  1. Open Original Shared Link We all like amy's. Her Asian stir fry is the best. Two packages along with extra broccoli and other veggies makes a meal for an entire family.
  2. Open Original Shared Link This is a great recipe. I used real sugar and added chopped chocolate. You could roll them in coconut!

  4. First off, I'm not condemning you. On an internet chat site you'll find many personalities, and mine is somewhat abrasive, yet always well intentioned. I read that you had bloodwork done, was it a full celiac panel? That wasn't clear to me. Also, As for the comment I made about her having this "problem" for life, I was referring to chronic diahhrea...
  5. and she's going to have this "problem" for life She will have this problem for life if it's Celiac and it goes undx for too long. It sounds horrible, and it is horrible. If you screw up your system for too long, permanent damage occurs and other more life-altering disease labels are attached. When a person, no matter how young, is having diarrhea over...
  6. If you feel you need the testing or you won't be satisfied without a dx, then do not stop feeding her gluten until AFTER you have her blood drawn. The test will be inaccurate if she is on a gluten free diet when her blood is taken. Can you imagine yourself having diarhea that many times a day? Can you imagine how your rear would feel going through...
  7. Foods by George makes great corn breads.
  8. The sugar cinnamon are great too. My son's favorite are the chocolate dipped. We put Pillsburry chocolate frosting on the chocolate glazed.
  9. Gluten free bakery items by whole foods- so good. Foods by George corn muffins- toasted in a toaster oven with butter...yum. Banana bread by the gluten free whole foods bakery-like real bread.
  10. I called today and was told that the Java beans and vanilla beans in mixed frappuccinos have gluten. scary. Don't ordered mixed drinks - the machines may be contaminated. The bottles are safe.
  11. Hmmm.. I never thought about that. I guess I can take comfort in the fact that my son will not be kissing any beer drinking girls when he's a teen! Of course, as his mother, I can assure all that my angel won't be kissing any girls other than his future wife. * I'm allowed my delusions.
  12. I don't think it's difficult to remain gluten-free. I read about all these people being glutened on this web site and wonder how they manage to do it so often. My son has had two glutenings in 4 years. They occurred at the beginning. It has been three years since a glutening. He's been in pre-school, kinder twice, lived in two states, moved cross country...
  13. I've had them and they're horrible. I quit caffeine, gluten, dairy *mostly*, and have no more soda--- only water all day. I haven't had one migraine since. THANK GOD! They're so bad, I'd have given up my right arm to be rid of them. Try drinking no less than 4 bottles of water a day along with NO caffeine. Seriously- none. It constricts the blood vessels...
  14. We made ice cream sandwiches with pamela's gluten free cookies. Lots of them. With different flavors of ice cream. We've been dairy free ish for some time now. I may just have to go get some breyers this weekend...
  15. they are patting me on the head like I'm a child - UGH) Heather- That makes me sick. Hopefully, it makes you mad. You won't get any help from any dr who knows nothing about celiac disease then compounds his lack of knowledge with arrogance. I don't know what to suggest except blood work to look for difficencies * I can't spell that*. My son was low...
  16. I'm thinking the same thing. I didn't know Funyons were gluten-free!
  17. October 10, 2005 Thank you for your email. All JOLLY TIME Microwave Pop Corn products (including Mallow Magic) are gluten free from wheat, rye, oats and barley, however, all of our products do contain corn gluten (modified corn starch). Our microwave flavor providers have also assured us that our flavorings are gluten free. The "D" on the front...
  18. Little flavored apple sauces have Natural flavors, so I checked.
  19. Use this time to demonize gluten. Help her to understand the gluten did this to her body. Remind her to ask permission before eating any food she comes across no matter how delicious it looks. Reinforce the fact that cookies withOUT gluten would never hurt her stomach, head, etc like this. She'll remember this incident for years if you use this experience...
  20. How about baggies full of nuts, raisins, craisins, yogurt raisins, pineapple chunks, etc and gluten-free pretzels? Or baggies full of grapes, apple slices, carrot sticks, blueberries and orange slices? Those Envirokidz bars are diabetes for beginers snacks.
  21. All these stories, sad as they are, make me laugh. I haven't had one iota of assistence from my drs. The newest guy, nice as can be, told me a celiac can eat RYE, OATS, BARLEY, AND SPROUTED GRAINS. It was straight out of a horror movie. Who ever dreamed of going to the doctor only to get advice that could level you? It's malpractice to suggest the...
  22. It tasted great because it's covered in sugar. It's not good for you or any living creature, so I won't recommend it.
  23. You can't cheat. If you do, you won't feel better. Maybe your body doesn't like to be antagonized. Stop cheating.
  24. Open Original Shared Link Here's a link to get you started in organizing a R.O.C.K. chapter in your area. Also look into the Celiac Walks that happen in May. This will be the ..5th or 6th walk. I forget. I've been to all but can't remember!
  25. Why can't anyone just say this boy can't have gluten? What is the big deal? Look at his history! It's all so consistent with celiac and this boy has been suffering since he was a baby. I hate this. His gastro won't see him now until the end of the month. I don't know what she wants to do with him or her thought on him having celiac. She didn't even prescribe...
