    My daughter was diagnosed in December. She doesn't have any reaction outwardly to gluten so I am never sure if she is getting glutened or not. I am careful at home but if we eat out, never sure.     That's sounds crazy! And like the other poster. I read the exact opposite. More babies who are born by c-section have celiac disease due to not going through the birth canal. (Of course I had both mine the reg. way and she has it anyway!)

    I am not sure about the genes. My celiac is DQ2/DQ8. Not sure about the others. The blood tests are wayyy high though. Have you had her thryoid checked? Constipation is a big sign of that, too.     I subscribe to a meal planning service (e-meals) She has a gluten free option. It is like $18 for 3 months and that is all you will need to get going. Just save them. Her meals are better than what I come up with and also cheaper. I just mark on the ones I don't want on the shopping list. When I go with her plan, I save more than if I went with my own...

    And I don't know if you live where they have BIG LOTS but they have started carrying a few gluten free items in their food section. I guess they might not be selling as well in some stores so Big Lots buys them. They had the Bob's Red Mill brownie mix (my absolute favorite..even over reg. gluten brownies)for $4.50. They also had corn pasta for $2 a bag...

    I think the best thing you can do is to teach her on how to handle bullies. Yes, they might be her friends but if they are making fun of her food, then she could probably say something to stop that. She can't let them get the best of her.     Hope it isn't wrong to promote this but I was just getting groceries and saw where Publix has their Van's Gluten free waffles and the Gluten Free Rice Krispies for buy 1 get 1 free. (You can get just one for half price if you don't want two) It is very rare that I see specials for gluten-free food so I thought I'd pass it along.

    Well, she doesn't show an outward reaction but obviously something is reacting in her espophagus to have grade 3 EE. I was sent to an allergy doctor by the GI.     My daughter had the back prick test. The allergist told me that the RAST blood test is so unreliable that they don't even do those anymore. So we did the back thing.     I asked this same question a few months ago with the exact same situation! My 11 year old has Hashimotos. She was postive like you on the Ttg and endomysial antibody. Ttg can technically be false positve in people with live disease, thyroid disease like Hashimotos, and type 1 diabetics. HOWEVER....the endomysial antibody is not affected by those. I was...

    I have been reading if your endomysial antibody test was postive then you almost 100% have celiacs. I guess I am confused why they even biopsy then! When my 11 yr old was biopsied, they also found eosinophilic esophagus which is caused by a food allergy. We had no clue.
