got...
  16. I initially got an e-mail back from Kristi Goodman at GM stating they apologized and that they would send me a check to re-imburse me for the box of Cocoa Puffs that I had bought. Today in the mail is my "check"....What they sent me was 2 coupons. One coupon is for one FREE general mills product the other coupon is for $1 off any general mills product...
  17. Hey Courtney: I've only been able to find the Progresso Mushroom and the Progresso Wild Rice soups. I think I found them the last time at Publix and I cleaned out the shelf b/c they have been so hard to find. I guess if I'd get off my lazy shell I could "ask" the grocery stores to order it... I've looked for the Health Valley brand of soups but...
  18. Hey cricketw: WELCOME to the boards! Just wanted you to know that I too have had the same experience with people saying to me: "oh wow, you should lose a ton of weight now". I just want to scream when I get this response. It is so frustrating! Especially when you're one of the ones with celiac that has GAINED weight since going gluten...
  19. That's cool. I currently live in Columbia but i'm a Dawg fan so i'm the minority any way you look at it around here! HAHA! My Uncle was big into Clemson...I used to visit them in Seneca from time to time...and I also have friends in Walhalla! Have a great night!
  20. Ahhh you beat me to it. I was just about to post the same link! Is that Clemson in your avatar???
  21. Will you post the pineapple fried rice recipe please?
  22. Thanks for sharing! My parents live in ATL. It's always great to hear of new places that are safe to eat at down there. A great thai place that my parents go to often and that I MUST go to everytime i'm in town is: Phuket Thai Restaurant (everyone makes fun of the name b/c it sounds like a dirty word ) (404) 325-4199 2839 Buford Hwy Ne Atlanta...
  23. Wow...this is one of those questions we could sit around and talk about for hours b/c the list is so long for how this forum has been so helpful to each of us. I don't even know where to start....but i'll try: First and foremost I would have to say that there are some WONDERFUL people on this forum. It's such a pleasure to come to this forum and to...
  24. I thought this thread said "rice cookies".... HAHAHAHAHA!!! I think I need to get to an eye doctor! Sorry I can't be more helpful with your rice cooker, not rice cookies search! Good Luck!
