ARCHIVED How Do I Change My Forum Name?
mouse replied to tiredofdoctors's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
That is not Wheelie in the center of her avatar, but a photo of me. I thought I would shoot her the next time we go to Las Vegas LOL. She is 1/2 hidden on the left. She happens to be be a very pretty MUCH younger woman then me, with an absolutely wonderful, happy smile. On the right is Broncobux (Chris), who is much better looking then his picture shows... -
ARCHIVED I'm Tired Of Living Like This....
mouse replied to shai76's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I hope I can address this properly as I sometimes have a hard time choosing the right words. This disease has nothing to do with who you are. This disease does not define you. If someone has diabetes, they are not their disease. If someone has Osteoporosis, they are not their disease. Lynne who is on this board and is in a wheelchair, is not the wheelchair... -
I started noticing my peripheral neuropathy several months after going gluten free. It started in the balls of my feet and has now spread to include the toes. According to my Rheumy, they is no way to stop it, but there is medicine to control symptoms if they bother you. I would not take the medicine. I personally do not notice it so much when I wear...

ARCHIVED Biopsy Etc. And Amnesiac Drugs - Concern
mouse replied to gfp's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
About 50 years ago, I had a tube shoved down my throat so that the doctor could look into my lungs. He said that I would remember nothing and would not feel a thing. I was about 13 years old. I can describe the room, where the doctor stood and where the nurse was. It was a horrible expierence as I felt everything. After it was all over and I came "awake... -
A friend of ours is a fantastic person with a grill. He only cooks my food IN foil or ON foil because of cross contamination. He said no matter how well he cleans the grill that there would still be gluten below the grates that could splatter up and contaminate my food. The only grill I put things on directly is my grill. It has never had gluten on it...

We had eaten previously at Carraba's (several times) and Sunday we took 11 people to dinner. 3 of them had never been to Carraba's and lived only about 15 minutes from there. They said they are going back again, because they loved the food. Because I am the one who chooses the restaurant, I chose Carraba's as so many love Italian food. So now they have...

ARCHIVED Megan's Gagging Isn't Any Better
mouse replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thank you Tanya for always updating. I think of Megan every day and also say a prayer at the same time. Many Hugs to all of you. Armetta -
ARCHIVED Laugh Of The Day
mouse replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Karen you are a "hoot" (sound like Lynne, don't I), for starting this thread. I am a hoverer, but I use a piece of TP to pick up the sit lid before I hover. Everyone should be more concerned about grocery cart handles and the bottom of their purses. I use the wipes in the grocery store and as soon as I get home, I wash my hands before I handle the... -
ARCHIVED Article By Harvard Folks
mouse replied to queenofhearts's topic in Publications & Publicity
This article was in my local newspaper which I just read today. I don't know, but I just did not connect to the article and felt things were missing. I did not like the part about needing the biopsy to prove you have Celiac, even if the blood test came back positive. I just feel that the biopsy is way too iffy for a definative answer. I was glad that... -
ARCHIVED Tazorac Cream - Anyone Ever Use This?
mouse replied to DingoGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Are you guys referring to the cat face on the penquin. Sorry, but I noticed that some time ago and thought you were talking about something new, that I was missing. I miss a lot, so nothing surprises me. I did have my glasses on and this time I put my nose up to the computer to make sure I missed nothing LOL. Thanks for the good wishes for our trip... -
ARCHIVED Tazorac Cream - Anyone Ever Use This?
mouse replied to DingoGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have hit refreshed and F5 - Nada. Maybe she removed whatever by now. All I see is the penquin. There is nothing wrong with taking anti-depressants, no matter what Tom Cruise says. Anybody who needs them should take them. So, none of you should apologise for doing what is necessary to give you a normal life back. -
ARCHIVED Tazorac Cream - Anyone Ever Use This?
mouse replied to DingoGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Celia, you are a fruit cake LOL. I am going back into the postings looking for whatever Penquin is suppose to have done. Could not find anything, unless she is sitting right next to you and she goosed you, I have no idea what she did. Oh, well, since I am always two weeks late in figuring anything out in my mind, I am normal - he he. -

Your just being weird again Karen. You are probably jealous of my hairstyle LOL. I know my smile is very unusual - but a hamster - no way. -
ARCHIVED Tazorac Cream - Anyone Ever Use This?
mouse replied to DingoGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Susan, you have to really look at the Ostrich. That sucker will cheer anyone up. When I get kinda down, I come on here, look for my ostrich and then just smile. He has the most goofy loving look and that is why I wanted him from Floridian. So, remember to look for the ostrich and let him take your cares away. Thursday morning I leave for the airport... -

Hi Robbin. The Ostrich is now the mouse avatar. Celia gave it to me. Isn't Celia a real jewel and she even did the avatar. -
ARCHIVED Megan's Gagging Isn't Any Better
mouse replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thanks Tanya for the posting. Hopefully everything will settle down at home and Jarod does not need surgery. I am so glad that Megan is still doing well and maybe with the milk change she will be hungry and the gagging will slow and possibly stop. Always sending prayers and hugs to all of you. -
I am sorry Jules that you are having to deal with this disease. I would probably address this more in detail, but I am tired and heading to bed shortly. I did not feel your anger, but since I was about 2 weeks from being dead (according to my dr.), I was just relieved to have an answer. Many on here have gone thru denial and the anger. So, you are not...

ARCHIVED Doctor's Note For Travel With Food
mouse replied to jesscarmel's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I am flying Southwest from Phoenix to Las Vegas on Thursday. I asked yesterday and I could bring food as long as it was cooked. I am bringing muffins, brownies and choc. chip cookies for Lynne and I to snack on and the muffins are to go with our coffee in the AM. There better not be a problem as we went over the items real well. I also can bring my meds... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Belch? Don't You Dare Laugh!
mouse replied to Lisa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sorry to hijack the belching thread to address your downsizing. We decided Dec. of 2004 to go smaller. We had only been living in my dream home for two and a half years at that time. But, I was not recovering the way we had thought and I just did not want to worry about the next dust storm hitting the pool and spa. I did not want to worry about getting... -
I hardly ever had any kind of gas (top and bottom) until about 6 months to a year before my Celiac diagnosis. Now I get the bottom only. I was always so polite during my marriage until this started and now I just let them rip. My hubby can't believe I have gotton so crude, but boy does it feel good LOL. Love your photo of the twins, Karen.

ARCHIVED Tazorac Cream - Anyone Ever Use This?
mouse replied to DingoGirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Good Morning everyone. Hope you all slept well. Here I am on the west coast time zone and I go to bed before the East Coast people. It does not pay to go to sleep. Then you have to scroll several pages back on many of the threads to play catch up. Can't wait until Lynne and I go to Vegas on Thursday. I will never catch up when I get home.
