  1. My dd can't do dairy, eggs or soy. Breakfast is an adventure for us!! My dd loves to have a sweet potato for breakfast. I steam the potato, peeling and all. I sprinkle fresh ground flax seed and top it wtih EV Olive Oil. I also take Shelton ground turkey and make homemade sausage patties. I make a big batch at a time and flash freeze them. I can pull...
  2. What a blessing!!! I'm really excited for you and your daughter.
  3. I have done a candida diet for about eight months. I'm still following some of the rules but I'm not as strict as before. I've tried several programs but for the last six months I've been using Whole Approach. You can check them out at www.wholeapproach.com. There is a section on the candida diet that has printables lists. This helps you know how many severings...
  4. Hi, I wanted to share a website with you that has lots of information on herbs and supplements. Open Original Shared Link They have information about herb studies, safety, dosage etc. You can go to the section on Herbs & Supplements A to Z to find the section on echinacea. They have a really cool section on perscription drugs and helpful/harmful...
  5. This summer we cooked at our home mostly but there is a health food store you can get supplies from. I think the name of the store is Health-A-Rama. They have gluten-free cereal, flours, rice milk and several gluten-free staples. They also have supplements and a small section of frozen foods and organic veggies. I think they might have switched ownership...
  6. To get the "foil" effect you first you apply your glimmer to the lid dry, then you take your brush, dip it in water, squeeze the excess out, dip it in the same glimmer and go back over the gimmer with the wet brush & glimmer. They have pictures on the forum showing exactly what colors they used and the steps they've taken to foil. I'm pretty dense with...
  7. Fellow Bare Escentual Ladies: Have you checked out the Bare Escentuals Addicts forum on Delphi Forums? I just found the forum a few days ago and I got some really good tips. Did you know that you can use BE on your nails and then put a coat of clear nail polish for a hint of color???? Cool Also, you might checkout "foiling" eyeshadows. I tried foiling...
  8. I rely on ginger tea when I'm nauseous. I even fix a diluted cup for my dd when her tummy hurts. I usually sweeten with stevia, honey or a tiny bit of organic sugar. My favoriate ginger tea is Alvita Ginger Root. The Alvita ginger tea is pure ginger and has worked best for me. The tea does give me a warming sensation but works pretty quickly. I usually drink...
  9. Just wanted to share the e-mail response in case anyone is thinking about Planet Harmony products.....
  10. My daughter likes cooked millet with a dash of cinnamon and dried cranberries.
  11. Stephanie, Thanks for the post, I'm really excited! I had posted a question about Planet Harmony candies and I just got an e-mail that can not guarantee that our products are gluten free. Thanks again!!
  12. Yes misskris, thanks so much!! We gluten-free, EF, SF, CF people need all the help we can get.
  13. Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if the Planet Harmony candies, especially the Natural Gummy Bears, Gummy Worms and Jelly Beans are gluten-free. I'm trying to find a candy that's gluten-free, EF, CF and soy free. I would love if it also didn't have artificial flavors and colors. Seems like a lot to ask!!! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!
  14. I like to take a coffee grinder (only for grinding spices) and grind my flax seeds as I need it. This way I know the ground flax is as fresh as possible. Only takes a few seconds and I've ground enough for muffins. I like to use flax and amaranth for a very hearty muffin. My dd will eat it as a hot cereal with a little cinnamon and stevia and the muffins...
  15. Hi Linda, As others have mentioned potato flour and potato starch are not the same. I just fished out a couple of my books to see if I could find a some details for you. "Potato Starch or Potato Starch Flour" is made from raw white potatos. "Potato Flour" is made from cooked potatos. Potato starch is good for breading because it browns and crips...
  16. Thanks MissKris!!! I can't wait to try this recipe. I've been searching for gluten-free, CF, Egg Free, and Soy Free recipes and I haven't found very many. I would love to have your bread recipe if you wouldn't mind sharing.
  17. These are great lunch ideas. This is really helpful in planning for school.
  18. Thanks for the information on Nature's Path, I was wondering about their cereals. I was concerned about the trace amounts of soy in the Envirokidz. I talked with the manufacture and they said that they didn't put soy in the Gorilla Munch but it was run on the same line as soy cereals. They said they clean the equipment after each run. In the mean time...
  19. I use California Baby and organic extra-virgin olive oil. I keep a spray bottle of oil in the bathroom. I've found that if I put on the oil right after I wash my hands, etc.....that is absorbs really well. The olive scent goes away rather quickly. I use the oil when my skin if feeling really dry. My dd has eczema and I use both the olive and coconut oil on...

  21. I too have suffered from CRC and last summer it started presenting itself in different ways. I started have pain in my lower back in shoting pains in my legs. I had thrush really bad when my dd was a baby and the candida became resistant to Diflucan etc. I came across the Whole Approach system. I've been doing the program for six months and I've had really...
  22. Hi, My dd is getting ready for pre-school and I'm trying to get information together for the director and teacher. They have dealt with food allergies but not celiac disease. The director dosen't know about celiac disease but is willing to help. I was wondering what would be good information to give her so she could read up on celiac disease. I did...
  23. After reading this post last night, I decided to make rice crispy treats. I've only made them a couple of times but my daughter loved them. I decided to make homemade marshmallows for the treats and it was soooo much fun!!!!
  24. Brandi, Does Jacob have any allergies or other food intolerances? My dd gets a rash around the outside of her mouth when she's exsposed to gluten or any of her allergens (both food and inhalents). The rash around her mouth was the first clue we had that food was an issue. She also says the rash hurts and itches. I think sometimes she'll scratch and not...
  25. The Ener-g Egg Replacer is in a powder form that you mix with water. I can get the mix at my local health food store. The replacer does help the batter to rise some. I've found that if I use too much it makes the texture gummy. Adding the fruit and oil helps to add moisture. You can go to The Gluten Free Pantry website and download their egg free recipe...
