Tiffany, I have not yet checked the Namaste mixes that I have in the freezer. Will do so. Just have been going through the pantry and refrig. stuff for right now. Thank you for the tip as I have always loved the Namaste mixes. I have noticed a marked improvement in my breathing since I have stopped the Pepsi diet soda. Still have not heard back from...

ARCHIVED An Update On My Dd
mouse replied to Mom2six's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That is so GREAT. A doctor who cared enough for the well fare of a child, then an official diagnosis. Keep up the good work. I am so happy for all of you. -
I looked at the bag and did not see anything, but I am getting absolutely paranoid over this. Judy, have you tried the Toll House gluten-free cookie recipe. It is great. Made them a week ago and they were all gone and that was why I made some more. I use parchment paper to put them on and I think it was Patti that said to let them cool a couple of minutes...

Another corn question. I emailed Pepsi and have yet to hear back from them, but I am not drinking any diet Pepsi until I find out. MY QUESTION is does anyone know if there is corn of anysort in the Toll House Morsels? Since this corn allergy has hit the roof, I have lost 4 pounds and cannot afford to. I cannot eat enough calories in the day and when I...

ajay, thank you for all the advice. I am going to email Pepsi tomorrow and ask about their carmel color. I know it is not wheat as it is on the gluten free list. I wrote down the Whole Foods soda. But what is a Cosmo and annatto? At least here I can ask dumb questions .

Welcome to the forum. If you have been buying gluten-free bread, be sure you do not use the family toaster, but buy a cheap one for yourself. When I was first told that I needed my own toaster (28 months ago), I thought that was overkill. It is not, as the crumbs from glutened bread stay in the toaster and then can get on your bread. Make sure you do...

ARCHIVED New To Boards--here For My Hubby (long)
mouse replied to Stacie H.'s topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I assume he is on medication. You need to check that his meds are gluten-free and also any over the counter meds he takes. Welcome to the forum and I am so sorry for all that you and your husband have gone through and are still going through. I think you are heading in the right direction, but it takes time. See if you can get the book "Dangerous Grains... -
ARCHIVED Please Help Set Expectations For gluten-free Challenge
mouse replied to SuperBeck's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome to the forum. Like Lisa said you will probably get a lot of hits after the holiday is over. Do not use the family toaster, if you have already bought gluten-free bread. Your lipstick also has to be gluten free. If your husband has been eating gluten or drinking beer, do not let him kiss you unless he rinses his mouth out real good. I know I am... -
ARCHIVED False Positive/negative Diagnoses?
mouse replied to Deanna Wang's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You can have a false negative test, but not a false positive. You could have improved because dairy for one reacts the same as wheat to the the small intestine. But, I respectfully suggest that you also go on the Celiac diet as you have had a positive test result for the disease. And you will probably notice that you keep improving. It takes some time... -
I am sorry shai76 that I lost my cool, but I have taken my allergies seriously for over 20 years. I have seen the best allergist in the Midwest when I lived there. I took allergy shots for over two years and never could they increase the dosage as my arm would just balloon. That is when they told me that I was in the 5% class that could not take the shots...

Excuse me Shae 76, but I have been gluten free for 28 months. I am 64 years old and because I was diagnosed so late, I will never have a full recovery. Look below my signature at the auto-immune diseases they have diagnosed me with. My quality of life sucks. The only thing I have been able to do is look forward to is going out to dinner. I have eaten...

Mu decaf diet pepsi box does not list corn syrup. Am I misreading it? Aren't diet sodas sweetened with something else? I have the Celiac diet down pat, but this is really throwing me for a loop. Now I have to wonder if the drink did it as I did not ask for diet soda. Maybe, I am still just allergic to the protein of corn and not the whole thing. If...

My problem is that I use more margarine in mashed potatoes instead of a lot of milk. I also might have figured out why I reacted so bad on Friday. Besides putting margerine on my baked potato (ate out), I also had a Jack Daniels and coke. Does anyone know if rum has corn in it? I can't live on prednizone and have to figure this out quickly. Thank...

My corn allergy went through the roof. I was hoping that I was allergic to the protein, but after trying marg. I found I am allergic to the whole thing. I used an epi-pen and oxygen last night and finally sent my husband to the drug store to refill my last Medrol Pac (predizone). I am better today, but scared. My dairy allergy is not this bad. But, I...

ARCHIVED I Did It... I Made Bread!
mouse replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank you. It sounds great. That will be my next energy product. I have had a french loaf pan with perforated holes (it closes) hanging from my pot rack for 10 years. It looks great hanging there , now I will actually use it. What an awesome idea (tongue in cheek). OOPS. JUST NOTICED THAT IT SAYS CORNSTARCH. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I CAN USE TO... -
ARCHIVED Other Intollerances/ Allergies
mouse replied to lisaemu's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I avoid soy except when I go to PF Changs and except for the Crisco I used to make choc. chip cookies on Sunday. I am also very badly allergic to casein and I only make mash potatoes once a month. But, I do have Kinninikick (sp) bread about 4 slices a week and I think that has milk in it. Otherwise that is all the dairy I have. My corn allergy went the... -

ARCHIVED Hi Im Newwwwww 2 This Site
mouse replied to nilam's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. Welcome to the forum. There are a great bunch of people here that will help guide you through the learning curves. I also lost a lot of weight (53 pounds) and did not gain any of it back. But, I am 64 and that might have something to do with it. -
ARCHIVED I Must Be Crazy, Or Am I?
mouse replied to penguin's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I can't remember if it is 3 months or 6 months. But, you have to be ingesting gluten to the equivalent of three slices of bread a day for that time frame. The endoscope (sp) can be hit or miss, depending on where the samples are taken and how many are done. They say that you cannot have a false positive for Celiac, but that you can have a false negative... -
As far as the lotions, makeup, shampoo's and soap. I use whatever lotion I have as I do not put my hands near my mouth. Some prople are so sensitive that the lotion bothers them. Makeup I don't wear, except for mascara and a gluten free lipstick. The lipstick is a must as you can injest that. Any soap I use on my face is gluten-free, but my body soap...

I really hate to scare anyone, but you can read the bottom below my signature. Just remember that I am 64 years old and was diagnosed very late in life. I guess that is why I want the younger people with newly diagnosed Celiac to realize this is not a game, but a life long diet change.

ARCHIVED NestlÉ Toll House Semi-sweet Chocolate Morsels
mouse replied to fanny's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you everybody for the cookie advice. I used Crisco and parchment paper. I also let them set a couple of minutes before I transfer'd them to my cooling rack. They are awesome. I can't believe that I am eating chocolate chip cookies. My family really liked them. The only thing I changed was add a cup and a half of chips instead of the one cup. ... -
ARCHIVED Could This Be Symptoms?
mouse replied to a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
No, I don't think you are freaking out for nothing. My daughter had projectile vomiting after only drinking 2oz of Molsoy (she was allergic to milk). She was hospitilized 3 times with IV's. They kept telling me she had a virus. She is of short stature and we are tall. She shows all signs of having Celiac, but will not be tested. -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease Or Wheat Sensitivity?
mouse replied to dh204's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There are a few of us on this board that are highly allergic to wheat and also tested positive for Celiac. My GP visually diagnosed DH when he gave me the results of the blood test. I have had small watery blisters on my hands, on and off, my whole life. They itched like crazy. I have only had them once since going gluten-free and that was when I delibertly...
