ARCHIVED Celiac's? Not Exactly...
mouse replied to RunnerNYC's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You can still come back and let us know how the operation went. Congratulations on finding out what the problem was. -
I have been gluten-free for over 2 1/2 years and I only miss 2 things. Spuds Fish and Chips in Seattle and all the gluten filled appetisers that PF Changs has on their menu. According to Lynne (tiredofdoctors), I can NEVER cheat because of the gluten ataxia that I have. When she first told me this, I still had some hopes that maybe down the line I could...

ARCHIVED Celiac Disease
mouse replied to SVG's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome to the board. It really is not that hard once you get the hang of it. It is just getting there. There is a topic on this forum for shopping and also one for recipes. I just spent about 8 hours or more yesterday finally putting all the fantastic recipes I have gotten (from this forum) into a loose leaf binder with index cards. I have been printing... -
ARCHIVED Is This Where I Introduce Myself?
mouse replied to Adelle's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Welcome to the forum. Just remember that we do not consider any question stupid. That is great that doctor #10 listened to you and ran the blood tests. That is totally awesome. -
ARCHIVED Weird Gall Bladder Removal Question
mouse replied to a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hi Beverly. Just talked to Lynne today and she told me about this. I guess I missed this thread. I am glad you are having this fixed. Do, they also do this by Laparoscopicaaaly? You are having this done soon - right? Hugs -
ARCHIVED Acid Reflux - A Thing Of The Past?
mouse replied to ArtGirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
When I went gluten-free, my acid reflux stopped and I was able to stop all medication for it. -
ARCHIVED Can I Ask For A Prayer Too?
mouse replied to TinkerbellSwt's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Of course I will put your son into my daily prayers. Good Luck with the doctor appt. -
Yes she is beautiful -inside and outside. She is also in her very early 40's and looks like she is late 20's - how wonderful that is. Her skin is beautiful and youthful looking. Heck I could go on, but you get the idea and hopefully we all get a picture.

ARCHIVED Starbucks Double Shot Espresso gluten-free?
mouse replied to LLatham's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Urban legends get passed in emails to even Iraq soldiers. Most people do not know how to check for the truth of Urban legends. I just learned a few months ago. I get several emails each week that are false. I do not forward them, but the damage is continuing being done as the person who sent it to me, forwarded it on to many. It is a shame as some of... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free In The Destin Area
mouse replied to skinnyminny's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have been following this, just because I used to live in Ft. Walton Beach in 1957. I am laughing trying to invision a mall in Destin. When I lived on Santa Rosa Island in Ft. Walton, there was a restaurant by the bridge, an Acquarium, a duplex and about 3 homes. I went to Choctawhatchee (can't remember how to spell it and don't want to look at my records... -
ARCHIVED Changed Avatar, Just For Today
mouse replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
What a wonderful tribute. -
ARCHIVED For Those Who Give Themselves B12 Injections
mouse replied to TERESE's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Can anyone else give you your shot. My husband gave me mine and we moved from each buttock to each thigh. So, he would only hit one specific area every 4 shots. I did not have a problem, because of the rotation. -
ARCHIVED How Do You Convince Some One To Test?
mouse replied to rat toe's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I know that we have many teenagers on this forum that follow the gluten-free diet. As you know it is really not that hard of a diet. It just takes getting used to, to what you can and cannot have. I wish I had been diagnosed when I was young. I was sickly from birth. Told I had this, this and that and put on lots of different drugs from midlife to the... -
Thanks Jen for taking pics of Lynne. When I talked to her last night, she told me about the fabulous lunch you had and that your Mother is so nice. She had a great visit. She said she would put up one of the pics that your Mother took. I really envy the members that live so close to each other.

ARCHIVED Upset About What Colleauge Did To Me!
mouse replied to jesscarmel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I am so sorry about your puppy. I know how quickly you can bond to a pet and the loss is great no matter how short or how long of a time you have had her. I also hope you stayed home from work so that you can grieve. Many Hugs. -
Hi Anne and welcome to the board. I agree that this has been a treat to read. I was smiling at your great outlook. I was just thinking today that I have to compile and sort all of the wonderful recipes that I have printed from members of this board. Think I will tackle that this week. I also never liked beer or pizza. Now I want some. My husband says...

ARCHIVED What Does It Feel Like When You Can't Tolerate Eggs?
mouse replied to mesmerize's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I cannot eat egg whites. I use one or two eggs in cookies or cake mixes without a problem. But, never a recipe that calls for more then two. I make us omelets for dinner sometimes. But, mine is one egg white and 3 yolks. If I have an egg one day and an egg the next, I get spacey, then terribly nauceous, stomach cramps and then I throw up. It is not... -
ARCHIVED Just Checkk To New Delfi Forum Product List
mouse replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I hope this is just stress as you are certainly under a lot of it. I don't want you to have intolerances that will limit your use of dairy (butter). I can't remember Lisa if you had food allergies before Celiac? I have had food allergies since childhood. They would come and go over the years until one would really get bad and I would have to limit that... -
ARCHIVED Just Checkk To New Delfi Forum Product List
mouse replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am sorry you are so sick Lisa. I take Advil Gel Caplets. Hope you feel better soon. -
ARCHIVED Beware Of Dasani Water On Your Flight
mouse replied to ms-sillyak-screwed's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I am going to have to agree with Shriley. About 40 years ago, my husband and I lived in Seattle and we would go up into the mountains for a day or two. The one thing that everyone said was "do not drink the river water". The river water looked so pure and wonderful. But, they were filled with parasites and other things. Those with knowledge said that... -
ARCHIVED Bronco's Trip To Seattle
mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for FINALLY sharing - LOL. Don't you ever stay home? Are you going to be here at the end of the month? Just so I can pencil you in for pizza, in MY non busy schedule. he he. Ah to be young again and have the energy to go everywhere - have lots of fun. -
It would be terrific if you took a photo of her tomorrow. I really don't know how good she is on doing avatar's. I personally can't do mine. Maybe she could change her password temporarily and you could change her avatar with the new photo. Then she could change her password back. That is what I did for Floridian to put the ostrich up for my avatar....

ARCHIVED How Do I Change My Forum Name?
mouse replied to tiredofdoctors's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
Thank you Dessa. I am not really looking for compliments. Lynne is such a pretty woman and I want her avatar to be her. BTW, she also looks about 15 years younger then she is. Unbelivable! I should be so lucky LOL. -
ARCHIVED Didn't Do The Correct Tests?
mouse replied to bugsmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't have a young child anymore as I am a grandmother of an almost 19 year old. But, this is crap. Please excuse my language. If you get the blood test done and it says positive, you then are told to see a GI, who then tells you that if you don't have a positive biopsy, then you do not have Celiac. This is so ridiculous. I am sorry to tell you that... -
So many people are thinking that the photo in Lynne's avatar is of Lynne. It is a little of her. She is the one on the left. She is a MUCH younger woman then me (I am in the center of the photo). She is also a very pretty woman with a bright, happy and wonderful smile. On the right is broncobux (Chris) who is certainly better looking then this photo...
