  1. Well wrapping up a WHEAT challenge with our three and a half year old after about two years of being gluten-free. Let me tell you it was HARD to give him his first intentional wheat product. I knew deep inside me it was the right thing to do but still.... Looking back and pulling it all together
  2. What did your doc say? Your Total IGA is above range, but the rest are normal. Are you on a gluten-free diet? if so how long?
  3. Or all that sugar... esply on an empty stomach, not at all a good plan.
  4. Are OATS ever a hidden ingredient, under "natural flavors" or any other silly name, or will oat always appear in the ingredients clearly? (in case it matters... we live in USA)
  5. Yes! This one: Overcoming Runaway Blood Sugar by Dennis Pollock Open Original Shared Link www.amazon .com/Overcoming-Runaway-Blood-Sugar-Hypoglycemics/dp/0736917217 Its very current, copyright 2006 even. You still need to see your doc. A reading of over 180 is NOT NORMAL. Get on the low carb diet like we told you in this thread, read that...
  6. and "street cred" too!
  7. Tanks for the update!!!!
  8. Perhaps we better pray you do not get a bald surgeon who is jealous of your hair then!
  9. Goergie... YES that is normal, I believe I mentioned earlier in this thread.. carbs are ADDICTIVE. You are going through withdrawal. That is normal! Most ppl can break said addition in less then a week, even as fast as 3 days. You will be fine. Remember this is not ZERO carb, you do need some. How much will be a matter of trail and error. Try keeping it under...
  10. You just need to stop eating all those carby foods. Eat only salad type veggies for your carbs, over load on good healthy fat and protein (ie meat), and you will stabilize. It will take time. Over time you can balance out your diet, but right now you need to get stable. You do need to get in to see your doc ASAP, and if the ER is the only way to do...
  11. Sorry, I was thinking of pure glucose when I was typing. Either way, sugar still hits FASTER then anything else, hence why they use it in emergency cases to pull ppl out of crashes. It is the worst thing for your blood sugar that I know off. At least with rice/etc you have the digestion time to get fat/protein in you to prevent the crash. With pure...
  12. F5 is browser specific, but yes that is reload/refresh on some systems. Sometimes it works with out the shift, but not always so I always tell everyone to hold shift since that seems to work every time (with out getting techy, it changes the way the reload/refresh works to be a more complete way)
  13. Wow Lynn! I am just finding about this now! I will be praying for you.. but I am not sure if I should focus the pray on your surgery, or finding a new hair do!
  14. Yes. Common bug. Hold down shift and hit the refresh button (or reload button) in your browser and the new one will show.
  15. If my Grandfather was still alive, he would tell you to smash your pinky toe with a hammer and you would forget all about your headache! He was a bit of a character!
  16. While I do not react like that, that is normal for some people. In fact the lost of appetite part is why many diet pills have caffeine in them. Acts as a stimulant so you burn more calories, and suppresses your appetite at the same time. The other things you listed are very common side effects to getting more caffeine then your system can handle.
  17. Well there is a product here called "Sloppy Joe" or "Manwhich" you can buy, but I do not do that. All I do brown up some chop meat in an electric pan. Onces it is completely cooked I add some low carb/gluten-free spaghetti sauce. I use around 1/2 a big jar for around 2.5 pounds of meat. I mix it throughly and let it simmer a while. When its done I put it...
  18. Yes, which is why I try to use the term CARB in place of sugar. It sounds more general to people. For all practical purposes carbs = sugar = starches. IMO, it is much better to differentiate between a complex carb and a simple carb then to use possibly deceptive terms like starches. I think you need to check your index again. Pure sugar is what the...
  19. It depends on what part of dairy you react to. Lactose or casein? If it is lactose, you might be able to have some dairy products still, if it is casein then you pretty much can not. As for breakfast... stop thinking in the box! I had left over meatloaf yesterday for example. Another day I might have bunless cheese burgers, or latly I have been eating...
  20. Yes steep drop. NO POTATOES! Steak and salad excellent choices. Leave off any sugary steak sauce though. Desert could be full fat, low carb ice cream if you can find it. Remember its the carbs that do this to you and the fat and protein that prevent it.
  21. You are going to have to cut all that sugary crap out of your diet if you want to get better. No matter what comes of the testing.
  22. Was not referring to her banana bread, but that one is good too I was referring to the one she calls "Bread from Anna"
  23. Nancy, I think she is referring to eating rancid FRUIT not the flour or oil.
  24. Reactive hypoglycemia is defined as a sudden drop in blood sugar FOUR HOURS AFTER the start of a meal.(remember all times are typical averages, not exact measures) It takes time for the food be converted in to glucose, and more time after that for the insulin production to kick up and start impacting you blood sugar levels. The sugary the food , the faster...
  25. I would think before he did that he would need some strong solid evidence its based on real facts... I know I would before I put it on my site.
