ARCHIVED Any "lost"-aholics Out There?
TriticusToxicum posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I can't wait for the season premiere. There are supposed to be a couple of catch-up episodes coming up soon. I can't remember the dates! -
ARCHIVED Rachelville 2
TriticusToxicum replied to Rachel--24's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm not sure if they are still airing it. It was out during the US Open. Roddick is walking down the tunnel and his handler says to him, "...watch out for this guy, he returns everything". They walk out onto the court and Roddick sees the white "line" across the net, he looks up at the scoreborad and it says Roddick -v- PONG, then he says "PONG?" You... -

I don't have an answer for you, but my in my own experience my eyes are better since going gluten-free. I used to have an almost constant feeling that there was something in my eye, but there never was. My eyes felt kind of bumpy under their lids. Since gluten-free I'm only bothered by my seasonal allergies.

One made-up word for you. PONG Can you imagine that for PS2? What % of the population "gets" that commercial with Andy Roddick? Who wasn't addicted to it? Wasn't that the "free" game that came with the Atari 2400? Memories... -

uh, congratulations? (trying to think how Beavis would respond) Is a respectful "golf clap" in order here? It appears that you have glimpsed the Holy Grail of POOP. Something mosy of us can only dream about. I hope you know we all hate you now (KIDDING IN A BIG WAY!) What's your secret? (STill Kidding) Good for you, keep up the good... -

Kind of like this? (classification #74) Open Original Shared Link I have to admit, in the early '90s I had a mini-mullet, just the last few inches of the back...my mom thought anymore would look ridiculous...I think she meant absolutely ridiculous. -
ARCHIVED Trying To Build A New Lifestyle
TriticusToxicum replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm the only one who is gluten-free in my house. My wife and 2 small children still partake of the forbidden fruit. It actually is less of a lifestyle change than you would think. As mentioned earlier crumbs and cross contamination are our biggest enemies. We all slip up and forget to read a label now and then, but that comes with the territory. As the primary... -

Wishful thinking on excepting the ladies from this...while in the minority, you ladies have more hair products and corded "hairaphanalia" to spice things up. Check out classifications 9, 25, 74 and my personal favorite #94...I think it was a footnote to women's "sufferage" ...the right to vote, and vote with bad hair... I hope HELL is a nicer... -
ARCHIVED Gluten -- I Cheated And It Was So Good
TriticusToxicum replied to grantschoep's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's true what they say, you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone... Sorry you're missing out on lattes. I would be non-functional without my cardboard cup full of caffeine. Can you do those Coffeemate type flavored liquid creamers? A little goes a long way. I'm not a big fan, but i did use them when I treated myself to coffee during the temporary... -
ARCHIVED Gluten -- I Cheated And It Was So Good
TriticusToxicum replied to grantschoep's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think I could be completely content to live gluten-free if there were just some normal textured bread/buns/rolls. When I was younger my grandmother would always make homemade rolls for the holidays. I would sit at the table and butter roll after warm spongy roll. It got to the point nobody would pass the rolls to me without first announcing "Richard wants... -

I always feel it in my mid-lower back when I get glutened. I don't know if it a direct result of the gluten itself, or if it is a side effect from being uncomfortable, bloated, carrying around the pot belly, etc and thereby stressing the area. With that said it's just as likely you've had too much of the car.

ARCHIVED Have You Seen Dental Enamel Defects From Celiac?
TriticusToxicum replied to chrissy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't have any defects per se, but I do have terribly sensitive teeth. I have a feeling it is because of the whole malabsorption thing. If I remember correctly too much floride can also have a negative impact on a child's teeth. If the child is swallowing toothpaste it can result in problems down the road. We live in the sticks and have a well, and I seem... -

ARCHIVED In Desperate Need Of Fiber!
TriticusToxicum replied to myserenityprayer's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I can't relate to the big "C", we can talk "D" any time. Anyway, after I was diagnosed my dietician suggested adding flax to my diet. It is supposed to be great for your gut, I can't remember what fatty acid and fiber too, but it is supoosed to aid in healing your intestines. What she neglected to tell me was that it is also a natural laxative. I suffered... -
ARCHIVED Diagnosed Celiac, Why Am I Nauseated All The Time?
TriticusToxicum replied to hafadai43's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I didn't mean to come off sounding flippant or put down anyone's input. I don't think I made my point very well. I agree that doctors don't have all of the answers, but a good one should do just what is being done on this thread, asking about symptoms, history, etc and for all the money we pay them, and for all the years they spend in school I would hope... -
ARCHIVED Diagnosed Celiac, Why Am I Nauseated All The Time?
TriticusToxicum replied to hafadai43's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
That's the best advice. We can all speculate, but until you get to the doc and get poked and prodded you'll never know. (i know doctors aren't always right/helpful/insightful/caring, yada yada yada, that's fodder for another thread) You PCP should be able to ask the right ??s and help figure out what's ailing you. If you watch this thread long enough you...
