  1. There is a forumla on the market that uses completely hydrolized protiens which is supposed to make it much easier to digest (sorry I don't know the name of it), and Good Start uses partially hydrolized proteins in both milk and soy forumlas. Might be worth a try.
  2. Call them and they will give you the contact info for any lakefront distributers in your area.
  3. I get that too. I will get SOOO hungry, completely famished, and then if I eat anything I feel sick right away. It's very odd.
  4. I had the pecan (blue box). Those are my favorite ones. Do let me know what you hear from the company.
  5. Ok, this could be a complete coincidence.....but I had a mystery glutening yesterday. I swear that I didn't eat anything out of the norm; I had mashed potatoes, carrot sticks, an apple, peanut butter, and nut thins. All day that is all I ate and I never even left the house. Is it possible? If I hadn't read this thread I wouldn't have thought of it...but...
  6. There is now a gluten free beer called New Grist that is brewed by the Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, WI. I called there and they were very helpful about getting me in contact with the local distributer and now I can buy New Grist at my local store. Depending on where in Michigan you live, it might be fairly easy to get.
  7. What kind of products are you using? I get a terrible reaction from Phisoderm products, or anything that contains benzoyl peroxide. I might as well set my face on fire.
  8. Ew, I didn't realize that. I thought that they were private by default. Thanks for the tip.
  9. Makes you wonder how they got our email addresses, are they not kept private?
  10. Is there a reason that your dog needs a senior food (specific health problems)? If not, I really would recommend just sticking with an all life stages food. Most senior foods just have more added grains to reduce protein and maybe some glucosamine thrown in. Here are the ingredients of the science diet. Appears to be gluten free, but IMO it's just plain...
  11. I might stick to a gluten-free diet also, but it sure would be nice to not worry all the time! Today at work we had to do testing on Carnation Instant Breakfast (the ready to drink kind that has barley in it) and I was washing my hands like no tomorrow because I was afraid that I would forget and make myself sick on accident.
  12. Which variety did you try? One of the flavored ones?
  13. I would love to not have to worry about getting sick because a careless restaurant employee picked croutons off my salad or set my plate too close to the bread station. Being gluten-free doesn't bother me, but I would like to be able to be safe from food.
  14. I eat boxes and boxes of them (literally, I use them in place of all my former bread and crackers) and I have never gotten sick. Sorry that I can't be of more help.
  15. This is the only information that I have seen as of now, but I emailed and the lady said that more info would be available as the date got closer. Open Original Shared Link I have never been to one of these myself, but since Green Bay is only about 3 hours away I thought it would be fun to try.
  16. What color is the "crust"? Is it kind of a golden/honey yellow color? If so, you may have impetigo. That is something that I have gotten from time to time due to my other skin conditions. It spreads like crazy, itches, and has a yellowish oozy crust on the sores.
  17. I have dermatitis herpetiformis and when I'm breaking out I take 500mg of tetracylcine and 500mg of B3 twice daily. My skin stays pretty clear now though, but it took around 5 or 6 months of being gluten-free. I also use clobesetal (sp?) ointment.
  18. I thought that the quinoa flakes were completely gross, but I like whole quinoa. Especially since it cooks so much faster than rice. Never gotten sick from it though.
  19. Just judging by the ingredients, I would choose the lick your chops (I assume you mean the lamb and rice, no?) over the authority.
  20. There is a chicken rice dish from Country Crock sides, it's something to just heat up. There are also some box mixes from Lundberg Farms.
  21. Yep. Nothing more fun that watching a girl get sick eating pizza. Besides, how drunk would I have to be in order to eat gluten?? I would have to be unconscious.
  22. Today I had a coworker tell me that he wanted to take me out to the bar, get me drunk, and make me eat a large pizza. Just to see what would happen. Klassy.
  23. New Grist is now available (as in just today, I just bought the first sixer) at B&G Liquors in Chippewa Falls, WI if anyone is interested and within driving distance.
  24. Liz, did you ever have swelling in the initial not-so-bad stages? I feel like I'm being paranoid, but after ignoring what I now know is a serious disease for 10 years I'mm trying to be vigilent and proactive with my health.
  25. Ok, so it was rather sudden and severe? This has been gradually going from a barely noticable little ache every once in a while to a rather nagging (but not severe or debilitating) pain over the course of about a year or more. Sometimes I have a little trouble holding a pen, but nothing life altering. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it.
