  1. Lol yeah i figured you knew better than that and that one time was just because it was early in your gluten free experience. Besides that i was gonna ask what your recipe was for a gluten-free donut. Sounds so good right now! Gosh so what if you labeled your stuff. Would that help? Are people just forgetting or just dont care? I am lucky my mom and dad...
  2. So you are saying that you have been cheating on the diet? I guess that is what we often call it but it doesnt fit when cconsidering it does not do any good and only puts us more behind at healing. Just to clarify, though you appear to have been on here a long time, a little bit of gluten is not alright for any category you may fit in. Im sure you know that...
  3. Lol I couldn't resist. A plus sign adds to your reputation so yeah it kinda pretty much means that you're awesome. And if you gp into red it kinda pretty much means you made somebody mad, or offended someone, or just said something stupid. So conversely a plus also means you are smart or said something smart
  4. Haha that explains a lot! Thank you. I don't believe there is anything wrong with powder form. It works just as well as cubes.
  5. :-) yeah I bought a powder based one made by "vogue". So what all specifically in broth powders were you supposed to avoid? Just the yeast? I was just wondering why you said you weren't supposed to have any of it.
  6. I feel I had a reaction to yeast once before. I used bobs red mill pizza crust mix and after eating it my throat and or esophagus swelled and a spot I scratched on my arm while mixing puffed up with red dots like poison ivy. I have used all kinds of flour mixes with the same ingredients except the yeast. Until I speak with my allergist I would rather just...
  7. Thx I will probably use a lot of these suggestions.
  8. Hey guys....again. I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a good gluten free and yeast free bouillon cube or powder. I found some with chicken but not beef :-( I live in Chattanooga and I usually shop at earth fare or fresh market, but I am willing to buy online if I find a good organic brand.
  9. Lol I know! That's how I am. Even with music I never buy an album, I only buy the songs I like.
  10. Lol yeah that sounds like a great idea too. I guess the one thing I'm learning with celiacs is that shortcuts often don't work or are just not the best remedy.
  11. Yeah that's a tough one but typical stomach bugs don't come and go that fast. I also jabent experienced gas that caused extreme nausea either.
  12. Thanks I will check that out. I am mostly dairy free although I do fine with small amounts of cheddar cheese. Today I made a corn chowder from reduced coconut milk with cheddar cheese in it. I think I may have candida so I am trying to reduce carbs and sugars too
  13. What do you guys think are the best gluten-free cookbooks? I could really use opinions. I am not looking for a cookbook full of meals with simple meat and veggie dressed up recipes. I am looking for a good cookbook that will offer alternative options for all the commonly gluten filled meals and that adequately explains gluten free cooking techniques. Anybody...
  14. Honestly and in my opinion, it doesn't matter how gluten affect anyone else. Everybody is different. However I have acute symptoms after I eat gluten, nausea and drowsiness that goes away quickly but I will still be tired and then the morning after is usually bad again. I stay bloated for days and almost feel like I have moments when I react to it again and...
  15. Haha hi Mandy and welcome. Its good support on here and I know I have learned a lot, like how to tell the difference b/t fresh split peas and green beans. Pathetic huh?
  16. Seeing other peoples results keeps me hopeful too. I love it! I can't wait to enjoy running and swimming again too. On the fourth I was very excited to have made some homemade chili with gluten-free kosher hot dogs. All natural. I cooked it. And didn't feel at all guilty about "my pickiness". It has gotten easier that my family respects my decisions as necessary...
  17. Yeah I am gonma do a trial run after a couple months and see how sensitive I am at that point.
  18. Okay when I get a little better and I'm off the whole foods only diet I will give that a try.
  19. Good luck with that. I am not completely sure what exactly it was but it went away so I didn't find out what it was. I have a feeling my lymphnodes were in fact swollen and maybe even my esophagus
  20. It seems like I remember that chocolate naturall y has some caffeine in it. Do you have problems with headaches with other caffeine containing items like coffee or tea?
  21. I agree with Skylark, if you wash your veggies and fruits and things off, you should be safe even if you are a supersensitive. Sometimes you have to do a lot of trial and error to figure out what is safe for you and what is not. For example I caved in last night and ate some simple burgers my mother cooked in a scratched "nonstick" pan and it made me sick...
  22. That is interesting, thanks for sharing.
  23. Unfortunately only ingredients are required to be listed on food labels and is probably the reason they are posted as gluten free food option. IMO this is a huge problem for all gluten-free eaters. This is why it is important to learn about how food is processed naturally and in factories and so on. Celiac disease Is known as gluten intolerance very...
