Patti, we had the best scalloped potatoes we have ever had. My hubby who does not say much about food, said UMM (the highest praise he gives LOL). I did substitute 1 cup chicken broth for one cup of Vances. I have to make some more Vances up so I can have a smoothie tomorrow. Thank you for sharing. Because there is only the two of us for dinner right...

Thanks Tarnalberry. I will go there after my nap.

What great ideas. I have just printed the new ones out. I starting getting worse last night and am not too good today to say the least. I hope this is just a dip. When I call the doctor tomorrow I will ask for the chest X-ray RX that he wanted to do. Have started my 2nd round of antibiotics. My husband took me to the store a little while ago, so...

I have a hard time understanding how your sister-in-law can sit by and watch her child be sick. Won't do testing because it is not convienient. I cannot offer any advice, but as far as to what I think, I think this is a form of abuse. You are getting good advice as how to handle it in the future. It has to be so hard for you to watch this and be helpless...

ARCHIVED Megan's Gagging Isn't Any Better
mouse replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Tanya, I am so sorry that Megan had such a bad night and also you. I will keep you both in my prayers that there is a turn around soon. I think that sometimes the sickiest children have the most uplifting smiles and chuckles. -

I had spinich at a restaurant in Las Vegas and shortly after dinner, I had to almost run to the room, just made it and threw up my very expensive dinner. I guess whatever the supplier put on it to clean it made me violently ill. I no longer order spinich in a restaurant. -
Caisin is the dairy protein. I am allergic to the caisen. Many Celiacs cannot have dairy in their diet until they heal, but DO NOT have an allergy.

Shai, you are too funny. My husband cooking a meal, he can't even attend the grill properly - he he. When I was bedridden the last month before the diagnosis. I did not cook at all. I ate very little, and he was always trying to get me to have toast, sandwiches, whatever. The poor guy existed on sandwiches and soup for that month. And never complained...

Oh, thanks Patti as my husband loves scallop potato's. I didn't use cheese on the previous ones I have made, so hubby and I won't miss it. You know that when I do my grocery list for all these ideas, it is going to take me an hour to write everything down.

Nora, I really don't know. It might take awhile for someone to answer as the weekend is real slow for postings. My undiagnosed DH (visually told I had it, but no biopsy) was on my hands only and were pen point blisters that itched like mad. I would scratch them and fluid would come out. I know there are some on here that have had DH in other areas. Have...

Thanks Berneses for asking. I am now climbing out of the pit. The antibiotics finally took hold yesterday. Also off of the oxygen. I posted on my prayer thread to thank everyone for the prayers and emotional support. Now that I am on the mend, I know that not having any of my food allergens is very doable. Conquered gluten-free cooking and will learn... -
Oh, my goodness - my mouth is watering. I am going to work on my grocery list today and hopefully I will feel up to going to the store tomorrow. Thanks for all the great recipes. I can share something at least. After I started to get some oxygen in my body, it dawned on me that I have a recipe for MAYO. So, here it is. 2 eggs at room tempature...

That is so great Rachel that all those symptoms are gone. You have certainly spent a long time figuring this out and sharing your information has been such a big help to so many others. I cannot believe this thread. I check in several times a day just so I don't get behind. Maybe this thread will reach 2000 replies. That would really please your... -
Thank you amybeth for the link. I will look it up. Tonight for dinner we had salmon (yes, again) on the grill. I made fresh zuchinni (yellow and green), which was given to me at the doctor's yesterday(home grown). I sauted it in roasted garlic olive oil and just added salt and pepper. I also made my first mash potatoes with the Vance's milk. The consistancy...

I am going to work on my grocery list tomorrow, so that when I am feeling better I can try all of these. Have to get to the store first. I just don't have the energy since the diagnosis of Celiac to cook more then one meal for my husband and me. He eats what I prepare. And these sound like things he would also enjoy. The poor guy had to put up with some...

Thanks everyone. I just want to keep this thread alive. I will go to the website for recipes after my nap. And that Greek Rice sounds wonderful (just printed it out). I also have on my list to learn how to make a vinegar and olive oil dressing. I have never done it before as it was just easier to buy Kraft Ranch. Oh well, I will learn to do this to...

I am really to sick right at the moment to do much research on this. But, does anyone have recipes they could share with me. I need to eat more then I am. And I am just eating the same things over and over again, because I am really scared to eat the wrong thing. Thank you for any help anyone can give me.

Oh, Judy, that is just terrible about the kitchen ceiling . You are such a strong person with being so sick and handling that. I probably would have had a massive breakdown right then and there. Of course, I am still praying for you. You will beat this, just like you have beaten the other health issues. And quit running all those errands - you are suppose... -

Thank you for asking Robbin. I am better tonight as I am only slightly wheezing. But, now I got this big rock sitting on my chest. I see the doctor tomorrow afternoon and we will see what he says. I don't want this to go into pneumona (sp). Rachel, is your coconut butter have any soy, caisen or corn in it. If it doesn't could you tell me the name... -

mouse replied to jacklyn1981's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't know if Gerd and Reflux are the same, but I had refluz so bad that I had to take meds in the AM and PM. For me, it completely went away, after I went gluten-free. I also used to be on a large basketful of meds and I do mean large. I hated to go on trips, as it took me almost an hour to divide them into hours and the days I would be gone. I am... -

I have to admit that when I first got diagnosed at age 62 that when I read about having my own toaster, that I certainly felt that was overkill and did not purchase one for a year. I ate toast very seldom and when I got sick I would attribute it to something else I ate. It is your decision as to what quality of life you want as you age. You sound not as... -

You might search Scott's information for it. I get the newsletter as I find it easier for my eyes to read. But, it is cheaper to order the online newsletter. I like it, as sometimes there is information that I can cut out for my GP to read.
