  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I just moved near Livingston, so I am looking forward to trying Calabria's out!
  3. Hi Everyone, My husband and I just recently moved to West Orange, NJ (Essex county), and I'm looking for some gluten-free places to eat. I only know about Calabria's in Livingston, but I'd like to find some place for my birthday dinner... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Carrie
  4. I used to love going to Not Your Average Joe's in Needham (where I worked) and Watertown (where I lived)! I haven't been there since before I was diagnosed and used to LOVE eating their bread with that olive oil/garlic/cheese dipping sauce. I now live in NJ, but I'm glad to know that NYAJ is going to have a gluten-free menu - it will be good for when...
  5. WOW, thanks to all of you for all of the great Breakfast ideas! I can't wait to make some of these. Have a great week everyone!
  6. Great ideas, thanks so much guys.
  7. Good morning, As I eat rice crackers with PB on them for the 100th day in a row, I'm getting really bored with eating the same thing over and over. When I first started to post on this board (in 2005), I remember someone posting a list of foods to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and others added to it. I can't find it now. Has anyone seen it...
  8. WOW - I'm a little late to the party here, but I ALWAYS thought it was the 7 Grain bread, and wheat Thins, and all of the other "healthy" multi-grain foods that I was eating that triggered my Celiac. If I think back, it could be getting married (April), moving to Manhattan 2 months later (June), my grandmother dying 3 months later (October), and the stress...
  9. I just started using Origins, but inquired about all of the products I was interseted in, and they were very helpful.
  10. Paula, I feel your pain. I went to lunch yesterday, and got steak fajitas. I asked what was in them, and the reply I got back indicated that they would be safe for me. Well, let me tell you... I was at an open house an hour later, and had to run out. I had a severe reaction to what I ate, and was in the bathroom at least 7 times yesterday afternoon...
  11. Good morning, My husband bought Rolaids soft chews for himself, and I took a look at the label since I've seen on this board that they are not gluten-free. The labels lists that it contains milk, and I looked at all of the ingredients, and they seem safe. Does anyone know what was in the original soft chews that were not gluten-free??? I'm going...
  12. Reading your post reminded me of a topic that I started in January: Open Original Shared Link Most annoying comments/questions asked. Some of the answers are hysterical - this is my favorite: Yea, I've gotten the "Can't you just eat a LITTLE??" Yea, I answered... if I want MOLTEN ACID shooting out my butt.
  13. Hi Buzz! Yes, I too was hungry constantly. I am 5'4" and weighed 118 and ate more then my husband who is 6' and weighs 180 lbs. I'd say it took somewhere between 4-6 months for the extreme hunger to go away. Now, I am down to 105 and I sometimes have to force myself to eat - just because I know I should. Hang in there!
  14. Thanks so much for all of you who responded! Please feel free to contact me should you need some words of encouragement.
  15. Wow, I have been away from celiac.com for almost the whole summer. I sure feel like I have missed a lot b/c I have no idea what Rachelville is!
  16. Hi Kelly, It took me a good 8 months to feel better, and then a whole year to feel pretty much back to normal. I still get "d" because I am lactose intolerant and am too stubborn to not eat dairy. I have also noticed that I don't have severe reactions anymore when I do have a glutening. Hang in there.
  17. Last week, I had my 1 year follow-up blood test, EGD and biopsy (ok, it's been a year and 3 months). I got the results last night, and the biopsy's were negative (my Dr. also biopsied my stomach), my villi look normal, and the blood test levels were good. As I was hanging up, the nurse said to me, "be sure to stay on the diet, ok?" I had to chuckle...
  18. Yeah, I do sometimes forget that I have it. I have been gluten-free for over a year, and have started to feel really good the last couple of months, and don't think about being sick because I'm not running to the bathroom all of the time. Too all of you newbies out there, there is light at the end of the tunnel!!!
  19. I'm going to add on to this older thread... I have been gluten-free for over a year, and have been feeling great for the past few months. Recently though, I've noticed that my mouth has been extremely dry. My eyes have always been dry, but I just thought it was from the medications that I was taking (for asthma and allergies). I have stopped taking...
  20. Hi! I just got back from a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line on March 5th, and I had the greatest experience. We decided to go at the last minute (within 3 weeks of sailing), and I just went through my travel agent to get the contact info of the coordinator on the ship. A few days before we left, I got a confirmation that I would meet with the executive chef...
  21. We've made everything from chili, chicken stew, chicken with dumplings, risotto and paella in our 7 1/4 qt. Le Crueset. It is great! Have fun with it.
  22. Yes, it is gluten-free, and delicious!
  23. Mine is bad, but I just went off the pill, so I think that is really triggering my mood swings, more then being gluten-free.
  24. Yes, absolutely. My husband and I have been together for over 10 years, married for 3, and it's like we are in the beginning of our relationship all over again. It's fantastic!
  25. O negative.
