  1. That is basically what I said: "I'm not starving by any means" Maybe we should counter with, "what besides bread do You eat?"
  2. I love Italian and Mexican! sounds delish
  3. Oh that"s neat I will hafta check that out.
  4. Hehe! I would have said no I was carried away when I was I'll and malnourished but now I'm standing my ground.
  5. Lol I wish there was a like button on this forum but since there is not, I will have to make do: I like.
  6. Thx caselynn for your comforting and supportive words. Idk where I would be without you and people like you on this forum.
  7. How does everyone deal with smart elic family and friends who say things like, "Uh huh and how did you figure that one out," and "Pretty soon you won't be able to eat anything." Do these people not remember first grade picture books and learning all their fruits and veggies? Come on now. Ugh! I want to write up a list of every fruit and veggie and grain...
  8. Umm I will get to the point. I would definitely do the strict gluten free diet. I think you could be onto something and don't let the doctors or the ppl around you deter you. Also you will learn a lot by continuing to browse this forum. Crosscontamination is still an issue gluten-free. That means utensils, using same toaster as had been used with gluten-filled...
  9. I live around Chattanooga, TN and although recently we have finally been getting consistent rain, it is still mid nineties and humid! To me it is worse to breathe that steamy air than dry air. Suffocation! Ahhh! Good news is, the onion grass in the back yard is already boiled and ready to eat
  10. That is awesome Squirming, so pleased for you! Glad you got a real good doc to look after you and protect you. So glad you listen to "your gut" once again. Sure wish I had insurance and a good general doctor around here. I hope once I get better I can handle a different job besides in home care sitting on my bum most of the day.
  11. Yes I live in Ooltewah, TN. That is north of Chattanooga and the nearest Costco is down in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. I have never been inside but if they had a good selection for people like us, and prices that are fair, I may chech it out. Right now I do most of my shopping at earth fare and fresh market. I buy everything all natural. Is there a good selection...
  12. You know it is hot when: You wear gloves in the middle of summer just so the steering wheel doesn't burn your hands...ouch! You have to trick your dog just to get them to go potty. You turn around, run back into the house and slam the door behind you. The dog turns around and barks at the door as if to say, "Noooo....you betrayed me! I thought we...
  13. You get pissed when your brother looks in the full fridge and freezer and overstocked pantry and says, "hhhh, nothing to eat." You get irritated when people act like you are rude for not sharing your expensive, homemade, organic, took-too-d^m-long-to-cook food at work. You pull your shirt up and flash your pregnancy-sized belly when people say...
  14. Yeah I don't know the first thing about that. All I know is that it does unfortunately have soy. Ya never know though, maybe you can find some that does not.
  15. Yay! I kept having a problem trying to reply to your post idk why. You and bartfull I think are right. Thx you two have been a tremendous help. I think I will check up on certain plastics like the other water pitchers and sink filters. That may not pose a problem. I am sure my allergist can help verify. I was so close to the edge just a little while ago...
  16. Yeah I wasn't all too clear with your post cause it said " I can handle a little cross contamination". I thought you may have been saying that you don't feel you are sensitive to the point of having to wash everything off and avoid breadcrumb dust touching your utensils etc. I think you meant that when you accidently are exposed it doesn't usually provoke...
  17. Omg the other thing i hate is when it says something like: "Use Pamela's all purpose..." blah blah blah. Maybe they don't sell that around where I live and I don't wanna add the extra expense of paying shipping for a specific brand of some processed blends when gluten free flours are already expensive. I hate it when they don't just tell you what flours to...
  18. Thats what i was thinking to. Not specifically corn but that it was an ingredient being used in some of the plastics! That makes a lot of senseb now. Today was my first day dairy and corn free (nothing with corn starch) and i finally had a day i did not bloat soooo excited! Although i am really gonna miss cheese (maybe hopefully not permanent) and miss...
  19. We used to have a natural spring just down the road but recently several tornadoes ripped through the area and I wouldn't begin to know whether it is contaminated or whether the property owners even still live there let alone whether they still offer buying from the spring. I was concerned about the pipes in the house too I know they have plastic so I...
  20. That is a good suggestion. Thank you.
  21. Oh wow. Welcome. Yes I have switched to your regular bacon, eggs, buckwheat meal and rice cakes with jam or peanut butter in the mornings. Fruit as well. Once in a while I may make pancake batter but not usually because I work too much to have the time for it.
  22. How on earth can I affordably obtain filtered water that has not been exposed to plastics. I have tried and tried and have not been successful finding anything at a practical price. I know I have got to get rid of this exposure because it makes my throat hurt and my lips and tongue burn like oats do (which I tested positive for an allergy to). I needs help...
  23. I was diagnosed with IC before discovering I have a problem with gluten. My symptoms mysteriously and miraculously seemed to disappear when I started exercising and eating low carbs and sweets. It came back when I started eating whole wheat cereals in the morning. The cramping and constant pelvic ache as well as constant urge to void all day and night returned...
  24. I see hmmm i may have to get Abby and her mass spectrometer from NCIS or Reed from Criminal Minds to decipher that one
  25. Lol at least you're honest.
