ARCHIVED Additional Food Intolerences
mouse replied to StrongerToday's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have multiple food allergies and food intolerances. Yesterday I had one hard boiled Easter egg (allergic to the whites) and reacted within 15 minutes. First I had severe stomach pains, then my breathing went into asthma. I should have gotten my Epi-Pen when the breathing happened, but I was just to sick to try and remember which purse it was in. 10... -
Welcome to the forum. You will find many knowledable people on here that will give you sound advice. The next time your hands break out, you might try to see a dermatologist for a biopsy to check for DH (I can't spell the whole name). If you have DH then you are a Celiac. But being gluten-free helps to clear up the rash. For some it happens fast and...

Thank you lonewolf. I am not looking for a wonder cure, but am trying everything possible just to get some of my original energy back. I just would like a little better quality of life and I don't mean diamonds, etc LOL. She swears by this stuff, but $45 seems awful steep. -

I am being pestered by someone who has Celiac, to try a Mangosteen fruit product. Hers is sold under the brand name Zangosteen (sp. is probably wrong). She says it will give me energy and many other things. But, before I pay $45 a bottle, I want to know if anyone else has tried it or is still taking it and what their feelings are on this product. Thank... -

ARCHIVED Are These Symptoms?
mouse replied to thezoo17's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Fibro can give you the pea size lumps. This can happen in various parts of your body. They come and then just leave. Fibro is a Arthritic syndrome. Mostly people with Fibro feel pain, tiredness and have bad sleeping patterns. It is like a viscious cycle - first the pain, then the pain wakes you up, then the fatigue sets in. Sometimes you can just get... -
I think you have to trust your doctor on this one. It would depend on where you were on the chart. I assume he will do another blood test after a certain length of time.

ARCHIVED Paper Baker Bags For Sending Your Bread To The Kitchen
mouse replied to tiffjake's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Vincent, is he allergic to the whole egg or just the whites? I am allergic to the whites and if I get too much I throw up. So, when I order an omelet out, I ask for one whole egg and two yokes and that works for me. -
Oh, Lynne, I am so sorry. Just read this thread for the first time. I will pray for you to be strong in dealing with this blow. But, I really feel that you are already strong and that you will forge ahead and find the path that you now need to follow. Bless you and your family.

I am so sorry that you had such problems. I can't drink that stuff as I throw it up - right away - so none gets into my system. I clean myself out the old fashion way with enemas and pills. Ask your doctor about doing it the way they used to before this junk was invented. Good Luck.

ARCHIVED Paper Baker Bags For Sending Your Bread To The Kitchen
mouse replied to tiffjake's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Judy recommended the bags to me and I love them. What do you mean Vincent about "yucky, gritty, etc" bread? I love my K bread and have sandwiches for lunch at least 3 times a week. Sure beats the yucky bread maker mixes I used and no matter how I tried to doctor them up, they were still yucky. OH, and with the K bread I make French toast for the whole... -

I have been using Advair for several years with no problem, but be sure and rinse your mouth out after you inhale. Do not swallow first. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Beer In Vegas
mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hey Bronco, did I say those tickets were free? How about 2 bottles of beer so I can put them in my room frig. Have not tried the Grist yet. -
My Rheumy found that my D was very low. He said that I just entered the chart. I take 50,000 iu's twice weekly. When my 6 weeks is done, I then get another blood test. The end of last summer my Fibromyalgia started to bother me again after 1 1/2 years with 80% pain reduction. At the same time I started getting more tired. The tiredness and the pain...

ARCHIVED Having A Hard Time Staying gluten-free
mouse replied to Sawyer's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My answer probably won't help you. I was LITERALLY almost dead when the doctor finally gave me the diagnosis. I embraced this diet with my whole heart and soul. I would imagine that this is hard for people who do not have many symptoms. Don't get me wrong, I would love to go to PF Changs and order every gluten filled appetiser they have. I just don't... -
I have been allergic to Casein for over 20 years. I have not had a glass of milk in all that time. But, about once a month I have cheese in something I cook and the Easter candy (the milk kind) are really doing me in right now. I do not get stomach problems with the casein, but wheezing and an itchy rash. I also had a scoop of ice cream for my birthday...

ARCHIVED This Is Starting To Scare Me
mouse replied to chrissy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I really don't know what to say to help. Could she possibly be Anorexic along with the Celiac. There is a young member on here that used to be both. I wish I could think of her name so that you could PM her. Maybe someone else will remember. If that is not the case, then the only thing I can suggest is what I had to do when my weight dropped lower. ... -
It is where I ALWAYS meet my girl friends for lunch. I have the sweat and sour shrimp with white rice. It is so yummy.

ARCHIVED Advair And Albuterol G.f.?
mouse replied to Gorlo77's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They are. I checked them out and I use them everyday. -
There are plenty of postings about Las Vegas eating. Broncobux lives there and you might try to PM him for specific spots. There is an Outback, PF Changs, Carnagie Deli (in the Mirage) and take your own bread as they serve a GIANT pastrami that is more then enough for two. Just ask to have the pastrami on a separate plate. I believe there is a Buffalo...

ARCHIVED Could This Be Celiac Disease?
mouse replied to thezoo17's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
These are blood tests. But, because of the color of your stools, I think you should ALSO (in addition to the Celiac ones) ask to have the liver blood test done. Yes, these tests are not allergy testing. And yes, the stools can have shreds and specks in them. Please keep us informed. HUGS. -
ARCHIVED Could This Be Celiac Disease?
mouse replied to thezoo17's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It sounds to me that you might possibly have Celiac because of the smelly, floating, etc. stools. Go back up to Carriefaith's posting on this thread. She lists the test that you should have your doctor do. If you are going to be tested, then DO NOT go gluten free as it can mess up the results. You can get a false negative, but not a false positive. -
ARCHIVED I'm A Celiac For Attention
mouse replied to IntensePort's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
There are many on here that have family and in-laws that don't believe that this is serious. Some even have spouses that have a problem with the Celiac going gluten free. It is not a nice situation. Be patient and the ones who have your problem will be answering in length. Hopefully they can give you some direction in dealing with this. Good Luck and... -
ARCHIVED New Here- Dd May Be Celiac
mouse replied to Irishlass's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Breath deeply and take it slow. There is a lot of help here. But, you are blessed to have a wonderful doctor (so many were not). So, half of your battle is done. Worry about the gluten free foods first and maybe the shampoo and the soap she bathes in. Just in case they get in her mouth. The easiest for me at least was going with all fresh foods and...
