  1. Yes, I too, would say those are active lesions. I think it depends on the individual derm as to whether they will order the blood panel or not. Any doctor with a medical degree can order the tests; the question is will the derm. May guess is the derm will say to go to your GP & ask the GP to order the tests. If the derm orders them then the results will...
  2. Yep, looks live hives --- at least it doesn't look like dh. And I've never had nor heard of dh coming & going in 30 min. to 2 hours. Be happy it ISN'T dh! Benadryl is a good idea. Hives can be triggered by stress too, either mental or physical.
  3. Pigmi, I wanted to talk to you also about your pain from the DJD (degenerative disc disease). I have been dx'd with this also. I have had less pain & fewer symptoms since going gluten-free. Gluten makes us hurt. it makes our bones & joints hurt. You may very well find that after going gluten-free you will need less pain meds or less strong pain meds...
  4. There is no gluten in the flu shot.
  5. Here are some links for you. You may not be interested in all of them but they all contain good information. I'm glad you are healing but be aware that you can still have outbreaks at any time even gluten free (gluten-free) until all the antibodies get out of your skin which can take 2 years & even longer. At this very moment I think the most important...
  6. Okay, I'm back. In this next link under Indications for testing it says "Most DH cases have associated celiac disease". They are WRONG! The celiac experts have concluded that a dx of dh IS a dx of celiac. You don't have dh & not have celiac. It's just that most ppl with dh have less GI symptoms than celiacs w/o dh. Important info. on taking biopsy is...
  7. I have to run right now but will be back later w/ more info.
  8. Also Open Original Shared Link
  9. Open Original Shared Link then also click for the next section & then again for the one after that
  10. What a nightmare you have been through! I'm so sorry to hear this & I know it pains you greatly. You have been grievously wronged. I think Beachbirdie's suggestion for fixing y our med records would be a good thing & it would also help you to get some closure on that aspect of it too. Unfortunately doctors are NOT educated enough on this...
  11. This is good. Since your child can end up with celiac it would best if you can get a dx.
  12. Your symptoms certainly fit celiac symptoms. It is a falsehood that all celiacs are rail thin & look unhealthy. Some of us are rail thin & look healthy. Some of us are downright fat & either look healthy or look unhealthy. Some are just overweight. We've had discussions about this before --- with the reasoning being proffered that malabsorbtion...
  13. kmag's last line is another reason so many with dh don't have official dx's. The moment I figured out what it was --- that was it! --- I went gluten-free with the next thing I put in my mouth. No way I was waiting around for an appt. When you realize it can take up to 2 years & sometimes even longer for the antibodies to get out of your skin; you don...
  14. Yuppers, looks like you have dh. I'm sorry. Welcome to the board. I hope you don't have as big a problem getting dx'd as most of us but be prepared. You have it bad & IMHO blisters & lots of lesions are just around the corner for you. I hope not but I'm afraid that is likely to happen. You've been given good advice by the others. You might...
  15. Welcome to the forum TexasLady! So sorry you're having to go through this flare. It sucks. Like Cindy says --- I hope your biopsy was done correctly. You were still eating gluten right?
  16. I understand that! When this last big dh outbreak started I had also just begun taking digestive enzymes - gluten-free of course. And I stopped everything when this outbreak happened. I thought I was beginning to heal & no new lesions then I began back on the enzymes yesterday. Last night the back of my upper thigh broke out in about a 6" x 5" area. Soooooo...
  17. Hoping you have good news now. I know, the guessing is a PITA! You don't know if it's this or that or the other or none at all. Makes one nuts!
  18. I agree. Could be dh. The photo is not as clear as I would like to see & more info. would be good.
  19. Dapsone makes the dh go away but doesn't "cure" it. The itching will stop very quickly --- in days or a week. But I would advise you to research Dapsone very thoroughly before trying it. Also, remember that Dapsone masks the dh so if you are on it then you will have no way to know if you are getting glutened or cross contaminated. Many here have tried Dapsone...
  20. Maybe they will be spared yet. We can always hope!
  21. Yes. It could very well be pre-dh or early presentation. From reading a lot of experiences on here it seems like most all of us can recount bumpy skin that didn't itch & then as the years went by those bumpy skin parts began itching. DH presents in various ways & can vary from person to person & from stage to stage. Keep an eye on it.
  22. I'm going to say it's your gut that hasn't healed yet. Do you take digestive enzymes & probiotics? You should. Culturelle is non dairy & a good probiotic & Enzymedica Digest Gold for digestive enzymes is what most of the ppl here use & swear by. Remember, just b/c we have dh & don't have major GI symptoms doesn't mean we don't have damage...
  23. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm so sorry to hear that. 1 is better than 3 but none is better than 1. Hoping tomorrow brings better news.
  24. Welcome to the board!
  25. I'm not allergic to eggs. I don't have any other AI diseases that I presently know of. I have been getting a flu shot every year for the past 30 years; ever since I got the flu when I was 25 & it kicked my ass!!!!!!! At 25 yrs. old!!!!!! Last year I got the flu shot even having just discovered I have celiac disease. I will get one this year too.
