My DH appears in fairly large symmetric patches all over my body (for example I have a patch above each knee and on the outside of each ankle, as well as both elbows and the backs of both hands). I do get a rash around my knuckles that looks similar to yours, and my dermatologist told me that it is a type of eczema.

I was recently at a conference in Anaheim, right down the street from Disney. I had very good luck in downtown Disney, and there is an Outback and a place called Mimi's Cafe a short distance away.

ARCHIVED Quick Breakfast Ideas?
frenchiemama replied to smjohn's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
There are some gluten-free cold breakfast cereals, I generally buy Nature's Path. Other ideas include fruit, eggs, yogurt, Kinnikinnic english muffins (don't taste a bit like english muffins, but not bad toasted), or maybe a LaraBar if I'm in a rush. -
ARCHIVED Just Learning! Are These Things Safe?
frenchiemama replied to Becky6's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Modified corn starch should be ok, and I believe that maltodextrin *made in the us* is safe. You're going to have to call Cub about those marshmallows though. I don't know anything about their store brands. -
ARCHIVED Any Soft Breads Commerically Available?
frenchiemama replied to Goliadman's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know you said that you don't bake, but I just thought I'd throw this out anyway. There is a mix called Chebe Bread that is very good. If you ever have a few extra minutes on the weekends, it's totally worth it. The mix requires no skill, just throw the ingredients together and bake (I don't bake either, but I make Chebe all the time). You can make rolls... -

My husband says "It doesn't bother me. I feel bad for you sometimes because I know that you can't eat some of the stuff you like anymore, and sometimes I eat differently because, but it's fine." -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Dog Treats?
frenchiemama replied to hsd1203's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You can get liver treats and dried beef treats (only ingredients are liver or beef) from www.drsfostersmith.com for a reasonable price. My dogs go nuts for the beef treats. Also, here is a list of fresh foods that are perfectly safe and healthy to give dogs: Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED I Have The Best Boyfriend Ever
frenchiemama replied to elonwy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
How nice! That sounds like a great birthday! It's so nice when people go out of their way like that. I just had a birthday on the 9th and my sister sent me a package with the best damn brownies I've ever eaten and some pumpkin bread. -
ARCHIVED Wheat Fiber That Is Gluten Free?
frenchiemama replied to elonwy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Can you use dairy? I've made gravy with broth and a little butter w/ cornstarch. -
ARCHIVED Anyone Know Of A gluten-free Dog Food?
frenchiemama replied to mart's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Natural Balance has three gluten-free foods (available at Petco). Canidae is a very good food that is really reasonable in price, you'll have to go to the website and check for availability. Nature's Variety has at least one flavor that is gluten-free. Innova EVO Timberwolf Organics makes a couple of gluten-free foods (I'm a big fan of the Ocean... -

The walmart brand doesn't list anything with gluten, but I got very sick from it a while ago. Proceed with caution. -

Does the rash itch? -
We live in town, and our lot is 75x150. It would be wonderful if something like that could stop poor little Baby Girl's itching. She's so miserable in the summer and I hate having to give her medication every day.

ARCHIVED Stick-on Birth Control Patches, Etc
frenchiemama replied to skbird's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know some people who use NFP, and they seem happy with it. However these people are also the kind who would be ok if they had an "oops". I am NOT one of those people. It goes beyond just not wanting kids, I think I have some kind of kid-phobia. I absolutely don't want to be around them under any circumstances. In fact, I dread the day that either of my... -
Well that's interesting. I just assumed it was grass, because she gets hives on her little legs and belly, and her sides if she is out laying in the yard. You can pretty much see where her body contacts the lawn because of the hives. We do have those clovers all over, I wonder if that's it. I should treat the lawn next year and see if it makes a difference...

ARCHIVED Stick-on Birth Control Patches, Etc
frenchiemama replied to skbird's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've used it, and I liked it. My doctor had me stop using it for a while because we suspected that the estrogen was making my DH flare up. Right now I'm trying the minipill to see if there are any changes. -
I think it's possible to have false negatives on tests for celiac disease. There are some individuals with DH who do not have the intestinal damage that indicates celiac disease, but these people are still gluten intolerant.

Eczema can be and frequently is confused with DH. I do think that there may be some connection between the two though, I've noticed that several people on this board have eczema as well as DH. (I have dishidrotic eczema on my fingers)

I'm not sure if they have gluten, but I warn you that I broke out horribly from it. The rash lasted for 3 weeks after I stopped using the patch. -

I just checked the website and I didn't find that particular beer. But I'm really excited because Lakefront beer is available near where I live! That means I could probably just request that they get this new stuff in for me. -
ARCHIVED Girls Only - Need Advice On Putting On Weight
frenchiemama replied to Matilda's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
LOL! I think if anyone ever figured out that secret, they'd be a millionaire. Lifting weights, doing push ups, and other chest-muscle exercises can help you build a better foundation for that area, which will make you look perkier. Also, you can have about half of my boobs if you want, they get in my way! I've always wished I was smaller up top so I could... -
ARCHIVED Camila Birth Control Pills?
frenchiemama replied to frenchiemama's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Nevermind, I did some more searching and apparently it is gluten-free. Oddly enough, now I'm not even sure that I'm glutened. I felt HORRID yesterday, but I feel perfectly fine today and that never happens. Who knows. -
One of my dogs is allergic to grass (among other things) and it makes her have terrible skin problems.

ARCHIVED Camila Birth Control Pills?
frenchiemama posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The pharmacist told me that there were no gluten ingredients, but I'm glutened. I don't know for sure that this is what it was from, but it's the only thing that stands out to me as a possibility. I can't find any info online, and it's Satuday so I can't call the company. Does anyone have any information on this one?
