ARCHIVED Menstrual Irregularitiescarriecraig replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease WOW! That is so interesting. I had spotting between periods for almost 3 years straight, and just thought it was my pill and I tried a million of them. Of course I was told I would have spotting when I switched pills - what a vicious cycle. Now, I am on Yasmin, with lighter periods, no spotting, and they are light.

ARCHIVED Coping With celiac diseasecarriecraig replied to Eve's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Hi Eve, Welcome and I'm sorry that you are struggling through the gluten-free diet. I know exactly how you feel though. I've been on the diet almost 10 months now, and I had 2 slip-ups this weekend while at my parents house. I've felt like crap for a couple of days now. Fortunaltely, I know what the culprits are, so I won't be eating those again -...

This past Thursday I went to an alumni event for my college, and had 2 glasses of white wine. By the time I got home (after eating at Risotteria), I was pretty smashed. This is the second time this has happened to me. I haven't been drinking a lot of alcohol due to my healing process, so I'm wondering if my tolerance is just low, or if I am having a reaction...

ARCHIVED Simple, Unprocessed Foodscarriecraig posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Hi Everyone, I've been as gluten-free as possible since June last year; there have been a handful of times that I have been glutened (cc issues), other then that, I am gluten-free. I'm still having loose stools each day, and am wondering if I just need to simplify my diet for a while to make them harder. Can anyone help me with some simple, unprocessed...

Hi! I just got back from a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line on March 5th, and I had the greatest experience. We decided to go at the last minute (within 3 weeks of sailing), and I just went through my travel agent to get the contact info of the coordinator on the ship. A few days before we left, I got a confirmation that I would meet with the executive...

ARCHIVED Most Annoying Comments/questionscarriecraig replied to carriecraig's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I got two more comments this week: Oh, in a couple of years when you are all healed up, you can cheat and have things with gluten in them. My friend's mom who has Celiac does it every once in a while, and she's fine. I was telling the same co-worker that I couldn't use Aveda hair products because they contain wheat and oats, and she said, "Are you...

About once a week, I dream about eating a piece of bread, or a slice of pizza. In the last dream I had, I was eating gluten, and thinking to myself everything that I would need to do to feel better the next day. Then I started listing everything: camomile tea, ginger ale, noodle soup, immodium, etc. Anyone else have dreams about eating gluten foods?

I am getting together with some friends at Fig & Olive, a Mediterranean rest. in NYC. I've printed the menu out, and I'm hoping that there won't be problems with CC, since there is so much bread on the menu. I'm probably going to call ahead to find out about dedicated cutting boards, salads, etc. Anything else that I can check out?
