ARCHIVED I've Never Heard Of Celiac Or Dh, But Maybe That's My Answer...
mouse replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Please don't be terrified. It is a managable disease and the only one that can be controlled by a specific diet. If you have Celiac, be thankful that it was caught before you got a lot sicker. Good luck and know that we are all supporting you in finding the right answers. -
I am so happy for both of you. You must be doing a GREAT JOB.

OH, YES, it really hurts. Especially the sides of my thighs. I sleep on my side and I am like the princess and the pea (fairy tale). I can not even have a PJ seam on my side or the bed sheet wrinkled.

ARCHIVED Going To Vegas This Weekend And I Want Seafood!
mouse replied to frenchiemama's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I have to second the Prime Steakhouse for the seafood tower. It will feed two and is a meal in itself. And yes, it is pricey, but totally awesome. I also ate there before Celiac. I would call them and ask, but I don't see how it could have gluten in it. The only concern I have is the sauce, but you could bring your own. -
I have had Fibro since the late 70's. When I got diagnosed they called it Fibrositis and they thought it was rare. I think there are 16 or 18 pressure points and when I was diagnosed I had every pressure point active. My TMJ was diagnosed when I was 19 (now 64) at the University of Washington dental school. No mouth pieces at that time. I was just told...

ARCHIVED What Are Foods That We Would Like?
mouse replied to Neshy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I would like all of the appetisers from PF Changs (except letuce wraps as I am sick of eating them). Yum, all of the appetisers gluten-free. I can dream. By the way I order the combination fried rice (PF Changs) gluten-free and they tell me what meats or seafood they have that can go in it. Some has already been seasoned and that is why they tell me... -
ARCHIVED Doc Called Enterolab "quackery"
mouse replied to Jocelyn357's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am sorry to tell you, but I would find a new doctor. Only 40% of Celiacs have the classic symptoms. I believe the overweight or obese people account for 50% and the last 10% are normal weight. Your doctor is way off base and ignorant of what Celiac is. Also by eating gluten for two weeks, might not be enough to give you a positive and you could have... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Develpoed As A Side-effect?
mouse replied to MissSio's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
A drug can't cause Celiac. But the shingles might have been the trigger to make her Celiac Disease come to the forefront. It is an inherited disease and you should also be tested for it. You do not have to have the classic symtoms to have the disease. Many people are asymptomatic, in that they have no symtoms until late in life. When that happens a lot... -
I was trying to count all of auto-immune diseases that I have due to being an undiagnosed Celiac for so long. I have not even listed them all below my signature and maybe will do so in the future. I was reading in Dr. Green's new book that only 3% of the population has auto-immune diseases, but that 30% of Celiacs do. Also that it does not stop at one...

ARCHIVED America's 10 Hottest Food Trends
mouse replied to Claire's topic in Publications & Publicity
I guess my concern is like Chelsea's. That this will not be taken seriously. I am thinking of now saying that I have Celiac Disease and that one crumb will make me very sick. I certainly don't want a server to think that I am just following a fad diet for the fun of it. Then he might not be careful, like taking a bun off of my plate (in the kitchen). -
Berneses, I used to wear a soft neck brace in the evenings. When early evening would arrive, the pain would get so bad, that all I wanted to do was just take my head off and set it somewhere. The neck brace would relieve the pain after about an hour. It was great. I still have it somewhere. I have not had to wear it for a couple of years and now all...

ARCHIVED Spelling / Bad Word Filter
mouse replied to tiredofdoctors's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
If I am talking about a C D and not celiac disease, I just seperate the two letters. I do the same for D H so that they don't think I am taling about my husband. -
I have been wearing a mouth guard for too many years to count. I don't grind, but I clench my teeth during sleep. I had a new cap put in last fall when another tooth broke (love celiac disease) and I tried to force it in and thus cracked it big time. This Thursday I go back to the dentist and pick up my new one to the tune of $400. I can't wait to get...

ARCHIVED Teenager Needing Help With Blood Results
mouse replied to macdwp01's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There are four to five specific blood tests that should be done. The problem is many doctors out there are from the old school and usually run just one. Mine did, but it indicated Celiac Disease and so I got my diagnosis. Many people are missed because the full Celiac Panel is not done. The lab will only run the exact test that a doctor orders. Please... -
ARCHIVED Avon Products (skin, Makeup, Etc)
mouse replied to debmidge's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They have come a long way since my consultant asked for a list. She literally had to pry items out of them. Thanks for the updated list - I printed it out for easy ordering. -
ARCHIVED Going To Vegas This Weekend And I Want Seafood!
mouse replied to frenchiemama's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
You might contact Broncobux as he lives in Las Vegas and goes out to eat frequently. We are also going to be in Vegas this coming weekend. We are staying at the Mirage. -
Believe it or not, we discuss many different things beside Celiac. They usually are posted in the bottom of the forum selections. We have done pet photo's, weird happenings, etc. It is really a do it all forum and most of us are very friendly and helpful. We have also had a joke thread. We do try to lighten the serious subject of Celiac. And we all...

ARCHIVED Soy Sauce In Individual Packets
mouse replied to lpellegr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I forget where I got them, but I would not recommend the place. I ordered 20 individual packets and they charged me $15.00 for shipping. So, now when I run out, I am also going to carry a little bottle. -
I am not to good at this computer stuff, but I looked on my printout and it said topic number 16824. I hope that helps.

How long after you accidentally eat gluten does it take for the rash to come back. If you really want a diagnosis you could plan on making a doctor's appt. and eat gluten the proper time before so that they erupt. I was just reading that to take a biopsy for G H that the biopsy should not come from the actual eruption, but from an area right next to a eruption...

ARCHIVED I've Never Heard Of Celiac Or Dh, But Maybe That's My Answer...
mouse replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you decide to go for the blood tests, be sure they do the full panel. My doctor only did one and it came back positive. Thursday I was at my doctors and I saw the PA. I informed him about the tests and gave him my copy of Dr. Green's book to read. He was going to photocopy the page on the required tests so that they are all run in the future. We had... -
ARCHIVED Can Someone Have Dh And Not Have Celiac Disease?
mouse replied to ktneal's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I did not have a biopsy. My GP diagnosed them after the blood test for Celiac. Mine have always been on my fingers, were white blisters with clear liquid in them. They itched something awful. By the time I had to go to the specialist for the Morphia Scleroderma, I had been gluten-free for almost nine months and they were gone. They have only come back... -
ARCHIVED Emotional Reaction From Gluten? Do You Get This?
mouse replied to tiffjake's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
YOU make crab rangoon. Can you please post that receipe. I swear that all I have been wanting to do lately is go to PF Changs and order every appetiser EXCEPT lettuce wraps Oh, Tiff, that was calious of me not to address the way you are feeling, but I got so excited over the idea of having crab rangoon. I am so sorry. When I do get glutened... -
I tested allergic to egg whites. I never have a problem eating bread. But the other day I made Easter eggs and had one with no affect. Then 3 days later I had another one. Within a few minutes I was on the couch with terrible tummy pains, then my breathing became very labored. I even thought about getting my Epi-Pen, but I was to sick to really move...

ARCHIVED What Is The Best Pre-made Gluten Free Bread?
mouse replied to cdiane's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I love the Kinnickinnik bread. I eat several sandwiches a week. It also is firm enough to dip in egg and fry for various types of sandwiches. Not that I am going to dip any in egg for a long time since I ate that Easter egg and got so sick.
