  1. Joan, you posted in a thread which is from 2005. I doubt that the original posters are around anymore. Always remember to check the dates on the threads. Welcome to the board Joan!
  2. First --- I use Suave Naturals shampoo & conditioner --- gluten free, works great for me & cheap too. I think Dove is also but you would have to check that. You can always call companies & ask them. You can also put shampoo in the search box here on the site & will come up with a gazillion threads on the subject & find choices. I will...
  3. Tender ((((HUGS))))) to you MitziG.
  4. Pretty much it in a nutshell isn't it?
  5. If your mom is doing fine ont he 2 baby aspirins then don't even think another thought about it. She's fine if she's fine.
  6. Yup. that'll work! You know what else a hammer is good for? You know how when you go to hem jeans one of the side seams is so thick & then you're turning it under twice which makes it a monster? Take the jeans outside to a concrete surface & use your trusty hammer to pound that super thick turned under seam into a manageable, something you can...
  7. This place we're renting the kitchen is so small that I don't want to even bring in a food processor eatmeat. I'm just going to pick up a little coffee grinder & see what happens. I was very happy though with how the egg yolk-less Belgian Waffles turned out though.
  8. But Tom, the study said & I pointed that out but you either missed it or chose to ignore it where it says those serological tests DID NOT REACH STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE. That's a pretty strong statement. AND it further said that they observed the TIMING OF INTESTINAL CHANGES DID NOT SIGNIFICANTLY CORRELATE WITH THOSE OF SEROLOGY, SYMPTOMS, OR LAMA. ...
  9. Lisa, please re-read what i wrote & you quoted ----- I said "all but a FEW exceptions" --- that would be YOU. And YES, we DO need to be specific. We are trying to get a consensus from the major celiac centers on what would be the time duration as well as the amount of gluten to be consumed for a gluten challenge in re: the BLOOD panel! Somehow...
  10. And since we are on this subject....... I posted this thread not long ago. A PubMed abstract of a study done by UofC. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/95523-do-gis-adhere-to-dx-guidelines-for-celiac/page__p__815627__fromsearch__1#entry815627 Of course, this only deals with the GI's.
  11. I, not too long ago, asked the same question. Here's the thread: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/93739-fried-chicken-nuggets-crispy-help-recipe-please/page__p__801304__fromsearch__1#entry801304
  12. GFin DC, I think your letter needs to be very specific as to what kind of gluten challenge you are asking about. Blood? Or GI? There is a big difference. Tom began by quoting a GI study result. The op is going for BLOOD testing. The study Tom referenced shows that villi can be influenced AND dx'd in the short time frame of 14 days but we here know that with...
  13. You know, you CAN have eczema AND dh at the same time. Celiacs tend to have things like eczema, psoriasis & other skin problems. I've been thinking about your situation & maybe you ought to see that specialist. Start right now taking photos of the rash & along the way the progress going low iodine & take the photos with you to that specialist...
  14. DH goes NUTZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get more & more & more & more blisters & lesions & ITCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. It certainly sounds like you have symptoms of celiac especially with your daughter. I remember reading & maybe answering some of your earlier posts but can't remember your history. You just helped with that. I get the dh in the curves of my ears but have not had it deep inside my ears. I also wear glasses & it drives me insane as the dh gets...
  16. mikyraso, Okay, your blood & endo came back negative. That does NOT mean that you DO NOT have celiac. There are a lot of false negatives & we could get into all the reasons why --- such as the doc didn't do the FULL celiac panel & the doc didn't take enough biopsies etc..., etc..., etc.... & were you gluten free or gluten light at any time...
  17. YVW jlaw. The hardest part was that I have alllllll these references bookmarked but I do not have my bookmarks organized. And thus, it takes me forever to find what I'm looking for when i want to link to some reference. All my dh bookmarks are mixed in with general celiac bookmarks & included in all that are gluten-free recipes, ingredients, cooking tips...
  18. Thanks mawmaw!
  19. You're talking about an entirely different thing.
  20. Well, Tom, I disagree. The U of Chicago says 12 weeks which IS in fact 3 months. So, no, I won't stop telling ppl they need to do 3 months.
  21. You're a good & wise mom cap6. You can lead a horse to water but you have to drown them to get them to drink it. Life will take care of it sooner or later. Like rosetapper --- I hope she sees the light sooner.
  22. In this link is the info. you need. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/95643-interesting-reading-on-dh/ It states that a dx is a dx of celiac. So many docs do NOT understand this & so it can be risky to have the blood or the endoscopy b/c when they turn up neg. then so many stupid docs THEN want to say you do NOT have celiac disease. The link...
  23. I can understand some ppl needing the dx for compliance sake & especially for kids & teens. For myself the dh is so terrorizing that I don't need any other incentive to stick strictly to the diet.
